Spring Training: all I can find are standings, but no stats. I can find box scores, but batting averages and ERA are all .000.

This is ungodly frustrating I was able to update within the game yesterday after a billion tries and yet again I'm getting the same error message.

This must be a bug. Because I don't see them either, but there were games and there are box scores.

No problems downloading file here, aside from the stats issue.
Unfortunately my owner thinks I should win it all this year. Nothing like pressure. He should be happy as long as the Not-Yankees win it...

Whenever I download the FOOL-X file from in-game, it doesn't work either. So I always have to download the tar.gz file to update my game. I have no idea why it happens, but...it does for me in that league. I know that's not solving your problem, but...I'm just not sure what's going on over there.

I think the problem might be, that once you start the season that it clears all of those stats. But it shouldn't be doing that. So it's either some sort of DB issue for historical players or a bug. Or maybe it's a bug either way.

I was having issues a while back and Alan offered some advice that helped. Not sure if it will help you, but I'll look for the info and add it to the post as soon as I do. Edit: Here is something Alan sent to me about Windows users and something they can do to try and correct the issue. There is something funny going on DNS wise that was affecting Tasan recently, and Hyde just once that it sounds like has been messing you up too. Here is a possible fix for you if your issue is your DNS provider not having the record for the site: If you are using WindowsXP do the following: Edit the file C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Put the following line in at the end of that file: 72.29.81.63 www.bb-bbcf.net Then save the hosts file and close it. (make sure that you just save the file as HOSTS not hosts.txt or anything else) Then open a command prompt and type the following: nbtstat -R ipconfig /flushdns Then try from command prompt to: ping www.bb-bbcf.net It should respond and you should be good to go to get to the site at this point.

Then I told him I was on a Mac and he suggested changing something in my DNS to 208.65.222.222 and my probs were fixed.

Unfortunately that won't help EddieK because his issue is different, plus FOOL-H is on a different host.
Since EddieK is able to download the file and update manually, his problem is something different. Eddie, just making sure you can download the file manually and install it, just not from within the game correct? Can you take a screenshot of your FTP options from within the game? |

Are you using a wireless connection? In Beta, we had someone with the same problem that only occured when using HTTP download over wireless because of some issues with their signal quality combined with how poor OOTP's network functions are. If you are using wireless, can you try the same download wired and see if you encounter the same issue? |

Another exciting AL race. The Yankees didn't win. That makes it a successful season.

Yay, Not-Yankees won!
We were competitive but I figured the "win it all!" from my owner was a pipe dream.

Congrats to the playoff teams.
Especially big props to Louisville for making the playoffs all the way from 7th last season. Not sure what you did in the offseason or didn't do last year but something worked. Thanks DC.

Nice. 23-year-old SP Doc White lost a point of stuff and a point of control, then went 10-18 (vs 24-12 a year ago) with a 4.25 ERA (vs 2.71 a year ago). Sigh.

Yeah I am on wireless, I don't have a wired connection as the network is set up in my basement. Is it only because of the extra security settings that we are using because I don't have this issue with any other league. |

It probably is an issue with your connection to the server that hosts FOOL-H is just complicated by the wireless + http download within OOTP. You might not have issues with other leagues because either their connection to you is better, or they are using FTP download within ootp. My guess is if you tried to either download manually (not within the game), or download via wired (which you can't do you say because of where the connection is), it would work better for you. The only other option I can think of is if Dark Cloud wants to turn on FTP download for the league file, I can help him set that up instead, but that would be hist choice as it would require a slightly different set up. |

Because I didn't schedule the draft further (forgetting about the expanded playoffs) I need to stop here and let you all set your draft lists and then finish the post-season (and draft) tomorrow night.
We'll eventually move the draft to a different time in the schedule to where the compensation picks and such aren't mucked up with it being after the season, but..that said, we'll have to pause (or else, I'd have to let it draft for you and I know no one wants that) So the Fall Classic is tied at 2-2 and we're now taking a break for you all to set your draft lists by tomorrow night, so we can run the draft and then the rest of the post-season! |
