New Free online MMA management sim
This game has been "beta-ish," but the wraps are slowly being pulled off.
MMA Tycoon :: The MMA Management Game - Free to play, online multiplayer Mixed Martial Arts game In a nutshell, it's a very solid and entertaining sim. For free, you are able to create and manage 4 fighters -- determining their physical attributes, initial skills, "intangibles," etc. You can sign them on to fight alliances, join fight organizations [such as UFC, Pride, although the ones in the game are fictional], train them in gyms, buy supplements, etc. There is a "VIP" level as well, where [for a very reasonable amount of $] you can manage as many as 10 fighters, or run your own business: Fight org, gym, clothing or nutrition company. This, to me, is the real fun. I run a fight org in St. Petersburg [Oprichnik FC] and it has been a blast. The community is pretty active and the developer is extremely hands-on and unbelievably responsive to the community. The game is improving significantly on a weekly basis. ONE NOTE OF CAUTION: If you run a company, there's lots to do. But, if you are just managing fighters, then weeks can go by when they're not fighting [obviously]. You can tweak their training and sparring schedule and get them on the right supplements, but that's about it. There's not much else to do. Some of the young button-mashers over there can't stand the pace, but I figured this would be right up the alley of fellow text-simmers. |

Actual real life weeks.
[Although the fighters age a year every 18 real-life weeks or something like that -- otherwise their age would never really become a factor.] |

I should have read your post more...
I just signed up, created 2 fighters and based them out of Montreal... I think I will get a third and base him out of St. Petersburg

VIP status here is beneficial based upon what I was reading, whether or not you start a company.
For only $30 a year, well worth it... I am going to do some research before I even think of starting a company, but I will be setting up shop in Vegas I think.

It's a lot to absorb at first -- I'm happy to offer any pointers.
Plus, reading the manual is really, really helpful. I know it goes without saying, but it's much more instructive than other text sims. There's much less need for fishing around in the dark trying to figure out what different attributes REALLY do on the football field [*cough, cough*] er, excuse me, in the cage . . . . |

Cool Muns...
Also, I think I will start up a clothing line, I don't have the time for the organization, I do have the time for a gym, but the lack of clothing lines in the St. Pete area have me really thinking on doing something there. Just have to work on the designs..

If you haven't yet, register for a fight with your fighters with the QFC (Quick Fights) just to start getting wins....also, if you are still with the default Gym, hit one of the Elite Gyms in your fighters area and sign up there. As for the clothing company I hope it is a Bank Roll, I like the designs I have already done compared to the others... Firebird Designs is now open and has 2 shirts and 2 shorts up and for sell, we will sponsor your fighter as well Muns.

I switched gyms earlier and went with CHOWPRAYER Dojo. I also bought some "maximum range" which is muscle bulk from "vodka fuel". It was cheap for only 50 bucks compared to everything else that was being sold. It looks like that helps with strength. I like the designs. That black one is really sharp. I think those will def take off and make you some money. I agree some of the other ones look horrible. Thanks for the sponsorship and the advice. Ill head over and sign up for a fight now. |

A note about supplements: Beware the cheapest ones. I understand that there are different quality ratings which, obviously, the supplement company does not have to disclose.
Freakin' supplements out of Tokyo is a FOF guy. For the record, FOF has an amazing concentration in St Pete: Oprichnik FC [me] and Iron Curtain Promotions; Hard Rocking Designs; Dynasty and Black Knight Elite gyms; and the Dynasty Fight League are all real solid guys from the Dynasty Football League. Just a FYI. |

Damn.. I really don't care at all about MMA, but the VIP-part of this game sounds really intriguing.. I love business-sims.. but do you have to have fighters to run a company?

It will be fun as i have never designed clothes in real life, but got some ideas. You have skills too, let's see if we both can end dominating the clothing scene Btw guys, what do you think of this phrase in the new shirt? does it make any sense? I need to work more on integrating the fire, doesn't feel 100% natural yet so i'm not sure if to put it for sale. Also worked on this one: Btw, ideas are welcome.

Okay, given that I know jackshit about clothing design or graphics, take this FWIW but ... I'd shrink the Sinners logo by about half & try something (transparency? some trick in layering? something?) to make it look less stuck onto the shirt. Like the integration of the flames issue you mentioned, my eyes lock onto to the logo as being even more tacked on instead of integrated. In real world terms, I'd want the logo to look more like it was embroidered subtly than an iron-on patch (which is kind of how it strikes me now). Also, shrink the text by about 1/8th of an inch so that the text box it's in doesn't overlap the flames at the bottom of the text so much. Either that or extend the reach of the lower flame even higher than it is now and make the overlap of text & flames more complete. Right now, with the text just barely covering the upper wisp of flame it seems accidental rather than intentional. I don't know if there's even an option for this but I like the basic design of the flames on gray/black shirt well enough that I'd almost like it without the text on the front & have the text be one or two horizontal lines across the back of the shirt in somewhat smaller font (i.e. put it where the name on the back of a football jersey goes). And please know that every bit of that advice comes with the full understanding that what you've got right now is about 100x better than anything I could ever do myself.

Again, I don't know jack about this game nor clothing design but Macro I'd wager you've got some winners there, especially the white shirt.

If you wear this clothing in the game is at as Douchey as the people who are wearing TapouT and Affliction clothing to real life events? Throwing the Affliction or TapouT Beanie on is just simply douche-icing on the cake
Douchey Like this Rudy look alike: or this guy:

You got me! I thought I was being somewhat subtle, but I couldn't resist "the Punisher" nickname. Is it too early for me to be putting guys into orgs? I know the site recomended doing Quick Fights first, but that might just be to build up a record to sell the fighter to an org. |

Damn, that's pretty douchey all right.
Wow. In this game, I think the "real" MMA fighters are allowed to wear MMA gear without any movement on the douche-ometer. In fact, keeping their threads up to date in the game is one of the few ways to give them a bump in morale. |

Macroguru, how can we earn money as clothes companies? just selling our clothes or do we get anything else? do you know how much should we pay to our sponsored fighters?
