For me...

My birthday present in November carried forward for Christmas

52" Toshiba Regaza HD LCD TV

Then wife and i got a joint present:

New Kitchen Table

And for me:
Peanut Brittle
Big Bang Theory Season 1 & 2
New Adidas Tour 360 4.0 (Waiting for them to arrive)
$75 Gift Card

Very happy as we were able to get the kids almost everything they wanted (Daughter wanted a laptop, I refuse to get her one as we have 4 of them in the house, 2 without power adapters, I just have to order for them and told her I would)

I had strongly suggested some gifts for my wife to give me and I got mostly anticipated stuff...

What I got:
a cordless shaver
F1 2009 for our son's new Wii (he got it for Xmas )
EA Active for the Wii
a 50 pieces universal socket/ratchet set (pretty awesome!)
$55 in gift cards to a local movie/music store
a $50 gift card to a clothes store
a Stetson cologne gift set (you're gonna laugh, I've never worn cologne or any type of perfume before but my wife said she thought it smelled good, and Tom Brady was on the box, LOL! I thought it was more a joke than anything, but it actually smells quite nice on me...)

Andrew's been on the Wii for the last couple hours, playing Star Wars Force Unleashed. Probably not the best Wii game ever made, but he is reallly, REALLY enjoying it.

I honestly think the best thing I got was something I gave. I got my girlfriend a photo album with her initials on it and put pictures of us, and her, and our two kittens in it. she broke out in tears (good ones ) that made my Christmas absolutely amazing

Those are the best gifts for sure. I had a similar moment with my wife this year. I get her a Teddy Bear each Christmas with the year stitched on it and last year I waited too long, then couldn't find any in stores with 2008.

So this year she got her 2009 Bear, but I also ordered a Vermont Teddy Bear with 2008 on it's hat and a note in the box that said "Sorry I am late, I fell off Santa's Sleigh last year." I gave her that one last and it got the biggest smile of the Morning by far, as well as some misty eyes. Made my morning too.

I like it so far. The cola tastes like RC and I've heard that it works if you want to play around with different mixes (rather than just use only what they have).

I got the same. Did you get the Stereo or Mono version? Also picked up a book called Mathletics which I hadn't heard of but looks really great for math/sports folks. Big time analytical book. $110 in Barnes and Noble gift cards because I wanted a Nook and now I'm not sure if I still want it. That part sucks. Star Trek Blu-Ray.

Me and my wife let our new house purchase in June carry over. And she surprised me with a GPS for the car. Our kids got spoiled rotten.

I got spoiled rotten. My big gift from RendeR was a Bissel steam mop (which I had really wanted). I love to read so people got me a ton of books and a Borders gift card. Some baking stuff. Some Christmas decoration stuff. An Applebee's gift card for a date night. My mom surprised me with a wooden file cabinet, which I've wanted for years. And a DVD set of those old stop-motion Christmas tv shows.

We got a new washer as part of our present, and we carried over some living room furniture from this year. I got:

- some spring clamps
- a panini grilling kit
- a charcoal grilling cookbook
- an Air Hogs Zero Gravity remote control car
- 25 gift card to Home Depot
- Chill Pad for my laptop
- Christmas Tie
- A washing machine earlier this year.
- Michael Crichton's last book
- Buckeye's (The Pb and Choc kind)
- 8 games on Steam for myself.

The kids got lots of lego's, their first gameboy's, marshmallow shooters. My oldest got a new MP3, and a stereo for his room, along with about 6 games on Steam. Wife got a electric throw so she could be warm when the rest of us are cooked.

Good day for all.

I gave the same thing to my wife. She always complains it's never warm enough in the house and would always end up curled under a "regular" throw so I figured an electric one would be the best. She put it to good use this afternoon and took a 90 minutes nap with it...

Part of my Christmas present was my laptop carrying over.

But I also got:
-360 Elite (to replace the one that fried in my badly wired apartment that still isn't fixed)
-Gift cards to Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Best Buy
-The complete series of The Shield
-Homemade cookies & candy
-Spain... On the road again, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow DVD*
-Moroccan black cape just like what I've always wanted
-Fraternity clothes, which I never get tired of wearing

* - The story behind this one is that I was in Granada when Gwyneth Paltrow came to the city to do that part of the filming. I didn't see her, but it was still cool and the DVD will be fun watching.

My wife thought the same thing about it tasting like RC. I thought it tasted more like Pepsi edge personally. I'd have kept it if it was a gift. But as something I spent 80 bucks on, I just didn't think it was gonna he worth it. Initially I thought I could probably forgo buying Pepsi but I just like Pepsi a lot more I guess.

We got my wife the "perfect brownie pan" thing they advertise on TV. Afte the first batch, I can say they are correct in their labeling. Every brownie had a nice crisp edge and soft chewy center. I ate 3 or 4 just to be sure.

Lessee...
-A GPS unit (more for my wife, who has nearly zero sense of direction)
-A Sony Blu-Ray player (though not necessarily for Blu-Ray, but to stream Netflix)
-A few books
-Um...well, my father-in-law gave us a check, so I suppose our new 32" TV would count as a present in that regard

My kids...my kids.... I am beginning to think that 2009 will be the pinnacle of their Christmas experience and it'll be downhill from here. My wife and I traveled separately to Charlotte for Christmas because I had to work on the 24th, but it's painfully clear we'll be needing the space of both cars to get everything back home and...it's not over yet. The girls have more stuff waiting for them back in Raleigh since we still have to get together with my wife's dad and his girlfriend, though neither of her brothers will be around this year so it shouldn't be a huge celebration.

So you're the guy who likes crisp brownie edges. I guess a lot of people must like that for them to put it in their advertising. Personally, I want all soft chewy center.

Got the kids a 2nd DS so they could play each other on stuff now. Also got them Rock Band, and got Beatles Rock Band for us. May end up getting the kids Lego Rock Band since regular Rock Band is a little out of their reach on anything except easy singing.

My wife and I are both addicted to the Rock Band drumming and have been fighting each other to do it.

Interesting, I had never even heard of the Nook.

but yes, it sounds like, you can't really go wrong with either.

Nook is nice because you can "loan" books (something that TBH I expect will force Amazon to adopt that on the Kindle via some sort of software update soon...man I hope). You can hack your Kindle to convert the books to PDF and then be able to move them to other Kindle's I guess though...but that seems like such an involved process for non techies.

Other than that not sure what the main differences are between the two - I've just seen a Kindle for the first time in Nov. and just saw the Nook display versions at B&N over the holidays

4 Julia Child cookbooks (One being "Mastering the Art of French Cooking")
A Nieman Marcus cookbook (this, apparently, was a cookbook themed year)
2 silicon wisks (perfect for use on cast iron cookware)
A copy of "Elf" (though in DVD, not Blu-Ray, alas)
A Timex leather banded wrist watch
A deep purple tie
My gf also made a picture frame filled with sentimental items from our first 5 months of dating

And prior to the day of:

Pixar Short Films, Vol 1 (on Blu-Ray)
Starbucks mug
2 $20 Starbucks giftcards
A set of Asian bowls and rectangular plates
$25 iTunes giftcard

As I already have a Kindle, this is the first year I didn't get non-cookbook books for Christmas.
