I liked how relatable their struggles were to my life. Their common theme of career underachievement struck a chord with me, as I've always felt like I should be doing better with my career than I am. My best friends from college are all doctors, successful business guys, psychiatrists, etc. These were folks who performed on par with me in school. Now they are all big successes. Then there's me, who's just an editor doing nothing very special with whatever brains I was born with. For whatever reason, I've never been driven in any particular direction career-wise, so I've just kind of languished in whatever job I happened into.

I hold out vague hope that talk radio will make a comeback and pave the way for a return. CT & Jivin deserved a better shake than they got in the end.

By the way, I love when Jivin breaks into his voices. I know a lot of people hate when he tries to do an accent, but they always make me laugh.

Maybe they should give the whole Wolfman and Crazy thing a try.

Honestly, what gives me hope is that a comeback seems no more unlikely than how they got screwed.

I saw something on a news show a while back where something with the way royalties are handled might change soon and force terrestrial radio to go to more of a talk direction due to increased costs associated with broadcasting music. Don't remember a ton of details, unfortunately.

I was actually thinking about this and the 2012-onward model of this thread probably doesn't involve hoping to get a radio gig at all.

Sorry for a bump that makes people think that there might be news about the show.

It occurred to me this morning that every time someone stops the elevator in my office building by shoving their arm through closing doors because they are too busy/important to wait 10 seconds for the next elevator, I call that the "Indiana Jones" in my head and think of CT's awesome rants against it.

Currently on a run listening to every show in the superarchive. Enjoying the heck out of it. Miss this show a lot.

Couple of shows back, it was interesting to hear Jivin trashing Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker.

I probably burn through their entire archive about twice a year. Every once in a while something happens and I wonder what CT & Jivin would have to say about it. Would be great if the podcast ever started up again as I've never listened to another show that I enjoyed like this one.

Does anyone have the first 92.3 Free FM show? Just got there in my listening run and would love to listen to that again.

Listening to the best CT & Jivin episode ever. So many laughs. The last hour is just gold.

I missed the exact anniversary, but CT & Jivin's final show was 5 years ago this month. April 5th, 2010.... :-(

Way ahead of its time. Seems like the feasibility of a venture such as this would have so much better in 2012 or so.

We need a special edition of CT & Jivin regarding the coronavirus panic. Seems right up their alley

Someone should upload their shows to Youtube, so they don't get lost to history.

Interestingly enough, I was just listening episode 95 - Jam Band.

I was telling a friend the story of this show tonight and was disappointed to find no trace of it anywhere. Does anyone know where to find old episodes?

I have 143 episodes (~7 GB) of the show on my laptop that I still listen to from time to time. Was planning to listen through again and then compile a single file with my favorite parts but haven't really had time to do it.

I would have loved to listen to those guys up in NYC during the pandemic

Is there any way I can get a copy of that archive?

I'll need to figure out how to share. My home internet is craptastic so I'd probably have to go to the library to share it, but need to figure out where.
