Huh, interesting how business models change.

That's what happens when you move to an unhealthy state like KY, I guess.

Matt, I would just repost it.

I never understood nurse porn. The last thing I want to think about when I'm in that state is a hospital.

I've always hated Ryan Reynolds. He looks like a smarmy, goofus laughalot who thinks he's funnier than is. And I swear on the grave of Pele Lindberg that if he has deposited one ounce of himself in my lovely, lovely, sensual and sweet, lovely, lovely Charlize I swear to god I will kill him with his own hands.

I guess the Women's World Cup is a big deal, but today on the news (noon), they showed a cafe where people had "gathered to watch the game".....there were like 5 people at the bar, and maybe 4 people sitting at the tables (all but two tables being empty). Maybe they picked the wrong place to go to find soccer fans, but I found it pretty funny. (They had no trouble finding large gatherings during the real....I mean Men's World Cup)

frozen yogurt Chicago | Chicago frozen yogurt | yogurt Chicago | frozen yogurt shops Chicago

It's self serve, and they charge by the ounce. So you can combine flavors of yogurt if you want, and add whatever toppings you want. Pretty cool.

What? Welcome to 3 years ago...

The view copyright info link finally worked today. There was a link to dispute the claim, which I followed. Haven't gotten anything back, yet, but the message is gone from the video.

Jailbreaking is fun. Spent some time doing this, but it was fun. Seem some pretty wicked stuff, that I might try to make work, too.

So the great progressive lens eyeglass experiment has come to an unseemly end. Ultimately it was the peripheral vision limitations that killed it for me, specifically the inability to see the first/last couple of columns on spreadsheets (which are integral to my work). Standard bifocals + computer pair of glasses now on order. Aging is unpleasant but still beats the alternative I suppose.

At 10:19 am, the office manager at my place sends this email around:

"A suspicious package was found on Woodward in the Congress and Larned area this morning which caused the Detroit police to close Woodward from Campus Martius to Jefferson."

That's 1 block from where my office is.

At 10:25 am, I hear a massive explosion.

More details to follow...

Talk about weird. I was talking about my ex wife at lunch with my coworkers and maybe 10 or 15 seconds after I was done talking...who text messages me? The ex wife. Haven't heard from her in months. Weird.

If I didn't know better, I'd think I was bumping up on the edge of what amounts to a panic attack.

Good thing I know better I guess.

2.5 years later, lawyers are calling me with questions about the STILL pending lawsuits between the President and CEO of my old company.

The most amusing part is the fact that I can't imagine what they're suing each other for - there's no money. The original lawsuit, from what I know, was due to the Prez being terminated right before a merger deal went through, cutting him out of the sale money (he owned a small % of shares). However, the merger blew up and was rescinded 3 months later. The original company I worked for is long since dead, so what freakin' money are we looking for here?

So I'm listening to the radio and on comes an ad for the North Carolina Education Lottery. Apparently they are upping some prize by a factor of 10, so the announcer dude asks "I wonder what else would be cool if multiplied by 10? Well, after my 10 day weekend..." and the math just gets worse from there.

I think they need more education lottery money.

If I remember factoring correctly...that 10 day weekend factored by 10, is going to be one heck of a long weekend.

EDIT: I mean, he's screwing himself out of time off if he just multiplies the 10 days by 10.

This is the biggest freaking racket. How we pull in hundreds of millions a year from this and still run up a multi-billion dollar budget deficit is beyond me.

Agreed. I love how Indiana started river boat gambling a decade or so ago with the intent of using the money on education. Yet, what gets continuously cut in this state?

I think the idea is that announcer dude thinks 10 days is the result after you multiply a normal weekend by 10. However, he fails to realize that a normal weekend is 2 days, not 1.

Great math on display last night during Pirates-Astros broadcast.

During the 3rd inning, graphic shows pitches thrown for Brett Myers (HOU) and Karstens (PIT). Myers 65 - Karstens 18.

Former Pirate and native Pittsburgher John Wehner throws out "Wow! That's like 2-to-1...nearly"

I hate Wehner and wish he would suffer vocal cord trauma. He was analyzing players by RBI/AB vs LHP last year during a game. He's a total retard.

I used to get magazines a lot. I never liked to throw them away. I might want to read them later. And I did. Games magazines, computer magazines, science magazines....I put them into boxes and put them in the closet or under the bed. But it was only 12 a year from each publication, so it's not like I had that many.....right?

I have no use for them anymore, so I thought it'd be a good idea to remove them, but books I want to keep but probably won't read for awhile into them. Old computer programming books that still had relevant information, my old Analog and Asimov magazines that I'll get to reading through one day, language learning books for languages I'll get to in the future, my poker books that I'll keep in case I start playing again....and hey, I might as well clean the bedroom as I did it. I have some books that I want to throw away, old computer parts, stacks of VHS tapes on a bookshelf in the corner...I don't need this stuff.

It sounded like a good idea at the time. That was around 12:30pm today.

It's now almost 9pm. I have little walking room. Stacks of 50-100 magazines (per stack) cover on floor, about 20 books, my old broken XBox and several piles of VHS tapes I only got to clean about half of the room in the process. I thought it might takes 3-4 hours. It's looking like it's going to take all weekend.

Another great idea that ruins my weekend.
