Any Pats fan in New England want a Training Camp Ticket?
As part of my season ticket package for the New England Revolution, I got a free ticket for the in-stadium practice at Gilette Stadium, August 2nd at 7 PM. Not gonna use it, anyone interested?

Damn, that would make an excellent birthday present for me (August 2nd is my birthday), but there's no way I could take the time off to get up there.

Ted Johnson retires.
Thank you and good day.

oh, that's some sucky timing on Johnson's part. I mean, I can see why he wants to retire and all, but dang, why wait until training camp starts to announce it??? Especially when he's been seen to have an expanded role and all with Bruschi out...

Shit, I've seen this all day, and I'm not that far away. Even though I'd like to shoot the refs for the "tuck" rule, I'll take it if no one else wants it.

He didn't choose to retire. Doctors refused to clear him due to serial concussions, and he was forced to retire as a result.

Maybe so doc, but his concussion history has not changed between the end of the season and now, so why wait? Up until the last minicamp, he was saying he was ready to see his role be expanded and now boom. I don't question his decision, or the doctors' decision, simply the timing of it all... FM

Good point. The word that I've heard (and it might be faulty) is that he kept hoping that the doctors were going to clear him, but they were never able to do so. However, I definitely see your point. Terrible timing, but I suspect that the Patriots always knew he probably wouldn't make it back. They certainly have done a nice job of acquiring a few linebackers (more than would be needed just to cover Bruschi's absence.)
