What if you were 43? How about going to college and there were no computers or video games yet? The only arcade entertainment was pinball machines.

You don't know how many friend I lost track of because I was too damn lazy to write letters. I would probably still be in touch with them if there was only e-mail back in the day. Quote:
Hell yeah, the JC Penny catelog. It was either that or risk getting caught with my old man's porn. Quote:
Man, half the time I fucked up my Atari games by putting them in only half way and getting some cool ass colors and graphics that way. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was the best game to do this with. It also fucked up the Atari. I think we went through four of the bastards. Quote:
Hell, may dad was too cheap to get cable. I remember how excited I was when Fox was introduced and expanded the number of channels we had to four! Hell yeah, kids today have it soooo easy...

Don't forget a major one...the typewriter versus the computer.
How many pages did I have to retype because of errors, and no correcting tape? Either that, or face a white out wonderland on the final paper and get ripped for it by the teacher.

I have fond, nostalgic memories of my first computer, a Trash-80. Of course, it's only nostalgia. I'm sure the thing would bore me to tears today.

A post in another thread (MIJB #19 drops out of the top ten) deserves to be here.

And it was shown on FILM!!! With that God awful sound and the picture that rolled about every four seconds. Errrrrrrr!!!!!! Damn whipper snapper! (Hey, I'd like to whip her snapper!)

I've got a good old NES at my parents house. I think I might set it up and play some Tecmo Super Bowl when I go there over spring break.

Hmm, you think that I should bring my NES home with me? Nah, then I wouldn't ever make it to school, work, or be able to see my girlfriend...

Yeah, FOX was great for me as well. When they finally put cable in our neighborhood, the guys actually cracked our driveway trying to bore under it. After a couple of failed attempts, they ended up going across the street. After all that, we never ended up getting cable. It was so sweet when I got to college and could actually watch something other than the networks. |

I enjoyed the old atari games...River Raid.
And my cable was like 90 channels, on a big box with a flip switch, and there was no greater joy than hanging around after 9 and getting a glimpse of Playboy channel. And old computer games, that had no save feature, now that was a challenge... G.I.Joe kicked ass too...
