I had to wake up at 4:30 this morning to do some work on our Israel network. I'm thinking of a few things that would have made today better. One of which being if I had remembered last night before staying up until 1am that I had to get up early today

Well, he was a 10/9 guy, and his development curve as I see it currently I'm not sure he'll even survive this year before he tails off drastically unfortunately. He definitely is one of the better players in FOOL-X history though easily!

Durán Records Shutout Against Plantana
Saturday, May 8th, 2021: "That was one of my best outings," said Alberto Durán. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."

It was an impressive start for the Terriers hurler. He blanked the Pirates 5-0 on a strong 3-hitter while ringing up 9 strikeouts and doling out no walks.

So far in 7 appearances this season, Durán has recorded 3 wins and sustained 3 losses. He has pitched 48 innings, yielded 45 hits, fanned 47 and has a 3.94 ERA.

Super Swinger -- Madole Slams 6 Hits

Parker Pitches Waikiki to Shutout Win
Monday, May 17th, 2021: The Wildcats manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Waikiki Beach Boys 8-0.

"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.

Steven Parker blanked them on 5 hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Parker said.

"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Parker has made 7 starts so far this year and put up a 4-1 won-lost record with a 3.14 ERA. In 51.2 innings he has allowed 43 hits, walked 10 and struck out 50.

Cleveland Shut out by Arredondo
Thursday, June 3rd, 2021: Waikiki pitcher Carlos Arredondo put on a show today and walked away with a 7-0 shutout victory over the Cleveland Naps, throttling them on 3 hits. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 3 and walking 3 in a strong outing.

"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."

This year Arredondo has a 3-3 record with a 4.01 ERA in 9 starts.

I guess Pedersen didn't like my comments questioning on when he might start to fall apart.

It's a No-No for Jiménez
Friday, July 2nd, 2021: Havana is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Jorge Jiménez against the Stafford Terriers. In a dominating 6-0 performance at Constitution Plaza, the 32-year-old hurler had 12 strikeouts and 2 walks. Not one batter managed a hit.

The Stafford manager said after the game, "You could tell early on it was going to be a long day for us. He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."

"Yeah, this was a special day for me," said Jiménez. "I had my good stuff and good movement... good location, too. Even when I was off and made a mistake, I got away with it today."

This year Jiménez has compiled a 10-3 record with a 2.98 ERA.

Just because their numbers are different colors doesn't make them bad.

I love how quickly we throw them under the bus once we've realized they're not gonna give us what we want. Way to settle!

Holt Takes RL Top Starter Trophy
Sunday, August 1st, 2021: Veteran Edward Holt put together quite a successful stretch in July for the Spring Lions, earning himself the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

Holt racked up a 5-0 record in 5 starts, posting a 1.24 ERA over 29 innings and striking out 27.

Holt has made 21 starts this season, posting 16 wins and 3 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .252 against him and he has 100 strikeouts in 129 innings with a 3.63 ERA.

CL Selects Vega July's Best Pitcher
Sunday, August 1st, 2021: Capping off a whirlwind month in which he went 4-1 with a 3.03 ERA, Ramón Vega was selected as July's Continental League Pitcher of the Month today. Reporters caught up with the elated Havana starter as he left the clubhouse.

"I know it's difficult for pitchers -- when you have a bad start or two, people start wondering if you've lost it. Then you ride stretches like this one for all you can. You find it easier to come to the park every day because know you're contributing to the club, not just waiting for your turn in the rotation to make up for your last start."

Ramón Vega definitely contributed to the club. He had 5 starts, throwing 35.2 innings, striking out 15, and holding the opposition to a .258 average.

This season Vega has fanned 73 in 115.1 innings and collected a 7-11 record with a 6.01 ERA.

Its comments like his that usually causes a team to come up with a late season surge to mediocrity.

The young man from New York deserved the honor, batting .376 with 11 home runs and 36 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke?
