Yep I got it. There does not appear to be any new exports that I don't have.

I have a slew of PMs so give me a few minutes to work through them.

Ok, everyone checks in under the salary cap. A few teams signed players that put them above the 25 man limit so those players have been put in AAA.

We're ready to get the season rolling. Good luck to all!

Wednesday, April 25th, 2040: New York's Dimiceli Gets 2500th Hit
By going 3-for-5 in the New York 11-3 win over Ann Arbor, Sandro Dimiceli reached the 2500-hit mark. The New York Grounds fans, friend and foe, burst into applause and Dimiceli's teammates hugged and congratulated him on his achievement.

"The guys began the countdown weeks ago," said the newest member of the 2500 Club. "I don't know who was more excited -- them or me."

For his 1941-game career Dimiceli has hit .321 with 2502 hits, 786 RBIs and 79 home runs.

Every year my farm system quality drops as more of the kids hit the bigs. Two more of those listed by Hammersmith are on the major league roster this year (and a handful of others who aren't in the top five of my system--I think I have around 7-8 rookies on this squad).

Thursday, April 26th, 2040: Patriots Chill Watanabe's Hot Streak
Hammersmith second baseman Eiichi Watanabe came into today's game against the Hyannis Patriots on a hot streak. When it was over, the Patriots did their job very well. They beat the Hammersmith Hooligans 11-6 and cooled him off at the same time. Hyannis stopped Watanabe without a hit and his 24-game hitting streak came to an end.

The 27-year-old Watanabe only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."

His manager commented, "What Eiichi did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 24 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

This year Watanabe is hitting .376, produced 20 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 18 times and gotten on base at a .433 rate.

Manuel Sánchez took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award for April.

The 24-year-old Hooligans starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 4-0 won-lost record in 7 starts. He has fanned 46 batters in 48 innings and sports a 2.44 ERA.

Tuesday, May 1st, 2040: RL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Roberto Chávez earned April's Rookie of the Month honors in the Republic League for last month's performance. The boyish Hammersmith right fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Chávez hit .333 with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 18 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

Tuesday, May 1st, 2040: Marquee Month for Murphy, Top CL Rookie
Curt Murphy was selected as the Continental League Rookie of the Month for the excellent performance he put together last month.

In April the 27-year-old third baseman for Baltimore hit .310 with 31 hits, 6 home runs and 13 RBIs. He posted an OBP of .367 and played in 25 games.

BTW, I know Dermott Retter. He's a personal friend of mine. And the Retter above, he's not the same Retter I know.

Thursday, May 10th, 2040: Weston Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle
Bernard Weston of Boston accomplished what few others have been able to do. He chalked up 4 hits -- 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- on his way to the cycle. However, his great game ended on a sour note -- his Boston Settlers were bumped off by Edmonton Edge by the score of 6-4 at Ballpark of Boston.

For the day he finished 4-4 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored and will be honored in the record books for his rare accomplishment.

In the postgame press conference he said, "I was so focused on winning the ballgame, I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until our PR people told me after the game."

B. Weston hit a two-run home run off J. Rodgers in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

So far this season Weston has hit .331 with 7 home runs, 25 RBIs and and scored 26 times.

Sunday, May 20th, 2040: 3-HR Day for Chouda
The fans at Ballpark of Colorado witnessed Ken Chouda write his name into the league record book with three home runs, but the Colorado Rancheros still dropped the decision to the Chico Rebels 11-6.

He spoke with reporters after his historic day and told them, "I've always loved hitting in Ballpark of Colorado. You can see the ball so well. I'm glad I got the homers, but three hits and a win would be nicer."

For the day he collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs.

K. Chouda hit a solo-shot off D. Palethorpe in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off D. Palethorpe in the 4th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Roberson in the 9th.

This season Chouda is swinging the bat at a .247 pace. He has hit 7 home runs and scored 11 times, while driving in 25. His on-base percentage is .318 and he has played in 32 games.

Friday, June 1st, 2040: Chico's Dawson Acclaimed Best RL Hitter
Free agent-to-be Frank Dawson has inflated his asking price over the past 30 days by winning the Republic League Batter of the Month.

In May, the 33-year-old Chico first baseman hit .409 with 6 home runs and 22 RBIs.

If he keeps putting numbers like that up, he could be hauling in a big wad of cash at this time next year.

Currently Dawson has 9 home runs and a .354 batting average.

Hammersmith's Roberto Chávez collected 26 hits to snare the Republic League Rookie of the Month for May.

He batted .265 with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

The 21-year-old is barely old enough to shave, but he could definitely contend for Rookie of the Year if he keeps up this pace.

This season Chávez is batting .300 with 12 home runs. His totals include 38 RBIs and 33 runs scored.

Friday, June 1st, 2040: Continental League Names Rookie of Month

Today he was chosen May's Continental League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 28 games Cannon batted .348 for Apex, slapping 39 hits in 112 at-bats with 9 home runs, drove in 25 runs and scored 25 times.

This season Cannon has banged out 63 hits in 204 at-bats for a .309 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .385 pace and his totals also include 43 RBIs and 42 runs scored.

I see my long time nemesis, the Pythagorean Record, is kicking my ass again.

I wonder if it is in cahoots with another one of my odd and rare enemies, Play Crappy At Home.

Wow. What happened to my team? I'm wondering if the last export I managed to get in was even complete, or if my players are just sucking for some reason.

Sunday, July 1st, 2040: Hartford Starter Wins June's Pitcher Award
Whether Cristo Gonzáles stays in Hartford beyond this season remains to be seen, but while he's here he's making the most of it. In June the 29-year-old certainly pulled out all the stops by winning the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

He put up some fancy numbers with a 4-0 record and and an ERA of 1.78. In 35.1 innings he struck out 21, surrendered 35 hits, 15 walks and proved to be a solid performer in 5 starts last month.

In 2040 Gonzáles has compiled a 8-4 mark with a 3.59 ERA in 15 starts. In pitching 92.2 innings he has 58 strikeouts and 33 walks while limiting the opposition to a .261 batting average.

FWIW, I have had whole season team slumps before with otherwise seemingly talented squads. It's pretty maddening.

I took a look at your squad after first month (well, your spring training squad). Doesn't seem to be a lack of talent there to me.
