I've got some sleeping to do at La Vie Boheme, but then I should be ready to head to El Dolado to start building something. I've got about $417 to contribute to the town treasury. I'm assuming I'll need an invite to be able to start constructing?

Can anyone edit the census website, or should we just post changes in here? I'm up to level 11 and WestStats has my construction LP at 117 with the proper items equipped.

I copped out and made two purchases so I didn't have to do odd jobs to level. So right now I am inching towards our city repairing fences along the way. If I can get that hammer or whatever it is for the Sheriff Quest, then I'll be level 10 and ready to move in.

As far as I know, you don't have to be level 10 to join a town, you just need an invitation. The level 10 requirement is only for founding a town, and it also seems to be a pretty common benchmark for other towns to set as their minimum requirement.

You may have already known that, just thought I'd throw it out there just in case (in case you didn't know it or in case I'm dead wrong & somebody should correct me).

Should I just be saving my skills/attributes for the time being until I decide on a class needed by the town?

Ha yeah I knew, I just figured I am close to level 10 as is, so I may as well do it now.

I've updated your data in the census. I'll try to find a way to have a comment section so people can post for stuff like that over there and it doesn't get lost in here.

As for your 117 LP, that'd be what West Stats shows straight up, right? If so, you're a worker and your in-game LP will be 5% higher. Please confirm if that was the straight West Stats number...

well, you could, but then you will probably run out of quest to do before very long as you won't be able to do the jobs that are needed for the quests...

66 + 5% = 69 entered in the census. You are a worker, your labor points will show up as 5% higher once you try to work on upgrading a building...

Alright - then what are the four classes? It sounds like workers are in high demand, but a lot of others are going after them.

After importing my skills and my inventory, the job calculator filtered on best clothing out of my inventory shows 117 LP for construction. I don't *think* that West Stats includes the 5% anywhere.

Construction 0% 0% 0% 0% 117 0 117 38 38 38 2 1

Workers are not in so high demand, we'll need 2, maybe three per town. We're focusing on them because their skills will have an impact on how fast we improve our towns, and also how much it'll cost to improve buildings.

Everybody else can pick what they want, as long as they donate to the towns regularly.

nope, it doesn't. I'm a worker in world 7, so I know. I've updated your census number to reflect the bonus. You're at 123 now.

Do I have to get a shopping invite to be able to sell stuff?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out how to get to town to sell stuff.

about workers, I'm thinking that no people with under 120 gross labor points in construction should work on upgrading buildings at the moment. Here's a table I just put together:
gross lp net lp building pts hours for 100 cost
150 135 33.75 2.96 355.6
140 125 31.25 3.20 384.0
130 115 28.75 3.48 417.4
120 105 26.25 3.81 457.1
110 95 23.75 4.21 505.3
100 85 21.25 4.71 564.7
90 75 18.75 5.33 640.0
80 65 16.25 6.15 738.5
70 55 13.75 7.27 872.7
60 45 11.25 8.89 1066.7

Gross labor point is what your labor point total is with construction*3+repairing+leadership

Net lp is gross minus 15, the difficulty to build a level one building

buillding pts is by how many points you might expect to improve a building. Rough estimate has been calculated to be (net lp)/4

hours for 100 would be how many hours you'd need to work to put together a level 1 shop (100 building points)

finally cost is hours times $120.

120 puts it at $100 more per building than what I or chinaski can do. That's not a law, you can do what you want, I'm just showing how much it'd cost to have someone with 60 gross labor points do the building improvements...

Also, just a friendly reminder: If you've been added as a resident to the town, please make your donation to the treasury quickly as possible, that way we can remove you to free up a spot for more invites.

Just headed to La Vie to grab some sleep after working my way across the quadrant as best I could, finally stopping with 3 energy left. Managed to get within striking distance of Level 11 that way although I did nearly lose a limb while tanning deer skin (took a 64 health point hit from my own knife).

ahh, good old times of tanning dear skins. I remember when that was one of my favorite/most rewarding job to do.

you get a little experience for every hour you work on a job, based of the number next to the little star. That return in experience is higher when your net labor points (sum of 5 skills minus difficulty of job) is higher.

That makes sense...I have been doing the tobacco and shining shoes thing, and I did it for 10 minutes and got nothing, then did one for 30 minutes and got 1, so I clearly just need to do it longer

Thanks guys - learning slowly but surely.

Starting to pump my AP in dexterity and Trapping as I will be going the Adventurer/Trapper route, seems a good way to make money for the town. Since Shooting also falls under Dex I will put some points in shooting as well, so I can defend myself.

Great Job by Chinaski and FM getting the town up and running so quickly.

Thanks much Hawk!

Try to do some jobs near the town and then use our hotel to rest up.

Sadly, I cannot send you an invite right at the moment, as I didnt realize I cannot remove a resident until they have been part of the town for X amount of time. The first person to be removed (to make room for donations) will be Neon_Chaos at 12:30 tomorrow. I have no idea what timezone that is or if its AM or PM lol, it doesn't say. Keep an eye out for the invite, will be there soon enough though.

Same to you 3ric.

Thanks!

that should be how it's done. Only two people with reserved spots should be workers/builders. I'll give up my spot once someone is better (or at least getting close) than me at building.

Not mine, FOFC's

I just figure it'll be more interesting once the initial building rush in completed in Troutville. Remember folks, it'll not only provide a second place to sleep on the other half on the quadrant but also a general store that should have a different selection of goods than the one in Troutville.

Jon, are you going to be online around 9:30 CST tonight? I'll be arriving at El Dolada around that time with nearly $400 in my pocket. Will that be enough to get a hotel going? If so, I'd request a town invite close to the time I arrive so I can't be dueled.
