Nice job Hoops and PB. Atleast now it is obvious that J23 is running the show. I mean, he COULD just leave you a-holes down and out and take all the glory for himself moving forward.

I'm pretty sure J23 actually submitted an order to leave you two down and out. I think that is what all the posts are about in the main thread.

Well, before going down, I took out my guy. I have to assume J23 probably leveled up again with the spell casting and the fighting.

J23 has leveled up.

Level 5 (pick 1 additional):
You may choose one additional spell from the following list:
Heal, Magic Missile, Detect Magic, Light, Read Magic, Mage Armor, Fear, Sleep, Web, Identify, Cure Poison, Summon Monster, Protection From Arrows

You may choose a spell you already possess which will allow you to cast it 2x per room/combat instead of once.

J23, do what you would like, but I'm a big fan of: another heal, fear, or summon monster

It is your call and I did not list those in preferential order intentionally because I don't want to pressure you in any way. Those are just the three that I thought were pretty cool/helpful.

I'm not about to pull the classical blunder of spilling my plans before they are complete. That would be like starting a land war in Asia, or going against a Sicilian when death is on the line.

I'm definately leaning towards heal or summon monster.

I'm just worried that my summoned monsters might drop as quickly as my current partners. I'll have to think about it a bit more.

Yeah, Hoops and I were just immensely valuable that fight, from what I could tell.

I asked KWhit, we can sell items at a VERY reduced rate. For instance, my initial sword would go for 5 gold.

One is me. In the interest of not having someone else post under my account I log out everytime I leave the computer. I also normally leave a FOFC window up on my computer all day too.

That makes sense. I'm just surprised this game as there are times, like earlier today, where there are 6 named players signed in and an additional 8 guests. Usually we're around 0 guests, so I was a bit surprised.

Yeah, I'm really leaning towards a 2nd heal since I think it may save us the most time. A summoned monster would certainly be nice to have an extra round of attacks for combat, but healing damage from not only fights, but the traps we've come across seems to be swaying me.

Take the heal, we probably need the help.

I'm feeling pretty good about our equipment right now, but the "drastically slashed prices" ... do you think we're still going to get something of value for 15 gold?

I think we might be able to score a health potion. I will sell my sword to get us 5 more gold. Anybody else have any extra equipment. I would think/hope that 30 might buy us 2.

Man, they just keep pulling ahead. We're getting to a point where we need to have one of them die in order for us to make some headway.

I'm thinking I'll take the extra heal spell, drink a potion, heal both of you two, and we press ahead to gain some time since we have very little money. Since I have two healing potions, I can give the extra after I use one to PB since he seems to find ways to get himself hurt the most often.

Thoughts?

Hmm, I would have thought that health would come back upon being re-spawned.

If that is not the case, then how in the heck did the Wangs come back to defeat stuff yesterday when they got "double buttoned"?

Yeah, I was kind of hoping the same thing as well re: health after respawning.

J23, frankly, that may not be a bad idea. It uses a lot of what we have but if we can push ahead, score some gold, PLUS you can still cast heals during battle, we can probably make it through another room or so. Shit. Yeah, push ahead makes more sense than waiting and hoping for potions at the market.

This would be the plan I would vote for at this point. I'll be really curious to see how the other teams do with the next room. I'm expecting a couple people to have 2 knockdowns at this point, we're extremely lucky that J23 has 0 and Hoops and I only have 1.

Looking back, I wonder if the right strategy would have been to just spend all of our money on healing potions, which would be somewhat disappointing honestly.

Yeah, I was wondering. But I assume the game has more depth than that. But hey, it is a race and the goal is to survive.

Room 9:

You enter another hallway. This one has two branching corridors.

A sign hangs from one of them:

Short Cut

You can see into the corridor a bit. It is littered with bones.

The other corridor is labeled:

Long Cut

The floor of this corridor is clean.

Which direction do you travel?

I'd probably be up for that PB. I'd think I'd like to close the gap on the leaders some, and if they go the short cut, they'll likely be getting killed in fairly short order.

I hate taking the long path. It is gutless and is going to ding our fame. And it might be one of those "not what they appear" scenarios ...

The only reason I'm remotely considering it is that I don't have a good feel for how much time is left in this race or if we are going to have another crack at directly facing the Wangs.

I'm pushing for the short cut. We have no idea about the relative speed of the paths, or how much time is left in this game. We'll have full health heading into this encounter after J23's heal - we're in good position to take an encounter at the moment.
