1 Year Mark (Please Read)

Well its coming up on 1 year of me taking over now. Its had some bumps and bruises but we've made it. I enjoy doing the leagues but wish I could do more things. I'd love to get the HOF back in order but we need to figure out the best way to go about it. We'll see how we can go about it in the near future.

1 year also mean its time to pay the website bill. As I said when I took over, I have lots of time but never enough money to swing this on my own. So I will ask again for your help. If by chance you can pitch in that would be great. For 1 year the total cost is $135. The bill is due by the October 14 so please let me know over the course of the week if you can pitch in.

Thanks for giving me the privilege to run the leagues.

A HUGE thanks for stepping up and taking over as commish. I know the time commit it has on you and Alan in the past. This is by far the best league I have been in and your commitment is very much appreciated.

Thanks again Dan for the time and effort you give to the league.

I'm willing to help out with the website fee.

Yes, Dan, as always thank you for your hard work in all this. What you do on a day to day basis is nothing short of amazing.

Like Kevin, I will be happy to help with the web site fee.

I'm quite a bit short of even the 6 month plan so if anyone can help out please let me know. I need to know what I have total by tomorrow so I know what I need to sell my soul to the devil (wife) for.

We all get enjoyment from these leagues. It's not fair to Dan for him to run FOOL and FOOLX and foot the bill for them.

I offered to chip in, but I'm not willing to chip in more than I should have to considering the amount of people we have participating around here. Chipping in is 10-12 people each throwing ten dollars in, not 3 people tossing a little in and letting Dan figure out the rest.

To be honest, I'm a little discouraged by all the people that read his initial post and chose not to respond. I realize people here have different levels of interest, financial situations, etc. If you're on the fence about whether you want to be in the league I can see not wanting to pitch in. If you're unemployed and living day to day I can see not wanting to do your part. However, if you're planning on sticking around and enjoying the fake baseball it would be nice if you made an effort to throw five to ten dollars towards Dan so we can keep things going.

I think FOOL should be updated every other year. Fool updates on odd-numbered version and Fool-x on the even-numbered version. Ideally, the update would not occur until the World Series so the game can be bought for half price. That's a savings of $60 of which $10/year goes for Fool Upkeep. The game has gone up in price $5/year for 4 consecutive years and I'm not paying full price anymore.
