Yahoo Statracker
Anyone else having serious problems with this service this year? It's not like I expect a $9.95 program to be the greatest service in the world, but I can't even get on the damn thing anytime between 12 and 6 on Sundays. Plus, and maybe this is just my computer, when I close Statracker my system crashes half the time. Is this a unique problem to my computer or has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Crashes my system on startup about 25% of the time. I only open it up when really necessary.
Once it's up and running, I haven't had any problems.

Any ideas on why? I admit, I am baffled and it sounds like it only happens to some users. I think they tried to get way too fancy and made the program a lot larger than it used to be, but it still shouldn't crash my computer that often. |

I think it's a java applet, and I've found all java applications to be very memory intensive on any system I've ever had. I think sometimes it's just a bit too much (especially if you have other programs running). |

Mine takes forever to load up, but once it does, it stays up. I love to watch it. I'm supposed to be working on a paper for class, but I've been watching the damm tracker all day instead.
But, when I close the tracker on one of the computers in my house, it crashes it, but if I close it on the other, it never crashes it. I just thought it was something wrong with that one computer or something. I will buy it again next year though |

It sometimes hangs on me when I try to open it, but I then close the window and open it again and it works ok. I've never had any problems with it crashing my system. I agree with the whole staring at the stattracker thing, every Sunday the Lions are on the road I sit here staring at the damn thing all day. Actually, thats probably a lot more productive than sitting at the Lions game during the other weeks |

I have trouble using IE and statracker together. It loads up fine but it subtracts stats and then reupdates them about every 5 - 10 minutes. I tried using netscape 7.0 a couple weeks ago and it has worked fine except I get what looks like last years version of the statracker instead of the new version.

I don't use it, but I've seen several reports on other forums from people having the same issues you describe.

I've had similar flakiness, and I'm pretty sure it is a Java problem as cthomer5000 said. Despite numerous attempts at updating Java/Javascript I was never able to fully resolve the problem (this was with the Baseball Statracker).

I never had a bit of problem with the baseball stat tracker. And for the first time last night it didn't crash the one computer it usually crashes in football....who knows
