Why do I keep buying games?
Purchased Afghanistan '11 today.. I'm a sucker for TBS war games and I like Slitherine's products quite a bit! |

Wow. Steam *really* hates it.
I dunno. I can empathize with the general complaints on Steam from prior years (poor tactical feedback and outrageously frustrating goals / random seeming performances). Honestly, I think the every year release cycle, while it no doubt has been profitable for them, is starting to wear thin on people. It's been awhile since I've seen much more than incremental updates every release. I honestly haven't felt like FM has been worth buying every year for a long, long time. It seems like a significant percentage of the negative reviews, not only for FM17, but for games across the spectrum, are from players complaining about lack of Chinese localisation. Apparently, there is a major forum (kind of like a SomethingAwful for Chinese-native players) that is capable of mobilizing hundreds of negative reviews on short notice if their needs aren't met.

I buy it every other year, and then only after the third patch.

Is Democracy 3 worth $6.24?
Also, FHM3 is 50% off right now. |

Democracy 3 is a fun game, but having said while I enjoyed it, I only played it once, found it relatively easy to keep things ticking over. But it kept entertained for an entire 4 hour flight, non-stop, so probably worth $6 on that basis.

Fun game, and some really interesting concepts but keeps CTD every 15 mins for me, which is rather spoiling the fun. Also after reloading the auto save, sometimes the objectives in the tutorials are jacked up so I can't proceed and have to restart the mission. Don't think it's worth $30 at this point. |

Bought FM 2017. I'm not much on tactics (I'm a plug and play guy) but I like some of the minor details to add. I love scouting for players, coaches, making decisions like that so it's a nice fit for me.

The only game I know of on Steam that has a different version for Windows and Mac is Call of Duty Black Ops. Everything else should be a single version of the game that you can install and play on any supported OS. There may be some third party sites that list a game as a Mac version if they are selling keys from Aspyr, a company that ports and publishes Mac versions. Excluding Black Ops these should all provide a key that will give you access to the Windows version as well. There may be a handful of other games like Black Ops or that only have a Mac version on Steam, i can't say I'm 100% sure that is the only one but I'm aware of. You can check any game to be sure by checking its Steam store page and looking at the icons above the Add to Cart button, if it has both the Mac and Windows logos buying it will give you access to both versions as long as you're buying a Steam key. Saints Row 2 unfortunately has some rather serious issues with its PC version. I gave up on it after getting consistent crashing. Worth trying if it's free though. Three and Four are great and Gat Out of Hell is pretty fun as well with some great musical scenes.

Regarding Saints Row - My impression of the game was that it started out trying to be another GTA.. Then slowly it embraced being a sort of off the wall crazy variant where anything goes because fuck it, it's a video game.
I like that trend, and every iteration has had me closer to pulling the trigger on a purchase. I think I'll probably pick up 4 at some point. I would love to see how far they go with it in the next version.

A House of Many Doors is on sale this week, worth it for anybody who liked Sunless Sea.
It's very similar, almost the same game with a different setting, a train on legs instead of a boat, and the inside of a strange "house" rather than a sunken sea, but same feel. Not a ripoff though, the Sunless Sea people provided help and backing for this game. |

I just got Shenzhen I/O. It's a game where you are an engineer who moves to China and designs circuits. Plus, it actually has characters and a story line, introduced through inter office emails. And the in-game solitaire game is actually pretty fun in itself.
It's been a great challenge so far. I'm currently stuck on the wireless controller. A sign of a great game is I didn't get much sleep last night as I was up most of the night thinking about how I can solve that one. |

Can anyone help me with this.... (yea i know its geeky as shit)... copy/paste from my Steam ticket
So, this is what I would like to do: PC: Have it be logged into Steam and logged into Path of Exile. PC2: Have it be logged into Steam and be playing Rust. I cant seem to be able to do this and its puzzling why I cannot. Why cant I use my steam account on 2 different PC's and use games that I have purchased? Id like to be able to sell my items in Path of Exile, whilst i'm playing Rust. |

It's probably some form of DRM to prevent people from sharing Steam logins instead of actually buying games.
