Ok, so...the SLOP explosion expansion continues.

TurnerONU22 is another fast-sim veteran from the days of FOOL and will return to the league in the upcoming year. wolvie109 is an experience OOTP GM who will be making his fast-sim debut next year too.

Let the good times roll!

While no one went perfect in SLOP today, the streak of no no-hitters did end in the 1st half twice.

Lake Tahoe got no-hit twice within about two weeks. First, it was Toshi Aoyama who no-hit the Syndicate for Carolina. 13 days later, Dave Breglia of Winnemucca walked six and struck out nine as he no-hit the Syndicate for the 2nd no-hitter of the year.

Only the 7th no-no in 19 years of SLOP history and these two were the first in nine years. That year was the only time we've seen a perfect game, back when Jose Gonzales did it for Chicago against Winnemucca.

The Syndicate join the Smokers as the only teams to be no-hit twice.

just curious for those that do your own draft lists. How many players did you end up putting on your list this year?

Ok gang. Draft done, trades processed and file is up.

I'll process any last-minute trades through 5pm eastern tomorrow (with a file subsequently released after they're processed.)

That is to say, the trade deadline isn't officially until tomorrow afternoon.

Why are our minor league team names all changed to be the same as our big league club? Also, I think a city changed too..... My AAA team used to be Moncton Citizens (I remember because I live in Moncton) and now it's Charleston Kings... Weird?

I had no idea you lived in Moncton. That's an amazing coincidence. Truthfully, I fixed the minors because 1) I figured it'd be easier to follow the histories of minor league teams if they had the names of the major league clubs and 2) I didn't think anyone was nearly as invested in them. There should be a haha in here somewhere...because I chuckled. Too funny that it worked out that way for you.

I can happily rename them as you all request. It doesn't matter to me at all. I put them in cities near the home club in most cases, with some exceptions (and laziness) as necessary.

I was kicking around a 2nd wild card for the future, but it seems that until things normalize in the standings, that it won't really do much because the leagues are so full of haves and have nots. Plus, I know how traditional we can be in these parts. It was just a "gee I wonder if that would help make things more competitive" for those teams that are on the cusp of being contenders, but the standings don't bear that out right now.

At least a 19 game improvement for Lake Tahoe this year. Baby steps!

Actually, that draft order list is wrong.

I forgot Columbus Crusaders (AL) (TURNERONU22) & Kauai Emeralds (wolvie109) (NL) for next season.

The expansion teams will pick 3rd and 4th and we'll flip a coin tomorrow night before the post-season to determine who gets the 3rd pick.

Wow, 113 wins... Crazy, I'm thinking that's a SLOP record? To think I still think I need to greatly improve my starting pitching... I can't imagine how many games I would have won if I had the starting pitching I had say four or five seasons ago.... Anyway, hopefully the team doesn't flame out in the playoffs!

Correct. The previous record was set last year by both Memphis and Brooklyn who both won 108 games. What's funnier is Carolina also owns the record for most losses in a season in the NL with 127, set in 1840 and matched by Brooklyn ten years later. They also owned the AL record (138) set two years earlier (1838) but Lake Tahoe took care of taking them out of the record books last year.

Starting with this year's Sunset Series, the GMs who win it will have the "right" akin to managers in MLB to pick the all-star team for their respective league next year. I realize not everyone will want to do this and that's fine if you defer, I'll let the AI do it. But I thought it might be a fun "honor" to bestow and so, starting this year's pennant winners, you'll have the option.

Will the winning team in the allstar game win home field advantage for their league?

Since no one is here, I'll just get this thing together and put it up. Then you can see who won in your leisure.

But at least now you know for future reference, the online real-time simulation is a possibility for the future.

So it's Winnemucca v. Chicago in the Sunset Series.

Chicago, Brooklyn and Carolina have own the NL since '43. It's been 13 years since a team outside of those three won the NL pennant. Winnemucca meanwhile, makes its 3rd Sunset Series appearance in franchise history, the last coming four years ago and eight years off their last title. The Choos are like the Olympics it seems.

Just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. It's been awhile since I've been in an online league (the original FOOL a couple of years ago), but I'm looking forward to getting back at it. Thanks for having me in the league!
