QB Styles for Offense Types?

I’m having a heck of a time getting a decent QB to perform well. He is labeled as a “long pass” style quarterback and I’m running a spread. I suspect that I’ve created a mismatch that is messing up my offense. Anybody know which offenses match specific QB styles?

I'm by no means a QB Whisperer but I've seen plenty of QB styles perform well in a variety of systems, there are many other variables which play into positive QB performance.

What's your playbook like? even route distribution? your gameplan? your receivers? what exactly are you using to judge QB performance? YPA? TD/INT? Cmp%?

I have often speculated that the meshing the QB style with the offensive philosophy is important. That thought process is based on observations of the game's generated plays based on the QB selected.

As a disclaimer, I have not performed any tests/studies. Based on the chart in the offensive philosophy PDF (the chart that shows strength/weaknesses), I'd guess a long pass QB works best in a smashmouth, balanced or air coryell offense (with air coryell the best fit). And since I have run this combo a lot, I believe spread-roll out is a great fit.
