Continental League Names Top Gloves
Thursday, November 10th, 2174: What does it take to win a Best Fielder Awards? It's a combination of good hands, knowing how to play the hitters, all-out hustle and a willingness to sacrifice your body to make a play. Good speed and a good arm never hurt, either, but not always required. This year's all-defense team in the Continental League consists of:

CL Best Newcomer Named
Friday, November 11th, 2174: The regular season is now history and it's awards time in the Continental League. This year's winner of the Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award is 22-year-old Jeff McCutcheon of the Baltimore Gothams.

The talented left fielder batted .306, played in 151 games and delivered 194 hits in 634 at-bats. His totals also included 24 home runs, 86 RBIs, 101 runs scored, 42 walks and a .355 OPB.


Albear Snares RL Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award
Friday, November 11th, 2174: Ánibal Albear of the Ann Arbor Winged Lingerines made quite a splash on the Republic League scene in 2174 by nabbing the Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

The standout Winged Lingerines left fielder took the honor by hitting .255 in 157 games this season and finishing with 154 hits, 28 home runs, 84 RBIs and 94 runs scored.

CL Awards Outstanding Pitcher Trophy
Sunday, November 13th, 2174: The Gabriel Prado Award for 2174 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Alan Field of Noblesville.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Field. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Millers star told reporters.

Field excelled with an impressive 18-5 record in 33 starts. In 207.2 innings he yielded 187 hits and 23 walks, while striking out 184 and compiling a fine 2.86 ERA.


Hooligans Reliever Wins 2174 Gabriel Prado Award
Sunday, November 13th, 2174: It was a history-making year for Hammersmith reliever Luis Villanueva. He put up some impressive numbers, including 46 saves in 50 save opportunities on his way to earning the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award for 2174.

The 24-year-old relief star went 9-6 in 74 games with a 1.91 ERA.

Murphy Wins CL 2174 Hideaki Tanaka Award
Monday, November 14th, 2174: 2174 was a very good year for Brooklyn Brownstones second baseman Reginald Murphy, this year's Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award recipient.

Murphy had an impressive season, hitting .335 with a .360 on-base percentage. He totaled 232 hits, 46 doubles, 8 triples, 37 home runs, 119 RBIs and scored 127 runs.


RL Announces Best Batter Award
Monday, November 14th, 2174: Lorenzo Pérez of the Hartford Riverhawks enjoyed a gourmet season at the dish in 2174. With the numbers he put up, there was little doubt that he'd be taking home the Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

He put up 201 hits in 631 at-bats for a .319 average while amassing 38 doubles, 3 triples, 45 home runs, 79 walks, a .406 on-base percentage, 135 RBIs and 129 runs scored.
