I got it out a little late since I was busy yesterday, but I posted up:

Jimmy Sheckard only wants $23mil a year for 5 years to re-sign

A $114.7 million dollar contract.

I think I might look into broadway musicals instead of owning a ball club.

Edit:

Soon to be 35 year old George S. Davis wants a far more reasonable $17 mil for 3 years to re-sign instead!

I'm screwed as well. My payroll estimate 2 years down the road is above 70 Mil. Fortunately I have 7 starting pitchers that look exactly the same so I'll be able to trim the payroll down accordingly, but I don't know how I'm going to be able to resign young guys with the amount of money they want.

You teams with 50 mil in the bank need to spend some of that damn money already!

The pitching in this league is very weird for me. So many pitchers with very similar ratings, it's hard to tell who I need and who I don't.

I take this back. Looks like most of the team are actually filling out their payroll. 14 of the 16 teams are over 55 Mil.

How soon do we look to reduce player demand modifiers? Not saying we have to, but we should keep a close eye on it.

Very hard to decide on who to start and who to push into the pen. I'm having such a hard time I decided to go with a 6 man for the coming season.

My biggest problem right now is actually recovering from the season sim when no one's export went through. I had a ton of young guys called up for the spring that I hadn't planned on playing in the majors. So now all of them have the $350k contracts that is eating up an extra $4 or $5 mil of my cap.

Because of that, I am going to have to play this season at 18 men to get under the $65mil cap. This should make things more exciting for me

After this season we should finally recover financially enough to try to figure out what to do from here. The past two seasons we've lost almost all of our best talent due to salary demands, so time to figure things out real fast here!

I updated the team owner/team name for Brooklyn in the Team list: FOOL-H Team List «

I have to remember what to do to fix the export tracker to show the new team name. For now buckinbranco, just look at the Brooklyn Robins entry, that still will show up your valid export time.

Not this year. Nap and Ginger are certain to lead the Redbirds to victory.

Sounds good Alan. Apparently my owner expects us to make the playoffs. I have a feeling I'm going to stink it up for a while though. I have no idea what I'm doing in this era of baseball

It gets updated with the csv's. DC needs to change it in-game.

Yeah, I kind of meant I need to figure out what to tell DC to send me for me to do it for him We are only using the utility for the export tracker, so DC hasn't been updating the csv's each sim for this league. Sorry for the confusion!

Just went ahead and modified the csv files by hand! Who needs technology anyways?

Edit: So the export tracker is updated to show Brooklyn's new name.

Drop me a PM if you need help with it. I run Statslab without problems for FOOL-X and might be able to help some. (Probably not as good as fhomess can though)

I have 2 questions:

1. About the schedule - Can we think about allowing the spring training rosters to expand before the ST sim?

and

2. I thought that OOTPX forces the entire 40 man roster to be brought up for ST. I have 33 on my 40 man but only 27 on my ST roster.

Thanks.

I didn't expand the rosters, it was a mistake. There used to be a time in OOTP when you could put over the max on the ST roster, but now it has to be done manually and I forgot this week.

I don't believe OOTPX forces the entire 40 man roster to ST unless you let the AI do it for you prior to the start of ST and then I think it'd happen. But it's not automatic.

I'll keep an eye on it. It seems like something that will probably need to be rolled back, given the situation we're in.

You still can go over at ST. The last two seasons you stopped the sim at March 1st, but for whatever reason spring training didn't officially start until March 3rd or whatever.

Just use the pulldown to sim to Spring training start and then it should be working for everyone.

As for the AI automatically bringing everyone up at the start of ST, that only happens if you have waivers turned on which we don't.

No biggie. I was just curious...

That makes sense. It would've worked out well had the AI done it this year. I rarely have a league w/o waivers so I didn't make the connection. Thanks.

I'm excited for it. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to compete with only 19 players, but still excited!

Well, it's a bit easier to compete with fewer players in FOOL-H when you get guys that can play 6 positions well. A 2B that's also a good C, a pitcher who can play LF, etc.

Yeah, I pretty much am playing one guy at the backup to every position except Catcher. We'll see how that does!
