Not worried at all. As I said, I'd like to be disappointed with 17-4 every year.

I'm not worried because our 'murderer's row' in our schedule is pretty much over. Take a look at the rest of the schedule.

at Oklahoma State
Colorado
at Kansas
Oklahoma
Tech
at Iowa State
Baylor
at Kansas State
at Nebraska
Kansas

Outside of the Kansas games, we have a great shot at winning all of those games. 11-5 is a good probability. That likely will get you a bye in the tournament with an overall record of 25-6. Even a 10-6 record gives you a record of 24-7. I'll begrudgingly take that.

I feel a little better about WVU losing to St. John's now.

I think Lavin is going to be very successful as long as he is CEOing and recruiting and he has Gene Keady on the bench managing things during actual games. If Keady sticks around for another two seasons, St. John's could be really good.

They have a ton of seniors this season and their freshmen will take some lumps next year, but I'd look for them to be in he top 4-5 in the BE after that.

Looks like some of the mid-week games in the Big 12 may be postponed due to the winter storm.

A quick reading of the NCAA rules states at the ball must travel through the basket, and in their definition of the basket, the net is part of it. So technically the ball must pass through the net. If someone knocks it back through, that is goaltending, but from the video is seems the net itself slings the ball back out.

Nope. Has to go completely through the net to count.

There is also another phrase for the definition of "goal" in the rule book that says "remains in" the basket. So apparently if the net traps the ball after it enters from above, that counts. But not sure if I've ever seen that happen in a game before.

Wally Judge has quit at KSU. What a mess. Martin's time at KSU is starting to look eerily similar to the Quin Snyder years at Mizzou. A surprising Elite Eight experience followed by a high ranking that turned into a season-long failure. Martin will get a shot next year, but the talent is bare at this point and I'm not sure he can turn it around.

Texas with another stellar defense effort, getting their first win at College Station in 7 years, 69-49. I guess they just got lucky and A&M missed a bunch of open shots in holding the Aggies to 17 of 55 shooting for the game.

OSU is opening the doors for the OSU/Mizzou game. No admission charge for anyone brave enough to make it to the game. Mizzou still here in KC. Going to try to make it to Stillwater tomorrow.

Seems like a really bad idea. Didn't OSU really have to make it back from that game in Colorado a few years ago? Just reschedule the damn thing! It's not 1940, a trip to Stillwater is an hour from Columbia regional.

Yeah, I'm hoping if they do go that they go via bus. Flying in 50 MPH winds seems like a really bad idea. KCI is closed and not expected to open until tomorrow. Not sure if any flights will go out of the downtown airport either. I'm sure the OSU staff is also thinking about that tragedy and wondering if they should risk it.

Interesting that I just heard Judge could end up at Rutgers based on his connection with assistant coach David Cox from their DC Assault days.

We'll find out pretty soon if the Horns have a shot at winning the Big 12. They host OU, then run the Big 12 gauntlet in the five games after that:

vs. A&M
at Kansas
at Oklahoma State
vs. Mizzou
at A&M

4-1 would be excellent for that stretch, but 3-2 is more likely.

I never would have pegged them to go 5-0, especially winning each of the games in dominating fashion.

Yeah, but it's a little dinky executive airport. It's not exactly a popular taking off point. Can't say I've ever flown out of there.

Whew! Wisconsin comes around to beat Purdue. Kind of a strange game. Purdue had 19 points in the first half and then had 19 points in the first five minutes of the second half. The Badgers were able to overcome a 12/13 field goal run for the Boilermakers and a 7 pt deficit in the second half to win at home. Some definite help on occasion from the referees but then some mind-boggling missed calls. JaJuan Johnson is over-rated in my opinion. He travels a lot (not called) and makes poor decisions. I admit he's a good baller but not a top-notch player that is always said about him. I would take Jon Leuer over him every day of the week (but that may be my rose colored glasses talking though).

And I HATE analysts who talk about the Badgers. I just heard the guy say "If you like watching paint dry you might like watching the Badgers...." Really? Really.. Really? Excuse the Badgers for being one of the most efficient offenses in all of college basketball. And then add the fact that they have two players that are quite possibly top five in the country at their positions in Jordan Taylor and Leuer.

It's actually a pretty busy airport, but it's all private executive jets and charter flights. I've flown in a private jet a couple times out of there. Pretty nice to not have to go through security to fly somewhere.

Holy shit what a start to this 4 game stretch I mentioned over the weekend... UNC absolutely decimates Boston College in their house, 106-74. This is the best I've seen UNC play since the 2009 national title game. Against NC State they had some poor stretches but State was just not up to taking advantage of it. Here there was just no weakness, no poor stretch at all.

Harrison Barnes sets another career high with 26 points. He took maybe one bad shot, added 6 boards and only turned it over once. The turnovers are as important imo as the scoring, he's really played in control the past couple games and has hopefully turned a corner.

HUGE game against FSU at home coming up this weekend, FSU is only 1/2 game behind Duke and UNC at the top of the league.

I'd like to point out again that things *really* seemed to come together imo the second Larry Drew was benched for Kendall Marshall.

Oklahoma beat Baylor 73-66 for their 4th straight win. They are currently 4th in the conference. Now, I know they will probably maintain this, but it still feels good knowing they are not as bad as predicted. Of course, the entire Big XII is pretty weak this season.

#2, #3, #14, & #16. It's no Big East but not that weak. I think the bottom 6 teams (not sure what to make of Baylor and K-State) ae justr very close to each other and thus there are a lot of 3 and 4 win teams.

According to Ken Pom its

1. Big Ten .8999
2. Big East .8824
3. Big 12 .8591
4. ACC .8274
5. Pac-10 .8064

Big 12 is the only conference with 2 teams in his top 5. Big 10 has 3 in the top 10. Big East has 10 in the top 30 but only 1 in his top 10.

MSU is basically done. They are currently getting beat by 20+ to Iowa and 5 of their next 6 are against ranked teams and they finish @Michigan. Izzo's tourney magic will have to work it's magic in the NIT because I'm clueless how a team this lifeless flips the switch at this point.

Syracuse with a much needed win and a big one at that.

It's really quiet here at the Poli house. The Mizzou game is on. Odd, my roommate isn't talking smack about the greatness of Mizzou. I wonder what the matter is.

I was very surprised they were able to make the run they did last year with a lack of scoring options. Seems to be a bigger problem this year. Izzo's coaching can only take them so far he just needs a get a couple scorers to go with a his great rebounders and defenders.
