What better FOF7 or FOF8?

I've been hugely frustrated playing SP in FOF8 and I was suspecting that the stats the AI was generating were wonky.

In FOF8 you'll be maybe see a handful of receivers reaching 1000 yards in a season, 30 passing touchdowns seems to be astronomical.

The stats in FOF7 look much more like the real nfl to me.

I'm not trying to be glib or anything, I'm just a longtime lurker with a renewed interest. And I'm genuinely curious if there's an explanation for all of this and how FOF8 is superior.

FOF 8 gives you/us a lot more control over most things - actual play design and calling, most especially. Allows for much finer tuning of the offense and the player usage in it.

Defense is more of a lateral move, but again more serious football concepts to employ.

I don't feel like "realism of aggregated player stats when paying a season in single player mode" is a wise metric to measure the two games. But if that's truly the be-all to you, then maybe you have your answer.
