Haha.. I was bound to make a mistake one of these days. I ran the sim without importing anyone's files then wondered why no one had anyone re-sign with them!

Hang on a sec, need to restore back to a backup and re-do this again

Man, if Cringer ever comes back to checking on his team, he's not going to want it anymore. Missing this season will have really set him back.

Tuesday, November 4th, 1986: FOOL News: Free Agents File
Front Office Offseason League announced the start of the free agency period today.

Players with expiring contracts began to file as the clock struck midnight and general managers were already making the rounds. With the opening of free agency came a predictable chorus of speculation from the media.

While most teams are likely to make at least some small moves, it's still uncertain who the movers and shakers will be. Reporters expect a lot of attention to be lavished on the cream of the free agent crop, including these players:

1. Dany Boily, 26 year-old starting pitcher
2. Alejandro Martínez, 24 year-old starting pitcher
3. Skip Adams, 24 year-old starting pitcher
4. Ron Fritz, 36 year-old starting pitcher
5. Alonso Hernández, 37 year-old starting pitcher
6. Wilson Valenzuela, 23 year-old starting pitcher
7. Alan Poole, 34 year-old center fielder
8. Ite Beens, 35 year-old starting pitcher
9. Yun-ho Chong, 31 year-old catcher
10. Catur Sukarno, 25 year-old starting pitcher

Signings can continue throughout the off-season, although most of the high quality players are expected to conclude negotiations long before then. Most players want to be well paid, but they also want to get settled so they can start the process of moving family across town or across the country.

I had spoken with both Cringer and Anthony this past weekend when they had virtually missed an entire week. Cringer said he intends to be back full time this season, but had a busy week. His team is on vacation mode currently where the AI should be handling day to day things in the normally terrific AI fashion.

So, Wilson Valenzuela is the #6 available free agent, eh? I guess I lowballed him.

Gstelmack, Thanks to Dark Cloud's help I have your old logos and have put in your team colors to form your jerseys. If you want them altered a bit, just let me know (ie: primary and secondary colors reversed or whatever). I went with the red/white that you asked for on it all.

Speaking of stupid AI, why is Danny Boily a free agent? The game lists him as arbitration eligible and had his estimated salary in my chart for next year. I still haven't updated the file since before the playoffs, so I know this for a fact not speculation.

Reason listed in the transaction log is that he became a minor league free agent which is supposed to occur after 4 service years. In the game it suggests he has 5 minor league service years and 3 major league service years. I am guessing he spent the season in AAA this year.

He isn't listed as a potential FA on the NY financial page though...Minor league FA's are lsited there....

Ahh. Not sure on that one. You are right, he should have been listed there. Based on his service years, he is very clearly qualified for minor league free agency. I have no explanation for why he didn't show up on the list though.. that sucks.

Its not a tragedy, but its aggravating that the summary for that doesn't work the way its supposed to. I went through and extended all the guys I wanted to based on that list.

One of these days, maybe the Hartford team plane will just crash or something. 2nd AND 3rd in Pitcher of the Year. Sheesh. At least we've picked up a few ROYs the last couple of years, but it still hurts because those two guys had great years.

I'm exported.

I have over $30,000,000 in cap space to swing around, and I'm doing it. Haven't been this excited about an FA period in a while.

Go big or go home!

Might need a sec. There are more MLC candidates to give out than I anticipated. Just a minute or so, though.

It feels weird not participating in the first day of free agency.

I don't understand why Tasan let CL Padilla go, though. I'm giving him big money this time!

Um...I didn't.

Please please please tell me this is a joke I'm missing, because I still see him on my team.

Ahhahhhahah .....

I just noticed what Felix Padilla's nickname ended up being. I guess once that was put into the game once for a different player, it gets re-used elsewhere...

That is so funny considering he is Panamanian!!!

I don't need heart attacks like that!

I have two sons under 7, I get enough stress as it is. I was scrambling back looking over everything to make sure I didn't accidently hit release at some point. I actually considered it before moving Endo. I did let a real good lefty reliever go this season, someone's gonna get a real good setup guy in Dwight Anderson.

lol...I actually only said that to see how many owners I could get to go running to get their games open and look at the FA screen.

If you let Padilla go, he didn't show up through my filters (and he would have ).

I was wondering about that. I noticed it last season when he was out in FA.
