Room 16:
You pick the lock and open the door. Inside is a large dimly lit smoky room. The room is made of rough rock - it's barely a room at all, closer to a cavern. You smell burning flesh, but can't make out much beyond a smoky haze in front of you. And that's when you hear a shrieking sound and are confronted by: 2 Winged Harpies. They seem to call out in their unnatural language, and they are joined by: 2 Spined Devils. They attack. The harpies begin by singing their Alluring Song. They are trying to charm you! Abe resists. CF is charmed! ntn resists! The Spined Devils hang back and shoot poison spines at you. one hits Abe the other misses. Abe casts web at the devils! They are both trapped in the web! CF: charmed. ntn rushes forward to attack. ---------------------- The harpies move forward and attack with their claws. Harpy 1: miss Harpy 2: hits CF Spined Devil 1: webbed Spined Devil 2: webbed Abe: casts summon monster - a Constrictor snake appears Snake: miss CF: charmed ntn: miss ---------------------- The harpies sing their song. Abe is charmed. ntn resists. Spined Devil 1: hits abe with a crit! Spined Devil 2: miss Abe: charmed Snake: hit! CF: charmed ntn: hits harpy 1 ---------------------- The harpies attack with their claws. Harpy 1: hits abe with a crit! And Abe is HURT! Harpy 2: miss Spined Devil 1: miss Spined Devil 2: hits ntn Abe: breaks free of charm and hits Snake: miss CF: breaks free of charm and hits with a CRIT! ntn: hits ---------------------- The harpies attack with their claws. CF moves forward to take the hits from the harpies. Harpy 1: hits cf Harpy 2: miss Spined Devil 1: hits cf Spined Devil 2: hits ntn Abe: hits the harpy with a crit! Snake: hits! They are Boots of Agility - they increase your chances to avoid attacks! You also buy 3 healing potions and distribute those. And the scroll. You take a look at it and it and it appears to be a scroll of Remove Curse! Let me know if you want to use it on yourself, Abe. |

Room 17:
Leaving the room takes you through another long hallway. You move through it as quickly as you can, but once again, it becomes darker and darker. You slow down a bit to ensure that you don't trigger any traps. Suddenly, CF cries out in pain. He was in the back of the party (since ntn was looking for traps) and was critically backstabbed with a sneak attack! You get a quick look out of the corner of your eye at a Tiefling holding two black bladed short swords. But when you all turn around, he is gone! You wait for a moment, wondering what will happen next. When he appears next to ntn and attacks him! A hit! He is teleporting from place to place and seems to be wearing a cloak that makes him very hard to see. You spread out and look around to try to find him. |

After 5 turns of battle, things aren't looking very good. Your health is starting to fade and you've used Summon Monster, Web, Fireball, and a Heal. The Tiefling keeps on coming.
