I've said this before and I'll say it again, Kroger Kettle chips are great. I don't think I'll ever buy the overpriced Lay's brand again. Munching on the Cuban Sandwich flavored ones now.

Quite a few of the Kroger storebrands compare favorably to their name brand counterpart. Their plain ol' "Classic Potato Chip" is super close to Lay's, arguably the best store/generic I've found for regular chips.

Aldi still has 'em beat for copycats of less standard lines -- funyons, fritos, cheetos, etc -- but for straight up chips, Kroger is right there and actually better than Aldi on those.

Red cabbage in salad mix is really out of control. It has to cost more than iceberg, and i thought it was just in there for color along with the shredded carrots. but lately the ratio is far out of control. I'll look down and have 75% or more red cabbage in a bite. Annoying.

Ugh, whatever you do, don't buy condoms from Vietnam!

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/vietnam...y-used-resale/
Quote:
Police in Vietnam said they found about 320,000 recycled used condoms that were being repackaged as new, local media reported on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.

Market inspectors in the Binh Duong province raided a factory near Ho Chi Minh City, where they discovered used condoms being repackaged to be sold at the market. An inspector said the factory's 34-year-old owner, a woman, confessed they purchased the condoms from someone else, the state-owned Tuoi Tre newspaper reported, according to the AP.

After buying the condoms from a man, they were washed and reshaped, then packed in plastic bags, according to the newspaper.

I like Meghan speaking her mind and trying to get out the vote (e.g. I don't like Harry getting involved though). I likely won't vote for her but it would be fascinating to see how that plays out.

However, in the hypothetical where it was Meghan vs Kanye, I would go Meghan.

“I Think…She Would Seriously Consider Running for President”: Inside Meghan Markle’s Political Ambitions | Vanity Fair
Quote:
Rumors abound that Meghan could run for president in 2024, and she got the attention of the offices current occupant, who said in a press conference on Wednesday that he is not a fan of the duchess. Donald Trump was responding to a video that she and Prince Harry made to promote Time 100s list of the most influential people in 2020, in which she declared that Novembers election is the most important election of our lifetime. But its possible that 2024 could be even more important for her personally.

One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics, said a close friend of the royal. I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president.

Qualification to run for President after Trump would be like baseball HOF standards if they enshrined Biff Pocoroba.

Well this is hilarious (not sure where it belonged, so I put it here):

Transgender Satanist anarchist wins Republican country sheriff primary

A Transgendered Satanist won the Republican nomination for sheriff of Cheshire County, New Hampshire. She ran before as a libertarian, but when the Republican nominee dropped out before the primary she filed to run as a Republican and since she was the only one on the ballot and no one bothered to research anything about local races like that one, they didn't put a write in candidate up.

Oh, and Dimezzo's, the GOP nominee, platform for County Sheriff is "Fuck the Police", LOL

How do you acquire 320,000 used condoms?

Yeah, this is one of those cases where it seems like it really should have taken less effort and resources to just do the thing you were supposed to do.

Just watched a really bad HS football team punt on 4th & 50.

Yes, I said _and 50_, not _from the 50_.

Just not the sorta down & distance you see very often.

multiple sacks & an intentional grounding in the same "drive", that's how it happens. Starter sacked, backup QB in & I'd almost swear you could hear him scream while being chased before throwing the ball up for grabs, starter back in & he gets sacked, narrowly escaping his own end zone.

I was on BGG and started a geeklist about sports sims board games.
A duden posted about APBA baseball and regional tourneys. I was intrigued and asked him about it. I have never played APBA, being a statis pro guy. I researched APBA, thought it was okay, but didnt think I wanted to learn a new system whe i was very satisfied with statis pro. Then out of no where an auction appears on BGG. I check it out and guess what is being sold, APBA baseball with and old timers expansion.

Man, coincidence or conspiracy?

I was shocked they got it off. In the 4 mins of action that followed the game went from 28-0 to 41-0. And it's now 61-0 late q3 (running clock in effect since halftime)

Holy crap, I just asked my daughter, who is back home from college, if she had a fake ID. And yes she does. Then she told me that there are companies out there who make these IDs. and they come from China.

I looked at it and it is the best fake ID I ever saw. All she gave was name and address.

I remember trying to make them back in the 80s. What a painful process. Luckily I had an older brother I looked like and the dringing ge was 19.

I missed out on an oppotunity ot make some cash. She paid $60 for 2 IDs.

One of the better quality fake ID rings in the U.S. ran out of Athens for a while a few years back. Started in a frat house, eventually had multiple apartments going, produced over 1,100 fakes at an average of $60 per. Spread across at least a half dozen schools in three conferences and four states. Holograms, mag strips, the works.

Taco flavored Doritos are my favorite. But, damn, the carbs are to crazy to make it a regular snack. CHili cheese fritos on the other hand. Aces.

This for some reason is my worst nightmare. I will immediately leave the area if the water is found to contain these things. And as someone who gets their water from Lake Erie, that's saying something.

Reverse mortgages are designed to turn your house into medical bill payments.

Be smart. Transfer assets to your kids and don't spend your golden years hocking your possessions so you can qualify for Medicaid before it bankrupts your children.
