Baseball Simulator 1.000 Interactive Dynasty
Baseball Simulator 1.000 was one of my favorite games for the NES. I particularly loved the ability to create your own team, so that's what we'll be doing here...
Rules: 1. I need 6 participants. 2. Each participant will create a team from a defined set of points in several categories. 3. We will not be using the Ultra Power Ups. (If this works, we may do that in a future season). 4. Everything rides on how well you initially create your team. You'll have no control after that point. 5. I will set up a 30 game season. There are no playoffs. The regular season winner is the champ. 6. The first thing I'll need is... Team Name: (9 Characters in length) Stadium: Since your stadium might affect your strategy, we'll need to decide that first. Stadiums are listed below and can be picked first come, first serve. DOME: Fairly deep outfield and big foul areas. TOWN: Smallish outfield and foul areas. The infield is all dirt. SPACE: Short outfield and almost no foul areas. GRASS: Average sized outfield and small foul areas. Dirt infield, despite the name. HARBOR: Average sized outfield and big foul areas. BROWN: Average sized outfield and foul areas. Dirt infield and foul lines.

Once you have selected your team name and stadium, you can send to me via PM the following:
Batters - You will have 8 starters and 4 pinch hitters. You will want to list the 8 starters in lineup order. For each batter, please send... Name: (4 characters max) Position: (not required for pinch hitters) Hand: Left or Right Avg.: Each hitter starts with a minimum .150 average. You have 1.200 pts to increase for the whole team. HR: 150 pts. for the whole team. R: Running Speed. 130 pts for the whole team. F: Fielding. 200 pts for the whole team Pitchers - You will have 6 pitchers. Generally, the computer will use the first 4 as starters and last 2 as releivers, but it will also depend on how tired they are and how they are used in each game. List the starters first. Name: (4 characters max) Throw: Right or Left. You can also make a submarine pitcher if you want. ERA: You have 18.00 pts and you must distribute all of them. Max of 9.99 for any single pitcher. SPD: Pitching speed. All start at a minimum of 62 mph and you have 180 pts to increase for your whole staff. R: Right curve. 35 total pts. L: Left curve. 35 total pts. F: Forkball. 20 total pts. ST: Stamina. 160 total pts.

I'm in! I loved the NES games. Besides Baseball Simulator, I was a huge fan of Baseball Stars and Little League Baseball, and of course RBI Baseball. I've actually been considering getting a Retro 3 system with NES, SNES, and Genesis so I can play all my favorite childhood games again.
Hold a team for me please, it'll take me a couple days to get you all the info, thanks. |

Don't need all details yet, but you should pick a stadium if you have a preference.

Could I see an example for a hitter and pitcher? I am not sure if I am clear on how to distribute the point, what the max is for each category, if ERA should be high or low, etc

Here are a couple of the default teams included in the game.
Code:
Code:
Category Maximums *Average: .750 HR: 99 R: 99 F: 99 ERA: 9.99 (or 0.00 for low). Lower is better *Spd: 124 R: 35 L: 35 F: 20 ST: 90 For Average, you are increasing your points from a minimum of .150. So to get a hitter with .750 would cost .600 of your 1.200 pts. For Pitching Spd, you are increasing your points from a minimum of 62 mph. So to get a pitcher with 124mph would cost you 62 pts.

I'm going to take it this project is dead in the water due to lack of interest? Or are you still going to try to run it? If so, I'll be interested when you get it going.
