Lots of veterans take big hits this TC for me. Only one rookie I was counting on took a hit (the Kicker), although he was a desperation signing anyway.

Good camp for Dallas. This is probably the best team I've had here. I was surprised to see our vets retain most of their ratings. Next season we won't be so lucky, so we must win now.
The schedule is going to be a tough one as we travel to Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnatti and host Reno, San Fran, and Minnesota. Thankfully the division is down.

Well, my monster DT has taken a massive hit in my attempt to change him to a 3-4 RDE. We will see how his play goes. I don't mind the change, it is really hard to get 2 quality DEs without breaking the bank.

Really? I signed like 3 of them for around $2mil/year, and had to cut one because he had a conflict with the DT I imported from Atlanta who is now my DL leader.

My whole defense breaks my bank. What did it say he would retain for % before you switched him? Normally it'll indicate whether he'll take a huge hit.

Yes, 2 x 4-3 DEs that run a 4.50 forty are hard to sign to your team without affecting your other positions. 1 x 3-4 DE + 1 x blitzing WLB is more doable while still allowing for cap room for CBs, WRs, etc. As for your quality DE's, Somogyi is 6-3 and 263 pounds with a 4.78 forty and 6.94 agl, with a bit more weight he would be a good RDE in a 3-4 or drop some weight and move him to MLB. Bryant McCallum is 6-4 and 284 lbs, good 4-3 sized DE but his 4.72 forty and 7.50 agl mean that he will play okay and might get you 8 sacks, 15 hurries and 10 QB knockdowns consistently from his 2nd or 3rd season. He will not be a monster that causes QBs to throw alot of incompletions, which to me is one of the only ways (outside of WR drops and CB pass defenses) to stop an offense. O, Watson...? He took a veteran hit in TC, the drop was not from switching him to DE. And he's still good as a DE I think.

84%, which means he should be around a 69 (currently sitting less then that but oh well). I don't worry too much though. I expect him to play like he did as a 4-3 DT, stop the run, cause some havoc when he needs to, which he did really well and I hope that to continue. Last edited by Sef0r : 12-16-2009 at 01:14 AM. |

By the way, its great to see this type of power ranking now...most AI teams have some pretty good teams.

Decent camp, our defensive depth is the best its ever been, but we didn't find a return man, which will be a problem.. Would have also been nice to get a QB to totally be enamored with, but I think we have someone in mind to handle the job for the near future.

despite my spending spree the past 2 seasons I'm still sitting w/ a power rating of 47 in Chicago and looking at the roster I can't see where the $$ went besides a few good pickups this season. It's a long road to the top I guess.
