FOFC-BBCF is looking for coaches

The FOFC-BBCF just completed their championship game, which was an incredible game that wasn't decided until the final play.

As we are heading into the offseason, now is the time to claim a team if you are interested in joining our great league prior to recruiting. We have a solid base of about 40 coaches, and are always looking to add quality coaches. A few of the coaches have active dynasties going over in the Dynasty forum.

The league homepage is http://www.fofc-bbcf.com
The direct link to the forums is http://www.fofc-bbcf.com/phpbb2

We're about a week and a half away from recruiting, I think.

We just finished the championship game, and are heading into the offseason. The game really can be broken down into two "seasons", one is the playing of the games, and the other is the recruiting section. The recruiting section is the "season" that is about to start.

It'd be a hard sell for me with Tennessee taken.

Now that you're ladder-proficient, didn't you get a big raise?

what is the export schedule like?

How complicated is it to export? OOTP has always been really easy to export with and I have always done better keeping up with their leagues. FBCB is a hair more difficult, but not too bad. FOF chased me off, because I felt like I had to take a lot of steps to export and it got to be too burdensome in the one, admittedly short, time I spent in an online FOF league.

We run three sims per week: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

The export method is most similar to FBCB. You do your tasks for the game week, then click on Export Coach file. To send in your file, I'm using the exact same mechanism that radii uses for the FBCB league.

3 exports a week

There's a button in-game "export file" or something, then you surf over to the league website, and click on another link, and it'll ask for your file location.

I think its pretty easy.

And then to get the file, is it just download and unzip?

I have been fooling around with the demo of BBCF over the weekend and I like what I see a lot. Mind you, I have very little clue as to what's going in a college football season as I don't follow it too much, but I found that the whole gaming experience was a lot of fun, very immersive, so much so that I'm seriously thinking about buying the game.

I have visited the FOFC-BBCFwebsite, read some on the forum and would be tempted join up with you guys, if you don't mind someone dragging to the ground a good college program near you.

You look like you have a good enough pace with the export schedule but I have a question regarding these. My last multiplayer experience was with FOF where you had to do everything in one sitting, then hit the "export" button. Is it also the same with BBCF? I mean, can you do some part of a week, save it, then come back later, load your game, finish your work, and then hit the "export" button to send the file to the commish?

From what I saw on your schedule of export, you're about to hit the recruiting season, so now wouldn't be too bad a time to take over a program, would it? Any recommendation, in the event that I do buy the game (maybe as soon as tonight )?

Hey FM,

We'd be glad to have you join! As for your question, I am almost 100% certain that you can make changes and save, then quit and come back and have the export reflect the initial changes. Maybe someone else can confirm this.

In regards to the scheduling, you are correct. We are on a moritorium on adding new coaches until after the championship game. We have 3 weeks left in the season, then 4 or 5 rounds of bowl games and playoffs. That means you still have a couple of weeks to make a decision before we start filling vacancies again.

I don't have any recommendations but, may I suggest New Mexico in the Mountain West? Here's a list of owners:

Mountain West
Air Force-Dodgerchick
BYU-Neon Chaos
Colorado State-galaril
New Mexico-OPEN
San Diego State-antmeister
UNLV-Pumpy Tudors
TCU - st.cronin *
Utah - Groundhog *
Wyoming - path12

It'd be awesome if you joined path12 and I in running our teams to the ground

Hello Frogman. Yes, with my experience thus far, you can save your changes and come back to it later if you wish. I have done that a number of times this season already. It is very convenient that way.

The other positive is that you can go down the checklist to make sure you have done each part. And if you do not feel like gameplanning, it has the nifty suggest button. However, you will want to control your depth chart because you will have players that don't perform to their scouted ability. I have a QB situation like that now.

And yes, join cartman's league and join New Mexico.

Please bring this back up when it's time to jump back in. I may want to rejoin the league.

If Clemson ever comes open I would LOVE to join.
Just can't see dedicating the time anywhere else.

In regards to the scheduling, you are correct. We are on a moritorium on adding new coaches until after the championship game. We have 3 weeks left in the season, then 4 or 5 rounds of bowl games and playoffs. That means you still have a couple of weeks to make a decision before we start filling vacancies again.

thanks for the info. How does that work to claim a team? I've seen the thread on your forum where you can post requesting a team but could I do that now and only take over in a few weeks when it's time or should I wait to request a team?

UNLV-Pumpy Tudors
TCU - st.cronin *
Utah - Groundhog *
Wyoming - path12

It'd be awesome if you joined path12 and I in running our teams to the ground

The other positive is that you can go down the checklist to make sure you have done each part. And if you do not feel like gameplanning, it has the nifty suggest button. However, you will want to control your depth chart because you will have players that don't perform to their scouted ability. I have a QB situation like that now.

And yes, join cartman's league and join New Mexico.

yeah, dang you two, now I'm torn. I'd seen your conference with many FOFCers I know I'd get along well with, but I'd already spotted a couple of big schools I wanted to really get my hand onto. Now DC got me printing out the New Mexico roster, looking at their commits and such things, devilish lady!

Stupid question, is there any way to look at past season standings?

Thanks for the info re: saving. The checklist is one of the nicest thing I've seen done in a sports sime in a loooong time. Without it, I'm sure I'd have tried the demo for maybe 15 minutes before uninstalling it and never touching it again. I seriously had no clue what implied a college football season and even thought I've not yet touched the recruiting part in the demo, I can already get a feek for what will happen...

And yeah, for now, I mostly do the depth chart and leave gameplanning to my coords since I was mostly getting a feel for the game in general. Might change if/when I have a game every two days and I can devote maybe a few minutes to my next opponent...

You can go ahead and state your preference for a team, so that when we start to fill open slots again after the championship game, you are at the front of the line.

The way the process works, if a conference is less than 50% human coached, you get the team straightaway. If more than 50%, the coaches in that conference get to make the call.

Actually DC is great for recruiting people to play the game, but is horrible at recruiting players within the game. Oh snap!

Hey, think of it this way: big expectations if you decide on a big school; go to a small school and the expectations are a lot lower. So if you suck, just blame the lack of scholarships and money
