I at least give UCF credit for putting their money where their mouth is and paying out the national championship bonuses in coaches' contracts.

UCF is the most illegitimate champion since the Bad News Bears in Breaking Training.

Georgia Tech would have beaten Colorado pretty easily that season. Notre Dame too. The best team in college football at the end of the year was pretty clearly Miami. They'd show it the next year or two, but what they did to Texas in the Cotton Bowl was ugly.

I didn't catch his name but #52 on Georgia really passes the eye test as a potentially disruptive NFL lineman.

So Arizona is already dealing with the shroud of FBI investigations related to their basketball program, they just fired a football coach in part because of the bad publicity coming from the sexual harassment lawsuit/etc, and Les Miles - reportedly a serious candidate for the football HC job - is considering bringing Hugh Freeze with him as OC? Really Les, you think that's a move that's going to help you win this job?

Dola - nevermind, it appears that someone got in his ear and he's now denying that he was considering Freeze for the Arizona job (if he gets it).

Mike Elko leaving ND to be DC at Texas A&M. He did a great job this year. It'll be interesting to see where ND turns now - it doesn't get the publicity head coaches do, but that DC carousel is even more crazy at times.

UCF is probably marooned in the AAC for the foreseeable future, but I don't think their national title claim is all that objectionable in a sport that's thrived on made-up championships claimed decades after anybody can say anything about it.

Many of those assistants are leaving to Nebraska anyway and Frost was bonus capped, so who knows how many are actually going to be able to even claim it. Still good PR.

Eh, your school gave itself a pretend National Championship. Half the SEC has too. It's part of college football. Alabama still claims one from the 40's when they had 2 losses and were ranked 20th. And the 1973 one even though they lost the Sugar Bowl. USC claims a title the year they weren't eligible for the BCS (which is similar to what UCF is doing).

College football has always been a beauty contest with schools giving themselves make believe accomplishments. I don't see this as any more embarrassing than those.

Tyler Clark is a 6-4 305 pound d-lineman. Though he did at times move like a LB in the Rose Bowl.

Is it time for us to make the call? Updated as of a day ago.

I know I never should bet against Saban but my heart is telling me to go with GA with the win (but I'll take the points also).

The all-SEC national championship game is set. Alabama vs. Georgia will square off on Monday night at 8:00 p.m. eastern for the ultimate bragging rights.

Will Nick Saban add to his already-impressive trophy case, or will Kirby Smart bring a national title to Georgia for the first time in decades?

Updated Odds
As of time of writing, the updated odds for the Alabama vs. Georgia national championship game are as follows:

Spread: Alabama favored by 4
Money Line: Alabama (-180) / Georgia (+150)
Over/Under: 44.5

It's National Championship day today!

I've overshot Texas by a bit, probably only going to see the first half today. Let's go Bison! Today is revenge day!

I know what you're talking about with the national champ, but what the heck is the map for? Looks like a map of nuclear detonations.

Ahh, it's a map from the NDSU app. It shows me down in Guatemala and the rest of the NDSU fans in Frisco for the game, and others all over.

Great quote in the Atlanta paper today:
"I'm not going to cheer for Georgia just because I'm from Georgia. I don't cheer for the devil just because he's in the Bible."

Didn't know this but apparently the SEC SEC chant originated from Arkansas when they left the SWC into SEC.

BTW, is it my imagination or does it seem as if there are new commercials for these playoff games?

There was one just now by Nissan and it had FL GA alumnus do a "skit" which I thought was pretty funny.

Yup, seems to be going well right now for the Dawgs.

Let's hope it continues since the Alabama defense has been on the field twice as long as GA.

Like I said, it's really hard to win against good teams -- and I might hate 'em passionately but Georgia is a good team -- when you have no offense to speak of.

Hes the best matchup against the Tide. Chubb needs a small hole to sneak through and well you will see some of the Alabama Ridley in the 2nd half.
