I don't think it's knock against them. Especially since those 0-3 games were close.

But I certainly don't think you can tout their record as proof of their abilities either.

It's maybe a "softer" 13-3, but I'm not sure what that tells us....would they have had a much worse record if some of those 6 8-8 teams they beat won one more game during the season?

It's a roster move I'm sure. I'm sure he'll get his full playoff share and everything.

When i saw they cut a WR right before the super bowl, I just assumed that it was Ochocinco. The headline I saw was "Patriots cut WR on eve of Super Bowl"

Giants.com accidentally put up a version of the website based on the Giants winning the Superbowl and then taken it down after a brief period.

The Patriots are not a sentimental organization.

I'm sure it's as simple as they wanted another DE on the roster and this is the only way to do it. And Underwood was going to be inactive anyway. People are wondering though if doing it this late prevents the Giants from signing him (is there a waiver period)? Also, Silvestro ending the season on the 53 man roster gives them control over him for next season, otherwise he'd be a free agent. Apparently teams have added guys to the main roster right before their last game/playoff game for this reason. Also, they'll probably be looking to replace Gronk on special teams, and Silvestro can do that. (these are all thoughts I've read over at SOSH).

I'd hate to see the Patriots win, but winning one for Myra Kraft would be pretty special.

This years version of the SB smells like a bad sequel to a movie.

I name this SB:

NY Giants vs NE Patriots pt.II
Electric Boogaloo

Minor point unrelated to this game. I didn't realize there were two players named Will Allen in the league. I just assumed the Will Allen on the Steelers was the one who used to play for the Giants.

Silvestro sounds suspiciously like Sinestro. This smells like Bellichik evil genius in the works.

Yes, if the Giants lose- that will definitely be the reason

The consensus for Indy is that things have happened pretty much perfectly so far. The weather has been amazing- this time last year we were digging out from in ice storm. And all people can seem to talk about is how nice it is to have everything downtown in the Super Bowl Village and how friendly Hoosiers are. So, all in all, everyone is extremely pleased here

Ya, FWIW, all the Boston sports radio guys I was listening to on my mini podcast marathon were unanimous in praise. I think they were surprised by the dining options and nightlife and general atmosphere.

The local radio guys were asking every one of their guests their opinions on how well Indy has done as the Super Bowl host city and pretty much all of them said that Indy has been the best host city they've ever been to.

I hope it means Indy gets to host another one down the road. I'm proud of the job the city has done.

I think the city really looked at this as a chance to come out and show people that it can put on a good party and isn't just flyover country. I've been pleasantly surprised in the time I've lived here- it seems like the city has good municipal leadership and is forward thinking, on the whole. It's good to see that rewarded

I'm watching the game streaming on nbc's website. Looks like they aren't showing the broadcast commercials but a separate set of online ones. Kinda sucks.

Okay, the anthem helped me pick a team. Go Giants! More of them were respecting the anthem and more of the Patriots seemed to be looking around like they could care less, sad for a team with that name. Also, Eli looked focus while Brady looked like some cocky a-hole pretty boy.

If they didn't say who it was I wouldn't have guess that was her. Not sure when I saw a picture of her last but never would have guessed.

I know we like to micro-analyze everything today, but first the national anthem, then how Brady looks like a pretty boy (isn't that his default?), and now the coin toss?

This pains me to say but I think if you take the regular season play of Peyton and the playoff play of Eli you may have the perfect quarterback.

How do I put this delicately? If Eli and Peyton had to take the SAT or IQ test today, the one who doesn't score as high would be more unflappable because, well, he just doesn't get it... (tho, of course, being QB isn't building a rocket or performing brain surgery so there's only a baseline required)
