#2: George Plimpton Dead

Article here:
http://espn.go.com/gen/news/2003/0926/1623989.html

Plimpton is probably best known to us as the Sports Illustrated writer that dreamt up Sidd Finch, one of the best April Fools' Day jokes ever.

He had just released a new book and I happened to catch him on a radio talk show this weekend.

I always got him and Martha confused. She's ugly enough to look like a 70 year old man.

Plimpton should be celebrated, not mourned. Few of us will live a fuller life.

76 isn't as young as, say Ritter or Robert Palmer, but still...

I really enjoyed Paper Lion.

RIP George...

He was one of my all time favorite characters. I too heard him on the radio promoting his new book within the last couple of weeks.
This one for me is bigger than Palmer, I think.
