Looks like New York will be offering a discount firesale at mid-season. So if your team is on the bubble or you want to try to get back in for the 2nd half...let's talk.

Good to see that logjam in the AL. Meanwhile in the NL, Chicago and Carolina duke it out. Good to see Brooklyn hanging nearby..

Ok, file is up. Tomorrow we'll do the draft and Thursday we'll do the 2nd half. Remember that New York would happily deal you some talent so you can win provided you wanna part with some prospects. I guess it's time to give up and rebuild sadly.

Lord, Logan Becker may be about to celebrate his 39th birthday, but he's having a season for the ages. Through 35 games, 26 saves, 0.28 ERA, 1 ER, a 51/5 K/BB, a 0.74 WHIP, and a .181 average against. A high BABIP (.352) means he's probably been getting a little unlucky, too.
Memphis' other ageless wonder keeps putting into doubt whether he'll ever retire. The oldest man in the league, Ted Conley, is still hitting .293/.358/.395 with 13 SB/6 HR so far. Not what he was a couple of years ago, but still an above average bat for a 41 year old. Last edited by Jack Raden : 03-06-2012 at 10:41 PM. |

It just occurred to me that Los Angeles is within striking range of the AL Wild Card so far. Their payroll is just $8m.

I guess theres no more midseason free agency.
Also, I can't believe I got Chris Ross in the draft. How was he not the first pick? |

There is mid-season free agency. Your commissioner just wasn't at home and completely forgot about it. He apologizes. I will put the guy on your roster for you right now. If you have instructions, send them to me. I believe he must've fallen to you because Milwaukee has been on auto-pilot for about a season and a half now.

Triple crown for Chowen. Nice.
321 strikeouts for Foster. And 20 wins again. Can we upset Carolina two years running in the post season? A few adjustments may help. Export is in.

Is there a sim where we can execute team options on player contracts? The one after the WS maybe?

ALCS GAME 7
The improbable comeback story of the Stars might be one for the books. Down 3-0 in the Series to the two-time defending AL champion Memphis Smokers, they need another miracle if they wanted to get back to the Sunset Series for the 2nd time in 4 years. 1st inning: 1-1 4th inning: 4-1 Syracuse After 7 innings: 4-2 Syracuse After 8 innings: 5-2 Syracuse FINAL SCORE: 5-4 Syracuse, Memphis put up 2 more in the bottom of the 9th but couldn't get more. Nelson Remedios struck out six in 7 1/3rd innings to get the win. |

For next week's schedule...I'm going to be on the road specifically Thursday and Friday. I should have access to either of my machines so I can run stages via my iPad, but if there are delays that I'm not able to post for some odd reason (highly unlikely ones like lack of internet, etc.) then just know I haven't abandoned you...it's just logistical.

Well Chicago's bats were impotent in the post season.
Wait 'til next year! Congratulations to Division mate Carolina in showing me the exit and to Syracuse in wining it all. Second title for Syracuse, having previously won it in 1842.
