C'mon now. You can hook it up with your television, but you have to load it off a cassette tape.

Yep it was such a joy when the tape would wear out and you spent the last 20 minutes loading a game only to discover there was an error at the very end of the whole process.

Good call.

Dibs on a team of 300-foot robots with lightning bolts for feet and orange uniforms with tiger stripes.

Six. And the guys all have to wear jerseys with 2,400 characters on them to describe not only their names but their complete family histories. It's awesome.

He has a floating vacation day that is automatically triggered when the game is released. Been waiting for that day since 1999.

The developer has already started talking about how certain features are going to have to be put off for M-F2. That's rich.

By the way, buried deep in a thread over there I read that the same PDF manual will come with both the download and boxed version. So the boxed version is simply the CD in a box I'm guessing, with no additional documentation. The box must be worth the extra $10, right? I mean if it was worth delaying the release over...

Just to clarify, if I pick the download version, I will also want the full manual, which I assume will be available as a pdf file in the download. I wouldn't mind ordering the box + download for the extra $10.00 but I don't want to wait for it.

Jonnie,

The download and the boxed version both have a PDF manual and they are identical "full manuals" in both versions.

Regards,

- Erik

So...there's about 30 people in the Maximus Football Forum on release night (counting myself). One is Jennifer Winters (whom I'm assuming is the developers wife). I'm guessing based on the numbers reading this thread about 5-6 are people watching the train wreck. That leaves about 24 people who are looking to download the game. That's at least 3 times the number I was expecting. This may be a runaway success...

That's what happens when you type with your palms.

The Maximum Lacrosse always intrigued me. Outsides of a very poor release from Acclaim a few years back, this is one sport that has been woefully underserviced. It may be more of a 'niche' following, but it's one I'd definitely buy.

There's alot of people here
I think if this game turns out to be a good it might actually give Madden a little shove

That would explain the extra 10 people in the forum...they're EA guys checking out the competition!
