WW Small Game: Seville High, Book One: The Janitor of Death - GAME OVER, Blakekin Win

Seville High, Book One: The Janitor of Death

Hello and welcome to a new small game of Werewolf, hosted by yours truly. This is going to be a simple game, although it will use new terms to explain the story.

You will be writing/performing a horror novel for teenagers. You are each cast as teenagers in this novel. This is the first book of a new series called Seville High. At the end of each chapter, there is a death, in order to keep things interesting. The general tone of the game is simple – every other chapter, the Blakekin will emerge victorious and then the teenagers will attempt revenge. Simple enough, eh?

You will all be assigned a visible character, and you will be asked to speak in that character, or at least with that viewpoint, as much as possible. Once these visible characters are assigned and doled out, the roles information will be randomly selected behind the scenes and given to people who qualify.

This game has room for thirteen players.

This game will have roles sent out on Sunday, March 4th and the first chapter will be set to end Monday at 9:00 pm EST. Chapters will typically end at 9:00 pm and then at 2:00 am (EST).

The Book's Plot:

Blake McKenzie was the local school janitor at Seville High. He had a creepy voice that sometimes cracked like someone going through puberty despite his advancing age. He was caught after hours in his “office” that he had appropriated in the boiler room with several samples of child pornography. Although he claimed that he had just found it in his room, nobody believed him.

He was summarily fired from his job and quickly kicked out of his home by his almost deceased mother. While wandering the streets at night, a truck driver hauling toxic waste fell asleep at the wheel, and Blake was caught in the waste. His body slowly dissolved into a toxic-Blake stew.

The local town and the kids at Seville believed that was the last they had seen the last of Blake until they found the words, “I Have Returned” painted hastily in his handwriting down it the boiler room. It is apparent that Blake has possessed one or more students at Seville High and now the students must set about to find him.

Dramatis Personae:

The characters:

Suzy Cambridge, the Prom Queen – You are a senior. You recently won the Prom Queen title as a Junior and followed that up with the Fall Princess award at the Fall Formal. You are very popular and on the border of well-to-do. You are very pretty. All of the guys want to sleep with you and all of the women are secretly jealous of you. You are not a snob, per se, you are just misunderstood. Being popular can be so hard! You are dating Wayne Wright.

Wayne Wright, the Quarterback – You are a junior. You are the heir apparent to Stevie Slater, the star QB who was given a scholarship to State. So far, you’ve won the first five games of the year. You are as popular as Suzy, and all of the chicks dig your scar on your lower left arm from a football injury rushing for a TD in the first game of the year. All of the guys want to be you and all of the girls want to date you. You don’t care much for Suzy and her uptight-ness but she is the only chick in school you can date and not be seen as slumming it. You are dating her.

Esther Feinberg, the Jewish Scholar – You are a junior. You care about your grades, and are on the valedictorian path for your class. Although you have glasses, you think that you are secretly a sex kitten when you take them off, although most guys are put off by your braces and occasional but not rampant acne. Your intelligence defines you. You are BFF with Jennifer Grawley.

Jennifer Grawley, the Poor Kid – You are a senior. You are often ignored because you are the poor kid in school, but in your last gym class back in tenth grade, you were teased mercilessly because you had dirty panties. The girls in the locker room made fun of you and they still all call you DP. Esther doesn’t though, and you and her are BFF. You have a job at the local plant putting small plastic things into a cutter – you don’t even know what you are making at the plant.

Jamie Kinder, the Emo Kid – You are a sophomore and a wanna be emo kid with a badly done black hair dye job and clothes from the local Salvation army. You love this vintage Vietnam Era war jacket you own, and wear it all of the time. You are smart, but prefer to write poetry and avoid the glances of boys. You think you may be a lesbian. You are lab partners with Hohiro Kasuri.

Hohiro Kasuri, the Foreign Exchange Student – You are a sophomore from Japan, and you speak only acceptable Engrish. Your grades are amazing outside of English class, where you are barely passing right now. Your love is Chemistry where you spend as the lab partner of Jamie Kinder. You also like watching anime and you wear a Pikachu backpack. You secretly desire Michelle Henderson.

Michelle Henderson, the Head Cheerleader – You are a junior. You are the head cheerleader and everything in your life revolves around cheering. The local kids know that they can set you off by telling you that cheering isn’t a sport, which is a pet peeve of yours. You really go off when someone mentions that. Some people call you the Cheer Nazi behind your back. You are teammates with Abagail Watson.

Abagail Watson, the Druggie Skank – You are a senior. You are only on the cheer team because your parents want you to be, and you want everybody to think that everything is fine with you. Behind most of their backs, however, you definitely take drugs, especially E. You have slept with several college age men at parties, but can’t remember any of their names. Yesterday, you took a home pregnancy test and discovered that you have been successfully knocked up. You are teammates with Michelle.

Juan Sanchez, the Dungeonmaster – You are a junior and the DM for the local Dungeons and Dragons game. You love D&D, computer games, and other nerdly games like Magic: the Gathering. You get good grades without even trying, but you don’t care. Life is about gaming and debates on cool things like whether or not Captain Picard would defeat Darth Vader in a war. Richard Polenski is in your D&D group.

Richard Polenski, the Musician – You are a sophomore. You are a member of the marching band, show choir, and various extracurricular music groups. As much as you love to play the piano, bassoon or sing, you also love to act, and were drawn to D&D because of your ability to escape reality and play a new character. You are in a D&D group with Juan Sanchez.

You will be assigned one of these characters. Then, once these characters are assigned, these roles will be randomly assigned:

Blakekin – You are the possessed of Blake. Every other chapter, you can collectively kill off a fellow schoolmate. How many of you there are any other powers you have are unknown to the general populace.

Sleuth – The sleuth is an information gatherer who uses their connections and skill to find out information about classmates with the intent of locating the Blakekin. This information an typically only be found when the Blakekin are out and about, so it happens every other chapter, when they are acting.

Bodyguard – The bodyguard is able, through skill, power, intelligence or resources, to block the Blakekin in their kill. Like the Sleuth and the Blakekin, the bodyguard only really has a job to do when the Blakekin are out, so only every other chapter for them as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here. I hope that you all sign up for Seville High, Book One: The Janitor of Death.

I tried to introduce some story elements into Spawn 3 and will be very curious to see how this plays out, even if I don't quite understand the mechanics. However, I think the large game is a sufficient drain on my WW time at the moment and can't volunteer to play.

Remember, not everything in your character's bio is something that you are willing to share, certainly not immediately. Your characters are up, roles will be pm'd to all.

Chapter One

Each of your arrives at school today nervous after yesterday's killing. Some of you arrive by bus, others by car, a couple are driven by parents, one even skateboards in.

The ashes of what was once Kristy McKendrick were found floating in the air yesterday. Her body had apparently been incinerated by the industrial strength boiler. At first, you thought it was the first snowfall of the year. Imagine your shock when you were told that the "snowflakes" you had been plucking out of the air with your tongues were, in fact, once your former schoolmate.

The smeared "I have returned" sign was clear to all. Somehow, Blake McKenzie has returned from beyond the grave!

The video cameras from the school yesterday show only students in the area of the boiler room - no teachers or staff were anywhere near it. Obviously, somehow Blake has taken control of one or more of you!

The class bell rings, and in a silence never before heard in a high school hallway, you trudge to your first period. The occasional flawed attempt at laughter or pleasant conversation breaks the otherwise dead silence.

Each of you makes your way to the decks in your various classes. School has begun again.

The school day has never brought joy to you. It has never brought pleasure or ecstacy. However, today, for the first time, it brings anguish and fear. It's a wholly new sensation for your young lives.

The day begins.

I hope that the males among you will not mind too much that once again I have a lot of female roles. I find it more realistic, to be honest. It's also fun to see males play females. After all, imagine how many WW games with a lot of male roles (in games where that sort of info was known). This is more fair.

As a reminder,

Odd Numbered Chapters - You vote to kill someone

Even Numbered Chapters - Blakekin try to kill someone. Sleuthes try to catch them, bodyguards try to stop them.

This is Chapter One - so you will be voting in this chapter. It ends Monday at 9:00 pm EST.

I think its cool.

I'm going to vote for a guy that's still playing in the other game, and who I think is a more skilled wolf than villager.
