Can you sign for this package?

So, I recently ordered a new projector - easily the single most expensive item I have ordered by mail. I checked the FedEx tracking information to see if it had arrived today. I saw that it arrived at my building (which has a few doormen). I happened to notice who signed for the package - according to FedEx, "ROBBER" signed for and accepted delivery. I wonder if the package will actually be there when I get home.

That's hilarious. It would be something if it actually was a robber, though. Yikes!

That's kind of weird for a doorman to do that, unless he knows for a fact you're checking online and would have access to the signature.

I had a package from Microsoft (personal order, thankfully, not anything site-related) get signed for by a guy who doesn't even work at the place I take my mail. Someone else with a box there had the same issue, same signature.

I think the driver must have been drunk or stoned, because the implication is he delivered both packages, independently, to the wrong address.

Never understood how this worked, I always thought that the package had to be signed by the person it is addressed too. I get packages at work all the time in my name, but others sign for it. I even had a package sent to my house once, and my neighbor signed it and kept it until I got home. I didn't even know the guy, and he doesn't even speak English, but at least we became pals or something.

You just know the guy put the projector in his huge sack with the dollar sign on the side and took off.

Well, I did receive the projector. And I'm quite sure the doorman did not sign it "ROBBER" on purpose knowing I would look at it. I'm not even sure which doorman signed (we have at least 8 that work in shifts).

And the next time I start a thread titled "Can you sign for this package," I will include a picture of me pointing to my junk.

Until then, I'll be enjoying my new projector.

When in HS working at grocery store we had a checker (long time employee) take a check from "U.R. Stuck". That's how the name was printed in the upper left hand corner and that's how the check was signed. And of course it was no good and the guy was never found.

My best was my dell laptop, priced at close to $2,000. It had specific instructions that it needed a signature. The UPS or FedEx guy (can't remember who) just left it on the doorstep of my house. I got home late at about 10:00 p.m. and there it was 8 hours or so after delivery. Then there was the printer that was delivered to a house 3 doors down and across the street. I had never even met the guy who signed for it.

My poor Panasonic was dying (blue haze spreading from the bottom right of the screen to all over) and the bulb was on the verge of death. So, since I was upgrading (as a repair and bulb replace would cost the same as a new 720P), I decided to go 1080P and get the new Epson 1080 Home Cinema. And so far, I'm very happy!
