I've used FOF for a few years now, and love it. I just got TCY, and love that too. I was wondering if anyone knows of any similar games in other sports (really just baseball and basketball).

Baseball I tried 3dos High Heat, but there's no free agency moving (I've got 2002 - maybe it's changed since). I did love the detailed Triple-A, Double-A, and rookie management though. And the option of watching/playing a game if I wanted was decent, although rarely used.

Basketball I've found nothing.

PS. I live in Detroit, so especially with football and baseball, sims are the ONLY way I can celebrate sporting successes ! LOL

For baseball, I would recommend Out of the Park, really the only baseball game I will play anymore. Go to http://www.ootpdevelopments.com for more info.

For basketball, Fastbreak College Basketball comes highly recommended from a number of people here. I haven't played it myself though.

As for living in Detroit, I feel your pain. The game today was brutal, and Schroeder needs to die.

OOTP is pretty popular for baseball and is especially good for multiplayer. A lot of people seem to enjoy Fast Break for basketball (with both pro and college versions available).

If you really like text sims you owe it to yourself to also check out Championship Manager. Its soccer, but its really the standard against which all others are measured.

There is a list around here somewhere if you search.

For baseball you'll find OOTP most popular - they are on version 5 (OOTP5). I think it's like $20 right now. Well worth it.

For basketball, the two biggest entries would probably be:

1. .400 studios' Tournament Dreams College Basketball and the very recently released Total Pro Basketball.
2. Fast Break Basketball and Fast Break College Basketball. You'll find a bunch of threads about those games the easiest way to search for them might be to do an FOFC search for a poster by the name of HeavyReign.

Look in the sticky thread up at the top of the page. In the penultimate section is entitled "Other Text Sims: Patches/Releases/Strategies/Etc." There is plenty of info there, plus the first entry in that section is to the comprehensive text sim thread, which has info about text sims from virtually every major sport. Use the sticky!

Fast Break College Basketball is a must, imo... if you like college basketball. The game is just as immersive as TCY, again imo.

Baseball, I would wait until this years crop of games is out, although I think ootp5 is at a reduced price right now. Hockey will have EHM soon.
