selling an elicense game and your personal information?
I own DDSPB 2 and a guy would like to buy it from me. It is no longer available for sale and he'd like to have it for a online league that uses v2. Yes, I would uninstall it so he gets both licenses.
My question. Since he would be receiving my unlock codes is there any way those codes could be used to trace back and get either personal info or the CC number used to purchase the game? Not even sure I want to go through with it, I know I don't want to if there is a way personal info can be obtained. But then if there are no security issues I would probably help the guy out. Thanks. edit: No, he is not a poster here and someone I have no history with on any board other than him posting looking for v2 on the ddspb forum (which he just joined Jan 1, 2013). Yeah, just looked up his join date when I added this. That makes me even more doubtful. Last edited by Sweed : 03-10-2013 at 08:57 PM. |

I doubt they would give any personal info, and it seems extremely unlikely you are still using the same CC from back then
As far as personal info goes, he's bound to know some of your personal info in order to pay you. Last edited by stevew : 03-10-2013 at 09:16 PM. |

You are worrying more than you need to. It's a transaction. You are giving him the license. They wouldn't be sharing any information about your license just because he has the license number.

As long as you notify elicense of transfer its no problem. If you don't he won't be able to get the license activated or future tech support without your information.
The license is tied to the personal info. including IP address. Gary might be able to help with communication with elicense. |
