So they have a 50% off sale. $20. Is it worth it over OOTP13 (which I don't play much anyway)? I'm having a tough time talking myself into even $20. What makes it better than 13?

This may be an oft-addressed complaint, so my apologies ahead of time....

Is there a happy medium for the AI Trade logic between "Normal" and "Hard"? Because Normal is just way too easy to exploit and Hard is impossible to get a deal done.

As the Cubs, I'm trying to deal Scott Hairston. At Normal, the Pirates offer me Pedro Alvarez. At Hard, they only accept a deal for a 1-star prospect if I include Baez, Almora, or Soler.

and before I get flamed, I'm not trying to shit on the AI, I'm trying to find a workaround to the (what I perceive) huge gap between Normal and Hard.

Maybe this setting needs a slider, or at the very least a "Somewhat Hard" setting

I bought the game for $20. I haven't got into a text sim in awhile, but I figured it was worth a shot.

Is there usually a quickstart that comes out where we can start the game in the 2013-14 offseason (ie, right now?). Ideally, it would have updated rosters as Matt Carpenter is rated very low coming out of the box.

When you load up the game and license it etc., go into the Add-On section and download and then install the All in One for 2013.

Should be all you need.

Before you start simming, go through the game options to set things how you'd like.

But that allows just to start at beginning of the 2013 season, right?

There is no way to start at the end of the 2013 season, with updated stats, ratings, etc?

Ah, I misread your post. Usually around the holidays a file like this gets made.

Hey Marcus, any chance this gets fixed in the next version....

"I still think they(free agents) should always consider any reasonable offer, i'd say reasonable would be 60-75% of their asking price and then sign it @ the start of the regular season/halfway point in ST if they don't get anything higher. Every year we have guys turn down 12-15 M per and end up signing for peanuts @ the start of spring training. It's been a giant logic flaw that is obviously working as intended for a very long time. "

Dubb93 brought this up on the PCJBL forums, a OOTP league that has about a million rules to fix the holes the game was intended to make....

Nice point Johnny - I see the same thing frequently - and it seems stupid for a star player to in any case be playing for a single year for a tiny salary just because no one would meet his initial offers. I think linked to this is that while the players do scale down their salary demands over time, sometimes if there are a lot of free agents the teams can run out of money and there can be left several top free agents who just never sign and end up missing part of or even a whole season.

You should post this on the OOTP forums.

Yeah, that's been a flaw in the game for YEARS that needed to be fixed. Their price comes down, but they still don't sign...

Speaking of, I've been trying to get back into the game and I just haven't been able to unlike past years.

Not sure why YD - I absolutely love the 14 version - right now playing some historical games but mostly I play fictional.

It's me, not the game.

I still get pissed when they say they want 10 years 10 mil per.. and then say no when you offer it to them!

Is this the best (only?) baseball sim available on Mac? I mostly just want to manage game-by-game, but Strat and other replay games don't appear available on Mac.
