I guess I didn't really think through the timing of the lynch reveal, so maybe you were right Tyke about not needing to go to the cellar. It just seems chancy to hope that they pick up the information we want though, and depend on Mauboy to report it accurately.

One other possibility as she was the start of the undead and is no longer buried, so maybe just the shovel is needed. Then it becomes did she start in the cellar on Day one?

But it sounds like his mistake was not dismembering her. It sounds like that's the way to stop her completely. And it makes sense if all the items serve some purpose like that.

I'm operating on the idea that there is a corpse buried there that is allowing the evillness to happen. If there is an actual player who is that person, that's a different matter. We'd have to make sure we collect the corpse when we kill her, and have the right items.

That's what I'm saying, I think either there is one corpse down there which we must dig up and dismember, or possibly we just have to dismember any bad guys we lynch. Which means we definitely don't want ot be lynching them far away from us.

I never saw the evil dead movies but from what I remember from Army of Darkness, the book of the dead has the capability of producing very bad things if the person wielding it wants it to be that way (or screws up the pronunciation because he's bruce campbell). I imagine if its in the game we simply don't want it in the wrong hands or worse things will start to happen.

I'm almost positive the book is in this game. It was clear in the first post on the recording it was brought to the cabin, so it should be here, but what is interesting is no one has mentioned it, I wonder if it is already in evil hands.

Now that I know it won't matter because it is to late for night actions to change. I had a chainsaw, but could not use it. I've not said anything for that reason and wanted to wait to pass until I felt like I could reasonably trust someone. While I didn't feel to good about you 72 hours ago, I think it is likely you're a villager. So there is now a chainsaw coming your way. Hopefully this will help you defend yourself and dismember the body should there be one.

A rattle on the cellar door. You hear a demonic voice all around you. Another rattle and a force against the cellar door. You get on top of it but tries to push out. You climb on top and then three of you are on top but it is strong. It's eye pops out and flies across the room into someone's mouth. The cellar then explodes. A hideous tree-creature erupts out. Its eyes glaze white. Its is all gnarled and bulbous and branchlike. A horrible noise coming from its mouth. Then hovering above the ground, it speaks ”We are the things that were and shall be again! it laughs. A voice comes out of his mouth. "Spirits of the book." "We want what is yours! LIFE!"
"Dead by Dawn!" Another voice "Dead by daaaa-a-a-a-a-awn!"
He grabs someone by the head and flings them against the wall, then another. A couple of you charge forward and beat it and chop it into bits and again and again. It leaks out green goo everywhere and finally falls back down into the cellar.
