Like online poker sites, and unlike sportsbook style betting, however much the collective or one individual wins (or loses) has no impact on their profit, since the number of winners is set for each contest, and we're all pulling from the same (mostly) static pool of prize money that is ~20% less than what we've collectively paid in (save the occasional promotional/free teasers). The betting sites are concerned with the amount of money bet, rather than anybody's hit rate.

The only problems the smaller sites seem to be having is the cost of marketing since this concept is fairly new and setting their guaranteed prized pools too high which lead to a lot of overlay many times. The vig is closer to 10 percent than 20 also. 100 will pay out 90 and the vig gets smaller with the larger money contests. I think eventually we will see yahoo or ESPN buy out one of the larger companies and make it mainstream.

Week one is definitely a crapshoot for the most part.. Which is why I felt good with winning money in 2 games. Coming out ahead was honestly not something I expected.

I looked up my Fanduel numbers last year. I started with 100 dollars, and I ended up plus $174 overall for the year. 274 in total winnings minus 100 initial deposit. My record in games was 17-72. I did a ton better in October and November once I got a better idea of which games to play for the best shot at cashing out.

This year I started with $50 on draftkings, but I might throw another $20-50 in on fanduel as well. Depends on when my boss decides to pay our bonus and how much he decides to make it. There was talk it would be double if we broke 100k in total room revenue in August and we did. Woo.

I have to say I prefer draftkings to fanduel at this point, but I am not sure if fanduel has changed any of their formats from last season. draft kings seems to have more flexibility and more options, as well as the flex position that fanduel doesn't have.

A nice start with results netting $144 and a $27 ticket win. Won $50 in the $100K guaranteed and took 20th place in the $10K guaranteed for $90.

Only contest I didn't win anything was the $2 buy-in $4K guaranteed MNF.

Those ones are tough since there is such a small player pool. Once you fall behind its impossible to catch up.

Yea, I noticed and won't be playing a Thursday night or Monday night game again. Glad I only dabbled with $2 as I didn't know what to expect.

Wow!! Nicely done sir!!

I've been making small plays so far, so I'm now up about $15 bucks plus won a $12 ticket that I haven't used yet. I was feeling pretty good about that until I saw your #2

On draftkings, the rosters don't lock until the player plays. For future reference.

Didn't have much luck with baseball this week losing low-money 50/50's and yesterday missing out on the money in CFB.

Hopefully, I can repeat last Sunday's NFL results today. Arian Foster and Julian Edelman are my key players this week showing up on multiple teams.

Not a great showing for me today. I have a shot at a few mini cashes, including one in the 1.25 mil on Fanduel. I am in about 7000th with 11500 spots paying so I have to fade 2 more games, not feeling great about my chances.

I need Zach Ertz to come strong tomorrow to keep me in the money in the Draft King's $1M.

So I lost about 1K spots in the Fandual million, sitting at 8120 with 11490 spots to pay. I am a little nervous as tonights game could be a shoot out.
Alive in a few smaller buy ins. If I get lucky I will break even for the week.

Terrible week for me. I might make the payout in one 50/50. I had Moreno in a few and J.Charles in one. My payout is still better than the Lottery.

Hmm, the more I look at things I do have a small chance to win this weeks qualifier for Fantasy Fued's big season ending NFL game ($3250 value) or at least beating Condia ha. Maybe Luck feeds Wayne/Allen/Nicks for TD's and I get lucky. I'm sitting in 19th place but nobody has the Luck/McCoy combo, so if I can get 50-60 from them combined I'll win most likely.

Good luck tonight for the people with players in tonights game. Should be a shootout.

I have Hilton scattered on 3 different sites. With Luck, Foles, McCoy, Maclin mixed on the others. I am sitting on the bubble right now on all 3 sites so should be in good shape to cash most of my D-Ups.

Sounds like FanDuel had some issues yesterday. Site froze 30 minutes before lock.

ahhh fantasy...

I don't have any guys gong tonight who really matter for my weekly leagues, at this point I can only get passed so in that regards I want a low scoring game.

In my season leagues in one I am down 16 but have Ertz, Hilton, and MAclin all going, but in another I am going against a guy who has Ertz and Luck.

Would love an Ertz TD right here to lock in two wins.

Now that Indy has he ball, Luck will likely bounce me from winning satellite.

Netted $60 in the $1M tourney (5618/32000). 6 points shy of $75 tier and 14 points shy of $100. Dalton and Harvin both gave me less than what I would have hoped. Same team also won me a $27 ticket (2nd week in a row).

Lost 4 other NFL games so sbout plus $20 for the NFL as I flat struck out on a number of players (looking at you Tom Brady!).

To follow up, ending up getting cash as I finished 19/100...pretty ridiculous (also had Colston getting a goose egg for good measure). Jimmy Graham and Gio were the big scorers for me.

Just got an email from Fantasy Feud that Washington state players are out. That was the last site, damn. Definitely irrationally disappointed about this.

Just emailed my state representative! Turns out this is the only thing I've ever cared about (politically speaking)...besides losing the Sonics.

They track IP addresses and there are also tax implications if I were to win enough. Not to mention it could get awkward if I actually qualified for a huge event in someone else's name. I've been thinking about it a lot though ha.

Damn you... damn you all....

Dove in, with some very small buy in amounts so far but have been hooked watching my scoreboard.

In 3 NFL contests for the weekend, 2 start tonight though I only have 2 players going in one of my teams. Also in an MLB one for tonight.

Here's hoping that this can at least become a break even or better hobby.

Hes fairly sharp and has a huge bankroll. I think as for the upper tier players however he is just average. Dinkpiece, Notorious, CSURams, BirdWings have always impressed me more.

Just a suggestion when starting out. When you are in them larger GPP type games, Look at the lineups of the winning times and also the lineups of some of the better players like Condia, DinkPiece, Birdwings, CSURams, and Notorious and ask yourself why did they pick that player/s. You will pick up on things you may have overlooked and missed. It can be a bit overwhelming at first with so many players to choose from but eventually you will be able to narrow down the pool substantially just by players outpricing themselves.

Sadly no but it was Ryan and Hester (who picked up good points for a 3rd WR that I had to fit in for the salary cap).

I am in the money for tonight's MLB.

Ryan plus Hester is a solid pairing as well. I nearly put Julio on all my teams this week but went with Harvin instead, expecting the Seahawks to have to throw more than usual. I may have made a huge mistake. That's ok though, second half of the season is when I usually make money. Teams have usually identified themselves by then.
