Many Many thanks Greg for the GP Analyzer and all the utilities for that matter. The GP analyzer will help me alot since I'm new to the game and want to improve GP. Awesome work, thanks again.

No, right now it's all season. I could look into something like this, but keep in mind sample size is an issue as well. Make a change and a game or two may not show you all that much.

GamePlanAnalyzer encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Then it gives me the option to send error report to microsoft.

Found this and it worked....

What I did for XP was this: (I IMd Zullo... he is really smart)

1. Goto c:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\Stelmacksoft\utilitysuite

2. Right click and select New, then text document.

3. On line 1 of the text document write in your install path... mine looks like this:
C:\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007

4. On line 2 of the text document, write the path to where your data is stored. Mine looks like this: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007

5. Save the file as FOFPATH.

6. Try to open the analyzer again.

Note in the two paths "User" is probably your name. I just changed the name to "user" in these instructions.

That's the sort of thing CheckPaths is there for, and that question has been asked and answered three times in this thread over the last couple of days.

On a different note, I did find a case where the utilities that work with the new stats (Interrogator, Extender, GameplanAnalyzer, DBUpdater) could crash when run on really old seasons where games were played with guys that are no longer in FOF's data. Will be fixed in the next version.

Version 2.0.2 Released!

2.0.2 (June 19, 2011): Download
  • GamePlan Analyzer now has completion percentage, interceptions, and interception percentage on the team offense / defense stat pages.
  • New stats available across all appropriate utilities:
    • TotalFieldPositionAfterKickoff (replaces AverageFieldPositionAfterKickoff)
    • OffensivePassPlays
    • OffensiveRunPlays
    • DefensivePassPlays
    • DefensiveRunPlays
    • SuccessfulPasses
    • SuccessfulCatches
    • SuccessfulRuns
    • BadPassesCaught
  • Extender will now output all of the recent new stats in addition to the above in its CSV output. If you want to use these stats in your weights, add new rows for each one, using the column name you see in the stat output CSV as the field name at the start of the row in the weights CSV.
  • Extender is now better about telling you what it is doing.
  • Fixed issue with tackle for loss awarding in incorrect cases.
  • Kneeldowns no longer counted as runs for stats.
  • Reverses removed as possible run directions. I was wrong on how these were reported, and since they are the primary way receivers gain rushing stats (and I'm pretty sure that a receiver carrying the ball is how you know it's a reverse), I've just pulled those directions from the stat outputs.

For the gameplan analyzer, would it be possible to only look at data from the 1st half, before the two minute warning? (or possibly other time of game restrictions). That's sort of how I analyzed people's game plans in the past... Because you never know at what time of the game they will start to make adjustments based on the score.

This is a very powerful and time saving tool, by the way.

I've been thinking about this and how I might want to do it, yes.

Hea Stelmack. I was hoping you could add defensive formations to the "Team Defense" tab. "Rush Versus Defensive Coverage" and "Pass Versus Defensive Coverage" would be great to see on our own Team Defense page. I would like to see how my defensive coverage formations do against the run and pass in games that my own team has played. Currently I would have to go to check the league wide data as a reference to what coverages have certain success rates vs the run and pass. I would prefer to see how my own team does to try to pin down what exactly is working best for my defensive personnel. Thanks in advance.

There is usually a stack available with errors like that. That would be helpful to track it down.

No, that's not it. Not sure why it's not giving you a good stack.

But it's saying file not found. There aren't many files it would be looking for, so maybe a reinstall of the suite will help here.

Thanks for the great work, gstelmack!

I just ran the GP Analyzer and I sense a slight disturbance in the Force. Analyzer gives me a total of 18,257 pass attempts in the league, but the in-game the total in the team passing screen is 18,321. The number of completions does match, so the passcomp% is off by .2%

It's a bit odd.

Not sure, I'd have to track them down. I throw out all penalties that aren't added on to the end of the play, and I throw out spikes. There may well be something I'm throwing out that I shouldn't. Maybe fake punts / kicks?

I've never even seen a single fake punt/kick in MP, so I think not. But it's very possible that the game includes spikes. If that's the case, then all the better! GP's numbers would then be more reliable than FOF's.

My team was 13-3 so we rarely trail, and the number of attempts are reported accurately. Further, I don't recall us ever spiking the ball -and I watch every game in Solevision. So it may well be spikes.

I've read thru the thread and I have run into an issue.

I'm on Vista

Trying to run the GP Analyzer

First thing I did was run the Check Path

The Check Path shows just Line 1 blank

I went to C:\Program Files\StelmackSoft\FOF2k7 Utility Suite to create the FOFPath.txt, but the only option I have is to create a new folder. Once I do that I see no Line 1 or 2?

How do I create a line to insert my paths?

Help please.

I don't think that's going to work. The game is in a weird state until the dispersal draft has finished, and I'm not set up to handle that state. Everything will be fine after the dispersal draft.

As part of the WOOF site move, my site is moving as well. It may be down for a day or two while DNS propagates, so if you have troubles just wait and try again later.

I can't run Extractor. I'm using WIN7 64-bit. I think I have all the proper security settings but I'm not positive. Path Checker says I'm using the right paths. Gameplan Analyzer works and Draft Analyzer works.

When I open Extractor and click on Extract, it freezes. If I open Extractor using "Run as Administrator" and click on Extract, the following error message appears:

"Could not read from shared memory: 536 Waiting for a process to open the other end of the pipe."

Any help would be appreciated.

I develop on Win7 64-bit and don't have an issue. A virus checker could be blocking the DLL injection I'm using for this, not sure what else.

Stupid question of the day...

i open the game, open interrogator, i click on file, it asks me for a game...

and I have an empty box...

it's gotta be something simple, but in plainspeak, not the unfamiliar jargon I don't grasp well, tell me how stupid I am and help me fix it..

hello mcfly would be a good way to start the explanation process

Don't open the game, just run Interrogator. If you have an empty box, run the CheckPaths utility that comes with the suite and see what it says. If it's empty, you need to create an FOFPath.txt file, put it in the documents\stelmacksoft\utilitysuite folder, and put the paths to the FOF install and the app data area that FOF puts all its data. There are details on this throughout the thread.

looking for a workaround on the csv teamimagemap. We have a team, D.C. Titans, and when I enter them on the .csv file as D.C., extender won't open. When i enter them as DC, it opens, but that little red x appears, and it isn't linking to the image... ideas?

Did you put quotes around "D.C." in the CSV file? That may help. Otherwise, not sure, would have to debug.

Okay, on Extender we solved the problem with D.C. by writing the csv line
"DC", but on Extractor we get the red x marks the spot image on the same team...

I think it's because ingame DC is D.C. Just an fyi...I can copy and paste one image pretty quickly....

Yes. DBupdater is for league commishes to run for the league HTML, I think. Gameplan analyzer is just load up and go, basically. There are some instructions in this thread about how to set it up if it isn't working out of the box...those should probably be included in a read-me.

I found the help file on setting up the text file with the 2 directory lines. That fixed everything, and thankfully I have no use for DBUpdater. Thanks!

A DBUpdater problem... I have several duplicate rows in the various tables and have been trying to clean it up - however, something has been broken now:

MySQL connection closed.
DB connection opened.
Game Stage set to 1994 Week 13

I'll have to look at the code tonight. Likely it was expecting a certain set of rows in the transaction table given the stage and did not find any, so it got back an empty query rather than one with the last transaction loaded. If you deleted all transactions for a particular season, that might cause it. The key is that if you are trying to clean out a season from the database, you essentially need to roll the whole database back to the state before the season started, then rerun. DBUpdater can handle loading everything from the current season with no issues.

For the most part cleaning out a season is easy, just delete everything for the current year, but I'd also need to look into what you need to do to the gameinfo table to make it think it's starting over with a new season.

Yes, that's probably it... I found that all transactions were stored twice for the previous year, and was going to start over with that season when the above error happened.
