Greg.

Do you have a xxx.weights file with the old 'default' where it sets everything to zero?
I used that in my draft model and now it's nerfed. I can go in an reset it but hoping for an easy fix.

OK. Someone helped me out
For someone who would want / need the old defaults: Look here
http://www.fof-tfl.net/DraftAnalyzerDefault.weights

You have to save as.

I've been meaning to report this issue for a while, but keep forgetting. It's a repeatable crash that has been in Draft Analyzer for several versions (maybe forever).

1. Sort by a bar
2. Paste in new analyzer info
3. Hit "mark drafted"

It crashes when it tries to order them again.

Not forever, I didn't let you sort by bar until somewhat recently. I'll try and take a look.

So, I donloaded the latest suit...2.0.7, and can't seem to get Extractor to work. The paths are set up correctly, and the tool created the fofPATHS.txt file in the correct spot. I am tring to extract the current draft class.

What happens is, I open the 1st player card in the draft screen, open Extractor, and click the Extract button. Nothing happens, as it just sits there. I don't get any error messages, and the program seems to be in a locked state...

I am running Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit. Gameplan Analyzer works fine, btw....

Any ideas?

Figured it out. Set program to run in compatibility mode, and run as admin.

I need some help with the utility suite, I'm trying to get it set up on my XP machine at work and it's been years since I've messed with anything FOF related. It's crashing when I try to run the resource patcher, any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't know where the FOF EXE is (notice the text box is blank). Try using the FOF Exe Path and browsing for it, or run CheckPaths and tell it where everything is first.

I must not have had the latest version, I uninstalled re-installed the most recent and was able to get that to work.

However the only package available in the resource patcher is the "cyril" it appears I'm missing the xml files for the other 3.. not sure how, or why that happened... I need to get some work done so I'll mess with it later and see what I can come up with

Source Released

I'm hitting my complete boredom point with FOF. I'm hanging in with IHOF for now, but really I don't have all that much interest to come up with new things for the suite. So, time to release the source in case anyone else wants to do anything with this.

Note that there is the beginnings of a ChangeTracker replacement in here, since folks are having trouble with the old one. It includes a graphical display of all bar development. Someone might want to run with that, not sure.

And of course this includes all the binary reader bits, including how far I've gotten with Solevision.

Sounds like it's trying to insert an object with a key that already exists. It's inserting a row into FOFPlayerGameStats that is already there and it's not expecting it to be.

Is it possible to change the default location for the UtilitySuite Save Path? It doesn't look like it in Check Paths, but maybe in config file somewhere?

Is there a way to "trick" DBUpdater to use .csv files that I've generated from Interrogater? I don't think I have all the EOS files.

Thanks
(P.S. thanks for the great utilities)

You must have all the EOS stat files (.2007, .2008, etc) for a good Interro run because that's where (I think) it gets its data.

DBUpdate is similar with the quirk that the game's current stage has to be loaded during that season (i.e, after the bowl but before season advance) for it to process that season's EOS data. It won't process EOS data from older seasons, I don't think.

What you *can* do is try to build your database manually from the Interrogator CSV files, although there's weird stuff with Transactions that I've never been able to figure out.

DBUpdater will go through every file available to it. If you run it for the first time on a league with history, the only thing you lose out on is retirement years for players, and you'll be missing some players that FOF deletes even though they appeared in some games. These may be minor enough for you not to care, but if you want full details the general recommendation is to restore the end-of-season backups one at a time for the league starting at the beginning and running each stage.

If you are missing the actual yearly stat files, then you are screwed, the data is simply not available. Interrogator vs DBUpdater won't matter, unless you just mean you have older Interrogator CSVs laying around. That would be very tricky to do manually.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for being obtuse, but when you say stat files do you mean the files for each year, e.g. leaguename.2009, leaguename.2010, etc? We have those, but I don't know how to extract the data from them to create the EOS files to import into DBUpdater. Can it be done? thanks.

DBUpdater reads those directly. It reads the FOF data directly. If you have everything you need to open the league in FOF and can browse all the stats and career records, then just run DBUpdater on the league, you don't need to do anything else.

Just tried this with a new database. I have all the historical data for the league (2003 to 2023) and all the stats/career records are present in game. And Interrogator seems to create all the .csv files just fine if I set it to 2003 and let it run through all the seasons. But DBUpdater only populates the database with data from the current year (2023 thru week 16). It doesn't give me any errors. Any ideas?

I think dbupdater only operates from the current year, so to get the entire history you would have to load up year #1, dbupdate, year #2, dbupdate, etc.

And you have to make sure that you are running the very last update from those seasons, in order to get all the history. It's a painstaking process to get history in there, but definitely worth it.

Yeah, if anybody out there is a good enough programmer to work with this released source (i.e, not me), this would be #1 on my wish list.

Question, in gameresults, is it by design that "HomePassYards" and "HomeRushYards", etc, are actually only the stats of the leader for each team?

The "HomeMiddleRushYards", etc, and "ScreenPassYards", etc, appear to be for the whole team, so this is a little confusing. I guess if you want actual cumulative stats from a game, the proper place to go would be fof_playergamestats and sum up?

Also, how far is that changetracker replacement from completion?

anyone install the suite win 8? the setup program wants .net 2.0 I h4.5 and it thinks I don't have the .net framework and won't intall.
so my guess is intall 2.0 if I find that.

Has anyone come up with a good way to get around the stupid hosts that won't allow remote DB connections? I had thought about doing a local MySQL DB, exporting there, then running the SQL to update the remote DB, but that seems A) way too time-consuming and B) maybe not even likely with how big some of those tables can get (and will continue to get). Or does anyone have a better stats alternative from jdavidbaker's that they would host for us?

What do you mean by this?

I thought Stelmack's suite was the only database supplier we have available to us (I could be wrong, I'm fairly new to the game) and even if not, any other stats suite would invariably deal with the same issues of requiring a very large database, no?

Brand new install to default directories. It also works as intended on a Fof 6.3 file in a backup folder but not the newier 6.4 version.

Any ideas anyone?

I've been going thru this thread for what seems like forever trying to research this same problem (lol, could have saved a lot of time by starting at the end rather than the beginning). Will much appreciate anyone responding that has an answer.

I'm having a problem with QBs in the Draft Analyzer. For "Bars", "Comb", and "Rate" is shows "NaN" instead of the numbers. It works on my home computers but not my work computers.

Same problem here. Since nobody is addressing this issue, I assume nobody knows how (or cares) to resolve it. If that's the case, anyone got a link to an older version of the resource patcher?

Thanks

Nevermind, found an old version of it (1.9.14) on my external HD. If anyone else wants a link to it, just ask

DBUpdate issue:

there's a team that has a cap loss, this year of (310,000).

That's -310,000, so I'm not certain how this is possible. But nonetheless, that's what it shows, and DBUpdate is writing this as 18446744073709241616.

Without intending to cast aspersions, it seems like esoteric questions get answered a lot faster than newbie questions. Is there somewhere else I should be asking newbie questions?

Does either one not work?

I haven't executed yet. The download contained two types of files named "setup", the ones I mentioned. I would think I don't need to execute both. Maybe one is for Macs? I'm just being careful.

The exe checks to make sure you have all the prerequisites (proper version of .NET, etc), the .msi is the actual installer. For most modern systems it probably won't matter, but when in doubt always run "setup.exe".

Installed Draft Analyzer and its working fine, but I don't see as much info as others on the bottom of the main screen. I attached a screen shot. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated.

You installed the FOF2k4 one, not the FOF2k7 one.

It sorta works - it reports an error (which you can ignore), but I think it is analyzing the combines accurately.
