Thanks! I didn't realize you could set the 1st year minimum salary the same as the rookie minimum salary.

I may adjust the salary cap numbers to start at 20M then before I regenerate.

I believe this was my original problem. I downloaded the old files from an earlier link. The "logos that work in FOF8" thread has a link to the newest files. BTW, thanks, nilodor, for sharing them.

Seconded on the thanks. I was able to get the new files to work with no problem and the first draft file imported flawlessly.

The only question remaining is figuring out how I want to deal with the salary cap situation.

OK so i have the old files, but my question is, how can i get them to work in the new game in one quick answer. I know there is bunch of posts talking about removing this from the sheet and removing that from the sheet but what needs to be done in one answer to get these to work in FOF8?

Kind of but not really. A bunch of deleting. I'm sure at some point it will get fixed. I won't worry about it now.

Thanks though.

Delete the last four columns in the player files. Draft files need no attention.

Sorry for resurfacing an oldish post but I think its better than starting a new thread...

Is it normal behavior for the free agents in the 1960s start to ask for 7-10 million dollar contracts? I have all the money 'factors' I could find bottomed out, 20 mil a year cap and players sign during the season for 100k a year to 190k...to say I was shocked when I hit the first Free Agency Period would be an understatement.

Did I miss something somewhere in the league setup or is this just how it goes in FA?

Thanks for your time!
T

EDIT: I think I figured it out...

Hey Brian, sorry for the late response as i had a baby so i haven't had time for much. I"m looking at the 1960.csv file right now. When you say delete the last 4 columns in the csv file, are you referring to columns CK, CL, CM & CN?

Also when saving the cvs file, do i need to do anything with the 1960 fdt. file?

Edit ** Also i tested it out loading and i noticed that all the players have quotes around their names. is this because it's going from version 7 to 8 or did i delete the wrong column.

this file works, but there are quotes around every single name, so I monkeyed with the CSV for 1960. here is what i found.

column W in the csv needs to be moved to column V.
column X in the csv needs to be moved to column U.
salaries need to start at column BY
all values of 6 and 7 in the new BY (formerly CA) need to be changed to 5.
the last two years of bonus and salary (every column after CI) need to be deleted.

making these changes will allow you to generate a new player file for the year that you are looking at. Remember that you will have to change the salaries when generating these files using the Player File Generator app.

I'm happy to send the 1960 that I created to anyone who needs it.
