Thanks Duff. NCAA 10 is fun and worth a rental to try it out. In season recruiting is overwhelming at first but once you get used to it it is rather easy. |

Congrats on the recruiting haul. Looks like you might have a shot yet at closing the gap on the big boys in the ACC.
Notre Dame as champs = total fail for NCAA 2010. Iowa being 10-0 at one point is an epic fail as well, but to see their dreams dashed late was acceptable. |

That recruiting class bought you one more season. But the alumni are losing patience.
You used the classic TCY recruiting tactic for Duke -- swarm the talent with high academic interest. I have always wondered why this doesn't seem to work at all in real life. |

I am going to start adding FOFC'ers to to recruiting classes so if interested fill out the following: Name: Height: Weight: City/State(I'll use random if you don't know of one off the top) Position: Type of player (IE Scrambling QB, Power RB, etc) Pretty simple. I'll start adding guys once I finish the Madden season. |

Thanks on the grats. It was huge for us. We need some more of this though, and just a flash in the pan. And yes ND as champs sickened me. No one seemed to want it and they didn't play anyone at all. Their toughest test was vs an 8-5 USC team. |

Week 1: Duke (0-0) vs Western Kentucky (0-0)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - WKU (C-) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - WKU (D) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - WKU (D+) Duke 38- Western Kentucky 18 It's not quite a laugher but it was never in doubt, as we play tough and handle our business with relative ease. Renfree was 18/34 for 334 yards with a TD. Those are good, not great numbers all things considered. Hollingsworth ran 35 times for 116 yards and a score. Varner caught 6 balls for 114 yards and a TD. Williams added 6 grabs for 84 yards. Freshman Chaz Morse had 4 tackles, 2 TFL, a sack and 2 INT in his debut. Stud MLB John Smith was held to 2 tackles before missing the rest of the game with a minor injury but hes all healed now. His backup Banks though hd 3 sacks. Basically our D just beat up on WKU keeping the game out of reach and we rolled. Last edited by DeToxRox : 08-22-2009 at 06:20 PM. |

Week 2 : Duke (1-0) vs #4 Virginia Tech (0-0)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - VT (A-) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - VT (A+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - VT (A+) VT 37 - Duke 14 Renfree was 11/26 for 236 yards with 2 TD and an INT but against a swarming VT D he was under duress all night and never was allowed to get into a rhythm. Williams had 5 grabs for 110 yards and a score, while Varner had 4 grabs for 106 yards. Also scoring was Trezvant. John Smith lead us with 10 stackles, and Daniels also added 10 tackles and a pick, but outside of one sack from Foxx we hardly had any pressure on the QB and it cost us dearly. - Oregon again wins by the skin of their teeth, knocking off Nevada 23-20 - Michigan beats Notre Dame 27-24 in OT - North Carolina beats GT 20-7 - Alabama beats Penn State 38-20 Recruit Updates - USC offers Dan Schoonover and jumps back into the lead for his services. - Oklahoma, Auburn and Boise State all offer Dave Tasan, but all three still lag behind Penn State, in that order. - It's still Auburn and Alabama for Dayne Ho. - Texas and Florida offer Bug Kappe, with Texas moving to number 1, just slightly ahead of Boise State though Florida is not far behind either. - Va. Tech offers Deacon Palmer and now lead over OU and ND. - Still nothing for Dat King, though I guess it isn't unusual for that at this point. - It's still just OSU for Rob Nielsen who has a decent lead for his services. - Likewise it's just USC for Jace Hunter who has a decent lead over Florida and OU. - Penn State offers Nicolas Fillion, giving them a decent lead at this point. - USC offers Sam Jolley but are still third behind OSU and ND. |

OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - EMU (C-) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - EMU (C+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - EMU (C) Duke 35 - EMU 0 Renfree goes 15/26 for 220 yards with no TD and no INT but it did not matter as he kept getting the ball inside the 20 and the run game did the rest. With Hollingsworth going out with an injury, Desmond Scott ran 33 times for 95 yards and 3 TD, and Kurunwune added a TD himself. Williams also had 7 grabs for 102 yards and Varner added 3 for 62. On D Freshman CJ Daniels had 6 tackles (4 TFL) and 2 sacks, while we had 3 picks including a pick six from true frosh FS Brooks that covered 81 yards. All in all a great win. |

With a week 13 visit set, will he even wait that long to commit? - Texas offered Dayne Ho and jumps over Alabama but not ahead of Auburn. - Boise State is back on top for Bug Kappe, but LSU has entered the fray with an offered and sits 3rd, ahead of Florida but behind Texas. - It's still VT, ND and OU for WR Deacon Palmer with VT just a shade ahead on both schools. - Still nothing for Dat King. Perhaps a Duke offer is due? - Still just OSU for Nielsen. - Still just USC for Hunter, and USC is quickly putting space between Florida and OU. - Ohio State has offered Fillion but still sits behind Penn State though it's a very close race. - Va Tech has entered the mix for Sam Jolley but sits 4th. Week 4: Duke (2-1) @ Virginia (1-1)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - UVA (B) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - UVA (B+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - UVA (B+) Duke 32 - UVA 29 We didn't do much to score, but Nick Maggio goes 6/6 in FG's and we pull off a huge road win 32-29 over UVA. Once again Renfree throws for over 200 yards but with no TD or no INT but he did run one in. Hollingsworth would also score once on 27 carries for 78 yards. Varner was solid as usual with 4 grabs for 79 yards. Meanwhile we had 7 sacks as a team, with 3 from Foxx, 2 from Cox and one each from Morse and Drew. Morse also added another INT and ditto for Daniels. A huge ACC win on the road. |

That said a few offers could change that. - Penn State continues to work on Tasan though Oklahoma is quietly making a push. That said this is PSU's to lose. - It's now Texas, Auburn, Aabama and Notre Dame in that order for MLB Dayne Ho. - Meanwhile it's still the same top 4 for Bug Kappe, with Boise narrowly ahead of Texas. - Va Tech has made huge gains in picking up a commitment from Deacon Palmer and it now seems they are quite favorably in the lead. - Finally gaining an offer, Dat King's top 3 is Penn State, Va Tech and Duke. It'll still be a miracle if Duke can secure his commitment but stranger things have happened. - OSU is slowly distancing themselves from the pack with Rob Nielsen but an offer from Alabama could change that. - USC is getting closer and closer to a commanding lead for Jace Hunter, though Florida and Oklahoma still can make a move. - It's PSU over OSU by a nose for Nicolas Fillion but Tennessee and USC are both in good position should they offer. - It's OSU, ND, USC and VT for Sam Jolley. At this point an offer from LSU could shake up the top 4 but it's unlikely. |

I have no idea why my created players always favor Notre Dame. Just because they're the closest football power to my home doesn't mean I even remotely like them.

Week 5: Duke (3-1) vs #21 Florida State (4-0)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - FSU (A+) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - FSU (A+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - FSU (A+) FSU 21 - Duke 0 Another 0 TD - 0 INT game for Renfree, only this time he only completes 11/18 for 110 yards as FSU's D just killed us. Desmond Scott saw 32 carries for 71 yards, as FSU kept blowing up our OL and making him pay. Morse was again amazing with 9 tackles (2 TFL), sack and an INT, while Foxx had 2 sacks but that was about it. |

- WVU hands Rutgers its first loss 45-33 - Illinois is 5-0 beating Michigan 24-16 - Penn State beats Iowa 20-17 - Pitt beats Notre Dame 30-17 - Boise moves to 5-0 beating La. Tech 45-17 - NC moves to #1 beating Va Tech 13-6 Players of the Week OFFENSE: HB Mark Rodgers (WVU) 31 carries for 199 yards, 4 TD vs Rutgers DEFENSE: FS David Jacobs (Ole Miss) 5 tackles, INT, 2 FF, FR Recruit Updates - It's Florida and USC tied now for Dan Schoonover, with those two well ahead of the rest. It's doubtful even a schollie offer now elsewhere could sway him from those two schools. - Dave Tasan is still favoring PSU over OU, Auburn and Boise, though OU is making a little surge, and with a week 6 visit to Norman upcoming they could get into this after all. - Still the same top 4 for Dayne Ho, with Texas having a slight lead over Auburn but he isn't near a decision yet. - Bug Kappe's list remains the same, though Texas and Boise both have increased their leads over LSU and Florida slightly. - It's heating up for Deacon Palmer, as it's a 3 dog race with Va. Tech narrowly ahead of ND and Oklahoma, who has quietly surged. He has visits to OU week 6, ND week 7 and VT week 10. - Duke is now up front for Dat King, but every team in his top 10 has the same interest levels. Should one of the others offer there is a great chance Duke is knocked back down. - OSU is picking up steam with Rob Nielsen, who still has no other offers, but he does have a week 11 visit to Bama set up and a week 9 visit to USC as well. - USC is also well ahead of the pack for Jace Hunter though Florida and OU are yet to offer. A week 6 visit to OU could garner that offer though and make this an interesting recruitment still. - It's Penn State by a nose for Nicolas Fillion over Ohio State but neither are that far ahead. Tennessee and USC have visits set up so if they offered do not count them out. - It's now USC and Ohio State for Sam Holley, with Notre Dame and Va Tech in 3rd and 4th. USC and OSU are basically tied, though he has visits to all four schools set up. This one is going to be a war. |

Week 6: Duke (3-2) @ Miami (3-1)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - MIA (A) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - MIA (A+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - MIA (A+) Miami 42 - Duke 31 This one sucked as Miami scored 21 fourth quarter points to take the game and ruin an upset bid. Renfree was very good for us going 14/27 for 220 yards and 2 TD with no INT yet again. He also ran for 38 yards and a score as Desmond Scott was held to 78 yards on 30 carries. Varner was great with 7 grabs for 101 yards with 2 TD. Morse had 8 tackles (TFL), Foxx had 7 tackles (2 TFL), sack and Cox added 9 solo tackles. |

- North Carolina sneaks by Clemson 20-17 in OT - South Carolina moves to 6-0 beating Kentucky 35-21 - Cincinnati is 6-0 beating USF 44-23 - Texas beats OU 24-16 - LSU is 5-0 after beating Florida 35-31 Players of the Week OFFENSE: QB Exavier Johnson (Utah State) 18/33 for 355 yards, 4 total TD vs Nevada DEFENSE: DE Willie Packer (Iowa) 9 tackles (8 TFL), 4 sacks, FF vs SMU Recruit Updates - Florida is closing inon Dan Schoonover but USC is right there. USC has a week 9 visit while UF has a week 13 visit on tap. Duke sits in 10th as the only other offering school but that train looks to have left the yard. - Penn State is almost done locking up Dave Tasan but the visit to OU was great and they barely trail. The week 13 visit to PSU could decide who wins out on the TE. - Texas has made a move and separated itself from the pack with MLB Dayne Ho. Still with visits to take it's not totally out of question he ends up elsewhere. - Boise State and Texas are now easily out in front of LSU and Florida for Bug Kappe. Boise has a slight advantage, and a week 12 visit, but he will be at UT week 11. - OU is right behind VT for Deacon Palmer, after a great visit, but VT has a week 10 visit on the horizon with Palmer and that could end this recruitment. - Duke has a slight edge on the field for Dat King but as usual, until other offers roll in this one is not even close. - It's still OSU for Rob Nielsen but we'll see what shakes out after the week 9 visit to USC, as should they offer, it could change this race. - Jace Hunter is still looking like a USC lock as OU never offered after his visit. - It's now looking like it'll be PSU or OSU for Nicolas Fillion who's interest in both schools flourished after last week. He'll be at OSU week 9 and PSU week 13. - OSU is back out in front of USC and Notre Dame for Sam Jolley. Jolley has a visit with ND week 7, USC week 9, VT week 10 and OSU week 13. This one is too close too call. |

Week 7: Duke (3-3) vs #24 Georgia Tech (3-2)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - GT (A-) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - GT (B+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - GT (B+) Duke 31- GT 28 (OT) Finally we beat these bastards. Renfree only threw for 161 yards with a pick, but Kurunwune, filling in for Desmond Scott who was banged up, ran 36 times for 161 yards and a TD. Also scoring on rushes was Renfree and Green. Meanwhile CJ Daniels had 7 tackles (2 TFL) and a sack. Butler and McIntyre also had sacks, and Gamble had a pick six. Just a huge effort from the defense and a great all around effort from our RB's and OL and we pull this one out. |

- FSU stomps Miami 52-31 to move to 7-0 - Cincinnati is 7-0 after downing Louisville 28-7 - Michigan beats PSU 24-13 - Illinois is 6-1 after downing Purdue 37-31 - USC beats Notre Dame 27-23 to move to 6-0 Players of the Week OFFENSE: HB Montel Harris (BC) 387 all purpose yards, 3 TD vs Wake Forest DEFENSE: LOLB Shelly Lyons (ASU) 13 tackles (5 TFL), 2 sacks, INT, FF vs Stanford Recruit Updates - USC has full interest with Schoonover and a week 9 visit coming up. He could pull the trigger before his week 13 visit to UF. - Oklahoma is now tied for #1 with Penn State for Dave Tasan. Also look out for Boise State who is closing the gap. He will visit Boise week 11 and PSU week 13. - Texas increases their lead for Dayne Ho. - Boise increases their lead over Texas for Bug Kappe. Should be interesting to see how this one plays out. - It's now a 3 way tie with VT, Oklahoma and Notre Dame for Deacon Palmer. Palmer has visited OU and ND but has a visit to VT in week 10 that could clinch it for the Hokies. - Duke still leads for Dat King, continuing to slowly build a lead for him but any other team in the Nation could have him at this point. - Still just OSU for Rob Nielsen. It's getting closer and closer to being over but it's no sure thing. - USC and Jace Hunter are going to wind up together at this point, it's just a matter of when. - PSU has a small lead over OSU for Nicolas Fillion. We'll see how this plays out. - Nothing changed on the Jolley front. We'll see how this one works itself out, it's still way too close to guess on. |

Week 8: Duke (4-3) @ Boston College (3-4)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - BC (B-) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - BC (B+) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - BC (B) Duke 37 - BC 14 Renfree was solid on the road today going 16/28 for 197 yards with 2 TD and no INT. He isn't flashy with his arm but he makes plays and doesn't turn it over and that's a big reason why we win. Kurunwune runs 14 times for 55 yards and 2 TD, while Green adds 13 carries for 30 yards and a TD. Meanwhile Varner continues to play exceptionally well as he catches 6 balls for 75 yards and 2 TD. He is a consistent weapon and one I am going to miss big time next year. CJ Daniels had 10 tackles (2 TFL) and a sack. John Smith had 9 tackles and a TFL. Foxx had 6 tackles (4 TFL) and 2 sacks, and Morse added 5 solo tackles. I love the production the kids are giving us, though Foxx is obviously not a kid but he is only a Sophmore. |

This will be a back and forth recruitment until he signs. - PSU is back on top for Tasan but Boise keeps narrowing the gap, and now Auburn is coming on strong. Tasan will be at Auburn week 12. - Alabama and Auburn are back on Texas tail for Dayne Ho. He just visited Bama, but he'll be at Texas week 11 and Auburn week 12. - Nothing changes on the Bug Kappe front. We'll see as more visits are had. - Same scenario with Deacon Palmer. We won't know much until after his week 10 visit with VT. - Duke keeps making a move with Dat King who will visit us this week vs Wake. - Nothing new on the Nielsen front. OSU is pulling away and I doubt anyone stops them. - USC still leads easily for Hunter. - PSU is closing in on Fillion, but he'll be at OSU this week. Can they do enough to sway him? - Nothing changed on the Jolley front except for VT making a legit push. They're right behind USC for #3, though Jolley is at USC this week. He will then go to Va. Tech week 10. Should be interesting as this recruit keeps on going. |

Week 9: Duke (5-3) vs Wake Forest (4-3)
OFFENSE: Duke (B-) - WF (B-) DEFENSE: Duke (B-) - WF (B) OVERALL: Duke (B-) - WF (B-) Duke 24 - WF 20 Renfree had 131 yards and a TD in the air, once again managing the game and letting the running game and D win it. Kurunwune had 30 carries for 105 yards and a score, and Hollingsworth in some PT back from injury also scored for us. Hollingsworth also caught a TD ball. On D it was a solid all around effort, but Foxx had 2 more sacks, and Hatcher and Butler also added sacks. A good win all around. |

Big game coming up in a couple of weeks. The Athletic Director has been instructed by the Iron Dukes to lock the door of your office if there isn't a good showing.

Kind of surprised at the lack of offers so far...is my potential rating crap or what?
