Steam Autumn Sale has started

Steam Link device is $4.99. At that price I might pick up a couple just to see how well they work for me.

They're pretty good if you wire 'em up, but dire if you rely on wi-fi.

+1. The one my roommates got two years ago was practically unplayable on wi-fi.

I'm in to a lot of complex games, but I'm not sure I could handle that one.

I have a minor set of Sale purchases:

Expansions for Cities Skylines that I didn't have yet
Dead Age
Survivalist
Weapon Shop Fantasy
How to Survive 2
Project Highrise - Bundle with all DLC
Hard West - Complete Edition

I suspect, going in, that those last two will hit my happy buttons enough for me to go all in on the bundles and dlc, and neither is that expensive with it.

50% off for Assassin's Creed Syndicate got me, I'd seen some clips of the game online and the setting (Victorian London) looked good.

The setting is great, the open world is great, the map is great, the game itself is boring and repetitive.

For those who loved Titan Quest back in the day, there was a new papered-over edition released recently, and within the last couple of weeks the company dropped some $20 DLC that is apparently as major expansion.

I loved the hell out of that game back in the day, and even fired it up again within the last few years. I will give it a try, at some point.

And the graphics for the original have been spruced up, too!

Just for clarification, this expansion isn't from the original development team. This was made by the guys that made the Magicka games. It's getting solid reviews and it's awesome that THQ Nordic allowed them to update the game though.

The original dev team are the guys that made Grim Dawn which also got an expansion not too long ago and is a great spiritual successor to titan quest.

Dominions has one of my favorite stories about game development with the devs forgetting how some things in the game worked.

Confessions of a Dominions manual writer - Quarter to Three

Quote:
The tipping point that led me to purchasing and playing Dominions II was an essay or forum post (I can’t remember which it was) about how the Illwinter guys couldn’t remember a hefty portion of what they had coded into the game. The example was the Wish spell. The essay made it sound like you could wish for literally anything, and the game just might be able to accommodate you. It was almost like the game had a little real magic in that respect. And it wasn’t just the Wish spell, I think it mentioned other spells or abilities that had mysterious properties because the programmers weren’t sure anymore what they did.

Is that the Yogscast Humble Bundle? A lot of the same companies participate each year, so probably will be a lot of repeats. But still, its for charity, so worth the risk I think. Games will be added every day, you'll get the whole package no matter when you donate. One difference this year is that only donations going through Humble Bundle will go to charity-no guarantees on donating through the Yogscast Twitch Live Feeds.

Anyone who ordered the Steam Link deal from Steam, did you get any kind of shipping notification yet? I received the order confirmation after I ordered but haven't heard anything since.

Has anyone played Getting Over It? It's on the steam best sellers list and it's only $7.99. I just spent nearly an hour watching PewDiePie play it, and it seems like the most simple, fun, frustrating and hilarious game I've seen. I don't have a mouse so I can't play it. But I would buy it for $8 if so.

Oxenfree now free on GoG. They compare it to Stranger Things, if you've never heard of the game.

I have thoroughly enjoyed planet coaster. The game has improved significantly (not that I ever had any trouble with it). Lots of new content since launch and several really good DLC packs (Spooky and Adventure Packs in particular). Could still use a bit more depth on the management side of the game to go along with the awesome sandbox mode. I particularly like the new scenario creator and the ability to play scenarios people have shared on steam. This has added a lot of replayability. The devs have constantly been making improvements and adding things in free updates. Hope you get it an enjoy it but for that price I think it is a steal.

I finally setup my Vive in our loungeroom today, as we had to rearrange the computer room when our daughter was born and there was no space for VR'ing. Bought and installed Fallout 4 VR overnight, can't wait to dive in over the Xmas break.

When you complete an entire set the button changes to READY and you press it and it "crafts a badge".

To see how many cards you have in a set, go to steam and under your user name in the menu hover over your name to pull down the menu, select BADGES.

This takes you to the page you can see all your badges.
Click one and it takes you to THAT game's badge page for you.
Scroll down and you can see which ones you need and which of your friends have them. You can offer a trade directly or talk to them offline first.

There are two other buttons I use most though.

VISIT TRADE FORUMS.

Allows you to go to the forum for that game's badges and offer cards for cards you need. Handy if you have two of the same one. THere are formatting rules posted.

The SEARCH THE MARKET button lets you go and buy them directly. YOu can buy at the lowest current price or (what I do) set the price you want to buy at and when someone offers that it automatically buys it for you. You have to already have funds in your bank to do that though. OTherwise you have to arrange payment.

Myself I just sell cards from sets I don't care about (ones that will take too much money to complete via buying) and just use that money to buy cards I need.
