I'm not about to vote for you this early Blade. You are too valuable to the team, and I've learned to trust your outrageous claims, just usually I have a feel where you are coming from. I'm having a hard time seeing where all of this info could be attained on day 1.

Perhaps he has a role like a "teacher" and he is privy to who the students are and if they have any special powers etc...

Well this has been a bit of a bitch to do. Frankly, I'm going to be very happy when there are fewer players or I'm dead. I think it's going to be worth it in the long run as voting records are more important then ever. Plus, as always, it's given me a couple of suspects which is nice.
For those who don't know bold is a vote that was later unvoted. Underline and italics is an unvote. Also note that I think I'm going to put in things that majorily effect the day, such as in this case Neon's reveal. Quote:

If we're keeping score, the reason I voted for Grammiticus was because he voted for me. I then switched to Qwik once I read through the posts beyond my original vote.
Edit: and saw that it clearly made sense to vote for Qwik. Last edited by Desnudo : 01-10-2006 at 01:13 AM. |

Dola,
I'm with Dubb, is there any way of speeding up the night action cycle? A full day seems like a long time. Thanks. |

i will process the night as soon as everyones actions are in, but i am not moving the next day deadline forward, especially with this many people still in the game, i want to make sure everyon has a chance to get their votes in.

Cool, thanks. I don't want to seem like I'm griping, it's just that the night cycle is usually the slowest part of the game for the majority.

So, can anyone list ALL of the schools at Hogwarts? I've never read any of the books, only saw 2 of the movies. I don't know a whole lot about HP.

Stolen from wikipedia:
Gryffindor, characterised by valour and courage, founded by Godric Gryffindor; Hufflepuff, characterised by loyalty and fairness, founded by Helga Hufflepuff; Ravenclaw, characterised by wit and intellect, founded by Rowena Ravenclaw; and Slytherin, characterised by ambition and cunning, founded by Salazar Slytherin. |

Legilimens From the Latin root "lego," meaning "to gather, collect, pass through, read." This is a practice very similar to Muggle mind-reading, except the Legilimens actually explores another's mind and sees the memories stored there. A skilled Legilimens can target the memories that are most hurtful, causing the most pain or fear and use that knowledge to manipulate the person whose mind they have entered. Man, I went out for the night and we managed to nail a Death Eater on our first shot. Great work Neon! That helps even out the odds considerably...

Every powerful dark wizard has come out of Slytherin, so it has a reputation for the Dark Arts...

Blade, you have me very confused. Mainly because I don't know what stuff you're claiming to "know" based upon your role and what stuff you're guessing at.

I rather think the descriptions of the houses go rather more like this:
Gryffindor, fool hearty daredevils Hufflepuff, nice doofuses Ravenclaw, nerds and geeks Slytherin, evil Anyhow I hope that people get their night actions in soon so that we can catch our next death eater. |

Or, according to the Sorting Hat...
"You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart, their daring, nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart.." "You might belong in Hufflepuff, where those are just and loyal, those patient Hufflepuff's are true and unafraid of toil." "Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, where those of wit and learning, will always find their kind." "Or perhaps in Slytherin, you'll make your real friends, those cunning folk use any means, to achieve their ends."

Regardless, I think the issue of houses vs. schools is confusing some people. There is one school: Hogwarts. There are houses within the school, but everyone takes the same curriculum.
Jeez, I'm discussing some fake school in a fake country. |

Flying isn't really a class...there was a single lesson for first years, but that's it.

My first time checking in since sign-up day. My silence is not part of any devious plot, I was just busy with classes.

Blade, do you have some sort of dark detection device like a sneakoscope ? Did you fall into a pensive by any chance?

I think people need to ignore the "house" aspect. There is nothing in the books that indicate people from each house posess powers unique to there house. The only exception would be speaking parsletounge, which is snake language and that is very rare usually only slytherin's posses it. I think we are barking up the wrong tree with the "house" discussion. |

I thought my point was based on that. I mean, if all the Dark wizards come from this school which focuses on ambition, are the books making some sort of comment about the evil of ambition? |

I agree with this. Classes, yes, per Blade that should be looked at. I don't think the houses come into it based on the ruleset.
