Modem Blues
My home modem has been playing up for the last few weeks and stopped working again yesterday. I had sent it away once to get repaired under warranty but I was without internet access for a week - it drove my teenage daughters crazy! When I rang the manufacturer yesterday, they said they would send a replacement modem but I needed to send the faulty unit first. I was happy to hear that but the problem is that we get a 4 day long weekend for Easter which means it will be about a week or more until the working modem arrives. To compound matters, I start a two week vacation which means I won't even have work access - and the girls will be home with me! I don't know who's going to snap first. I may have to sneak in to work with my laptop - there won't be anyone there. You don't realize how much time you spend on the internet until it's not there.

Sorry, it is a broadband modem/router - ADSL. It is a Netcomm brand - I'm not sure if it's an Australian only company. It has worked pretty well for the year I'd had it but just gone FUBAR recently. Actually to the company's credit, it came with a 12 month warranty and it just went over the year before stuffing up. They never made a fuss about 'being out of warranty' which I'm sure some companies would have. I was also prepared to kick up a stink if they did. If the company didn't come to the party, I was going to just buy a replacement one.
