So what does Lesnar do now that the football thing didn't work out?

In case you were all curious, I guess the answer is beg McMahon for his old job back.

Can you summarize the story? I don't really feel like fighting through that site's 100 popup ads.

FORZESE FILES: BROCK WANTS BACK INTO WWE

By: Jim Forzese
7/1/2005 8:54:56 AM

Well the lawsuits have been issued and the apologies have been made so once all the smoke clears will Brock Lesnar be back in the WWE?If rumors are to be believed then Brock is desperately trying to get his professional career back in order and rejoin his former profession of professional wrestling. Regardless of a year or so passing Brock by he is such an exceptional athlete that he should be able to fend off any ring rust within a month or two. The big question will be is in how the fans and just as importantly the boys in the locker-room are going to accept Brock back into the business. My belief is that both will accept Brock back quickly because Brock is both entertaining for the fans and worth money to WWE.

Brock Lesnar is far from being like Goldberg who did not work hard to get what he received and then was never grateful for what the business afforded him; Brock put his all into making it big but just could not handle the pressure of what he received once he received it. I am by know means saying that what Brock did to the WWE was warranted and that he deserves any free pass but Brock is a real good wrestler and a strong character and should be allowed back so that, for no other reason, give someone that WWE can push on Smackdown other than JBL.WWE can ill afford for JBL to dominate Smackdown like HHH does Raw, Smackdown was at one point built around Brock. Yes Brock signed a no compete clause that should be enforced if he cannot return to WWE, he signed it with no hidden fine print so he should pay for his stupidity.

The big problem for Brock is that his spotlight has passed him by and Brock will need to seriously recommit himself to the company for him to get it back. It was quite obvious that WWE thought that third generation superstar Randy Orton was going to be the next Rock but that has not happened to date. When Brock Lesnar left the company Batista and JBL came forward to steal the entire spotlight Brock left behind and Batista got the push that Brock decided to walk away from. This past Monday on Raw it appears however that it is quite obvious that John Cena will be the wrestler to carry the torch for the WWE and hopefully knock on the door of Stone Cold and Rock in terms of money made. Brock may never reach the level that John Cena is about to reach but Brock should return to the main event rather quickly.

Unlike someone like Mike Awesome, who left ECW and the title belt to go to a competitor for more money, Brock walked away from huge money to pursue a career in a totally different field. Was it right for Brock to do that? That is a subjective question that would vary from person to person but if Brock wants to rejoin WWE because he has no other option then I say let him. If we are to believe Brock and that he grew up and can now handle the pressure, travel, and money, then he should be given a chance. Brock should be main eventing for WWE for a very long time to come and even though most fans, of the IWC that is, will reject him at first Brock will eventually win everyone over again. Brock will keep his popularity and a sustained main event push longer that Matt Hardy will keep his, if Matt returns.

Whether or not either Brock or Matt returns no one will do to the fans what Hulk Hogan can do to the fans. Raw on Monday showed just how popular he is and that he does it without much wrestling skill whatsoever is a testament to how great a character and how charismatic a man Hulk is. If Brock were to return he needs to commit himself to the fans like Hogan has done through all his years. Brock needs to understand that he may not be on top forever and he may not be champion all the time but it is what he does to entertain the fans throughout that will determine his longevity. One of the things that Brock left for was the fact that he was going to have to job soon to the Undertaker. Brock needs to understand that fan appeal is larger than title belts, something HHH cannot fathom to date.

Vince McMahon has not made the money he has by being a moron. Vince knows that he has Brock over a barrel. Once Vince was awarded the extension to gather documents that will prove that Brock was used as a talent for New Japan, Vince and Brock both know who is going to win this case. Vince should force Brock into coming back at a greatly reduced contract in terms of both money and years and try and make the money back that was left on the table after Brock’s departure. Yes the boys may rib Brock and give him a hard time but ultimately Brock will bring money to the company and that helps all talent fatten their pockets. Even if Brock has to start out in the US division and work is way up, let Brock help make the company money.

Vince must realize that children do not care about Brock leaving to try and play football and would welcome Brock back with open arms.WWE needs to capitalize on the fact that a current day football player is now once again under roster.WWE can try to get publicity on ESPN and Fox Sports that Brock decided to return to pro wrestling instead of other football options that were available to him. Vince always tries to get mainstream press so this would be a way to have that happen. Vince should be able to get Brock booked on Best Damned Sports Show Period where Brock can discuss his short football career and the decision to return to his true passion. That is solid press for WWE to garner. Brock returning to Vikings training camp as an invited guest wearing a WWE title would get great press in the Minnesota area and could get picked up across the country.

Bottom Line:

Obviously Brock wants back because he knows that from now until 2010 he will be unable to earn a living. Brock also knows that why spend the next four or five years learning a craft like football that he will be too old to play professionally once he develops the skills necessary to play at that level. As a fan of wrestling I say let Brock come back because it will help the business as a whole and that is always a good thing. Hindsight being twenty/twenty Brock may have regretted his signing that no complete clause but if we are to believe that Brock has matured and is ready for the business then he should be given a chance to prove it. I would rather pay Brock $250,000 for his return then pay a model that for doing nothing.

If the WWE were to get back both Brock and Matt Hardy then WWE could start to push Brock, Matt, Orton, Batista, Cena, RVD, ECW, Angle, HBK, and Edge so that the WWE finally have enough main event wrestlers to compensate for the loss of Austin,Rock, and Foley that WWE has not done quite yet and, hopefully the subsequent demotion of HHH.This way, as I said before, WWE can start to move HHH to a more behind the scenes role and let other talents take over the reigns of the WWE programs. Does it say anything to anyone else that for the last two weeks the wedding angle the diva search and Hogan outdrew everything else? Maybe just maybe WWE can understand it is time for new blood on top. Here is hoping that Brock returns so that HHH and JBL can have some time out of the spotlight for the good of the business. You have just read another chapter of The Forzese Files and as always feedback is greatly appreciated.

This is old news, and it's probable that he'll be in by WM.

Brock's a bitch. Paul Wight worked while he was fucking injured to help Lesnar get over. I hope they stick that bastard into a feud with Snitzki and Heidenreich, and then send them all to hell.
