I'll start us off. There was one outside of the mall on one of the first weekends I was here. There was one on the lawn outside of my place of work a few weeks ago. There's marsh everywhere here, and they're all over the place. So, ladies and gents, we present to you.....

The LOWCOUNTRY GATORS.

I've been on the fence for this for a while, but I decided that I would not be able to run teams in three leagues while being a full-time law student. Therefore, I have resigned from the World American Football League (WAFL) and plan to move my team here to the yet unnamed league.

Without further ado, I bring you the:

WILKES-BARRE COAL MINERS

(Rename Allentown, PA)

Rusholme Ruffians. Edited City, (North) Europe.

I don't really know which city would match Manchester's climate most. Basically it would have to be somewhere wet and with a mild climate all year round. Anywhere that isn't too hot in the early parts of the year will probably be too cold in the latter parts, what with you crazy Americans and you're "not having the benefit of the gulf stream" ways. Portland?

Yeah, my first thought was "somewhere in the Pacific Northwest."

Some part of me want to go the silly route with names such as Scandinavia Proud Socialists or the classic Vienna Wieners, but currently I'm leaning towards the name Lappland Fightin' Reindeers. I'll probably change my mind a couple of times, but this might stick. Definitely Northern Europe here.

I'm still second guessing here. If we end up with 7 teams in Europe (mine not included), I'd stick there too. If not, I'd like to throw my team in the Caribbean part of my homeland.

Didn't even notice you were from Scranton. I was born in Wilkes-Barre and went to King's College.

Are you originally from Scranton, or did you just wind up there?

If that's the case, I'll let you have Scranton on the condition that you and I are placed in the same division so we can have a healthy rivalry.

I hope Quiksand joins the league so that he can see that I'm finally using his suggested name for when I moved into the IHOF.

Hampton Roads Scholars - Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA (Haven't decided which city to actually be in, I think for FOF sake probably Norfolk).

Because it screws up, well, just about everything that uses the city abbreviation. (stats pages, game logs, transaction logs). Believe me as one of the Baltimore teams in HFL I know all about it. Deciphering game logs becomes a surreal experience.

What you can probably do is change the name of another city to the same and have a different abbreviation. But it won't "really" be the same city, just a city with the same name. Just like a European team won't "really" be in Europe.

I've decided to change the name of the team to the Wilkes-Barre Coal Miners. Just rename Allentown (which already exists) to Wilkes-Barre.

Tredwel, Scranton is now yours. And we shall have the NEPA Bowl twice a year!

Yeah, that was what I was aiming for. I understand that the way the game is designed, only 1 team can play with the associated in-game city. Heck, I realize the city name of the team has to be different too, for easy reference purpose, but that doesn't stop us from having the Scranton [nickname]s and the Real Scranton [nickname]s for a cross city rivalry.

Yep, that's why renaming Allentown to Wilkes-Barre for my team is a happy compromise. Allentown is only forty miles south of Wilkes-Barre and makes geographical sense.

Wilkes-Barre and Scranton are two cities that are usually linked when talking about them or their sport teams. The majority of professional teams in this area (ex: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers (AF2 team), Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons (AAA Affiliate of Yankees) just hypenate the two teams. But in actuality, they are seperate cities about fifteen miles apart.

Okay, I've got two depending on the league name:

If the league is International whatever:

Raleigh Renegades
Raleigh, NC

If the league is Patrician whatever:

Raleigh Recalcitrants
Raleigh, NC

I want to be the Toronto Raptors.

With real life CFL guidelines, you can have up to 25% of the teams in a league with the same nickname(see RoughRiders)

Boooooo. Where are the "crawdads" or whatever these people down here call them. I went to a party last christmas and one of the dudes made a low country boil (he went to The Citadel or something). Anyway, made a low country boil; he and his friends stood over the pot for about 40 minutes sucking down these crawfish like machines. It was the most confusing, yet fascinating thing I have witnessed.

My obvious place would be in Europe, where my team would probably be the Camargue (region where I live in southern France) somethings - the Camargue is populated by wild bulls and horses, pink flamengos (dare I use Cuervo's logo? ) and gardians (our own version of your cowboys), so my name would be one of these.

Having said that, if need be, I could be placed wherever a team is needed to fill out a division, I have ideas for team names in Quebec, Minnesota, Vancouver, Hawai,...

While I have something of a tradition of using Chesapeake as my team location, I'm tempted to go with Hawk Mountain Sharpshins in this league. Tentative for now... I may wuss out and go with the Chesapeake somethingoranothers after all.

(incidentally, Hawk Mountain is in Eastern PA, for city placement... but I don't care about where we are placed regionally if flexibility would help things out)

Which brings up a question... who is going to take a stab at logos? I wouldn't mind trying to help, I'm just no cuervo...
