just added the Susie Name Comp fix under "utilities". It's the thing you need to have the real competition names and not have the Germany team all weird or something. I like playing in the "Carling Cup" in England, not in the rather generic "League Cup". That file does that. Follow the simple instruction on the download page.

I grabbed a "super pack" which someone included in the FM 2008 impressions thread but I haven't installed it yet. Does anyone have good facepacks for the UK, MLS and France?

I tried doing this, too, but after I patched my game to 8.0.1, I find that I don't have any files in the /db folder within the WWSM directory.

Open the db in the editor, don't make any changes then save it as a new name. Then you'll have a db in the WWSM directory in your my documents folder. Put the name fix into that db and start your game using that db and it all works as it should. |

Just noticed that Siple, a popular 07 skin by Rosenberg, has been released for 08.
http://sortitoutsi.net/index.php?pag...le&fileid=5887 Edit: And FYI, v1 seems to be a bit buggy (probably should be expected I guess). Last edited by sovereignstar : 02-18-2008 at 04:43 PM. |

Cool, that was the one I settled on for 07. I'm now using Scherm for 08 and like it quite a bit. I tried dd2 or whatever it was called but it was a bit busy for me. I don't know why I like collecting different skins so much.....

Not sure if this link belongs in here, but I love it when I'm playing in a league I'm unfamiliar with:

That footiemap site rocks.
What's the point of kits? Are they ever used outside that information page for each team? |

Is this thread worthy of being spotlighted at the OS front page? Is it something that people outside of FOFC might want to use as a resource?

On a typical installation or FM or WWSM2008 the kits go in: My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/graphics/kits This same area is where you would put modified logos (graphics/logos), skins, etc. as well. It's also where your saved games are stored. |

Does anywhere know where I can get the best logo pack at? It seems I saw one the other day that was 500 MB download and that you had to have a torrent program to get it. But I can't locate it right now.

The files Fozzie postedhave now been updated. There were a couple of config errors that I have fixed as well as adding the remaining missing players.
You can get all/any of my MLS files on filefront - I'll only leave up the latest versions. http://hosted.filefront.com/Aljarov If you downloaded the original, just download the 'MLS Late Additions' folder and that will do you right. |

You probably didn't put the inc in the update folder. Check your data/updates folder for a folder called 'update-910'. You may already know this, but you can't take advantage of the real names without starting a new game.

Thank you. I don't really understand how this works, though. Once again, I don't have an "update" folder in my "data" folder. I did the "check for update" from within the game because I thought SI released a patch but it told me that there were no updates found. I don't know what I can delete safely and what I need to keep. Everyone in that thread on Sort It Out SI says you can delete the entire contents of the "INC" folder but that's located in the "update" folder that I don't have! I tried to use this file last year but it didn't work for some reason. I hope I can get it to work this year.

Just make sure to delete all the files in the 'all' folder and replace it with whatever *.inc file you've downloaded. Then you have to use whichever database you just put the inc file in.

Ok, I found the "all" folder. Thanks. It contains two files: "fake.lnc" and "nLeague.lnc." I can safely delete both files and replace them with the "fixes.lnc" file I downloaded from the link you posted above, right? Can I undo this later if need be? Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to mess up the game in the process.

Rename the "all" folder "default_all" and make a new "all" folder. If anything goes wrong you delete the "all" folder you made and rename "default_all" back to "all". Hope that makes sense |

This is true for EHM but not for wwsm\fm. I put the fixes.inc file into my "in progress" wwsm 2009 game and it worked fine, same with wwsm08. Put the fixes.inc file into the "all" folder. If you are on Steam and using the 9.01 update make sure you put it in that folder. I was confused at first because Steam doesn't keep the updated data base in the default "db" folder. Instead you need to navigate to "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\wwsm\data\updates\update-910\db\910\inc\all". Once the file is in place start wwsm and go to "preferences>display&sound" and untick the skin cache option, tick the "always reload skin on confirm" and then hit the confirm button. The skin will redraw and the real league names\competitions will be in your game. You can then go back and retick the skin cache to make the game load faster. And untick the "always reload skin on comfirm" if you wish since it really has no effect unless you are changing something in the game. Hope that helps. |
