How very sad-I hope they were able to clear up all that stuff with who was taking care of him before he died.
I'm much more of a DC Comics guy, but certainly do not dispute how much of an influence he had over the entire industry. Excelsior Stan!

Weird to think how (comparatively) little time he spent actually writing/creating versus being a Marvel ambassador - I didn't actually realise until I read a few articles on the way to work this morning how little he wrote after the 60s. Can't say I've read a ton of his comics (pre 80s comics read a bit too "old timey" to me, as much as I've tried...), but his legacy made up a big part of my childhood.
He might well be the last of the recognized comic book creators, as well, in what's become a pretty sterile creative environment (outside of indie books, at least).
