SG Benito Sheppard- Arizona has offered a scholarship and jumped to the top of the list, while USC is still in. UNLV, North Carolina, and Mississippi State are all in Benito's top 5 now. SG Bishop Palmer- Florida is the only offer for Bishop right now, but they are only #2 on his list. Tennessee is at the top but hasn't offered yet. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Alabama are also in the top 5. It's pretty evident that unless something changes, Bishop will be going to the SEC. C Patrick Hutt- Being a west coast guy, Patrick is looking at both UCLA and Stanford, who have both offered. Cal, USC, and San Diego State are also in the mix. SG Will Brown- Oklahoma really wants Will to stay at home, as they have offered. Also in the mix are Florida, Ole Miss, Houston, and USC, but none have offered. SG Braydon Gale- Braydon is getting heat from both N.C. State and Charlotte who have both offered. Also in the mix are Purdue, Tennessee, and Florida who have not offered. PG Aaron Ginsberg- Aaron has no offers yet, but Boston College is at the top. Also in the mix are Fairfield, St. John's, Hartford, and Siena. |

SG Benito Sheppard- Some new schools are in the mix now, while Arizona is still the only offer and holds the top spot, Oregon, Kansas State, and Marshall are now in the mix. Marshall? Really? SG Bishop Palmer- It looks to be between Tennessee and Florida for Bishop, as he has told all other schools thanks but no thanks. C Patrick Hutt- Cal and UCLA have offered now, and Purdue, Pittsburgh, and Duke are making a push. SG Will Brown- Will seems to want to stay at home as much as Oklahoma wants him to stay at home, as he has given Oklahoma an unofficial verbal commit. SG Braydon Gale- Charlotte has backed off, but N.C. State is still the top offer for Braydon. Kansas State, Marshall, and Oregon are interested as well. PG Aaron Ginsberg- Fairfield, Rutgers, and Lehigh are all interested and have offered. St. John's and Siena are the other 2 that are in Aaron's top 5, but they haven't offered. |

SG Benito Sheppard- Marshall has thrown an offer Benito's way, and he is actually entertaining it. All indications point to Benito signing with Arizona though. Nothing is official yet. Oregon and Kansas State haven't offered but are still interested. SG Bishop Palmer- Florida has dropped their offer after hearing that Tennessee had a substantial lead in the recruiting race, and Bishop has in fact given a verbal to Tennessee. C Patrick Hutt- Cal and Purdue are the current offers for Patrick, but Duke, Pitt, and North Carolina are still in the mix. None of those have offered yet. SG Will Brown- Nothing has changed for Will, he still seems to be locked in to Oklahoma. SG Braydon Gale- N.C. State is still the only offer for Braydon, but Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Kansas State are still in the mix. None have offered though. PG Aaron Ginsberg- It looks to be between Rutgers and Fairfield for Aaron. Both have offered, and nobody else is interested now. |

SG Benito Sheppard- Benito has made it official, signing with Arizona as he'll be a Wildcat next season. SG Bishop Palmer- It's still Tennessee for Bishop, but he has not signed yet. No other team is in the mix, so I'm not sure why he hasn't made it official. Perhaps he is waiting for some other school to recruit him? C Patrick Hutt- It's California for Patrick, as he'll join Benito in the Pac 12 next season. He made it official by signing the LOI. SG Will Brown- Oklahoma State made a late push to get Will, but his mind was already made up. He will be a Sooner next year, as he signed his LOI with Oklahoma. SG Braydon Gale- Braydon probably could have held out for better offers, but there really weren't any to be found. N.C. State was the only offer, and Braydon took it, signing his LOI. PG Aaron Ginsberg- Aaron will be taking his talents to the Big East, as he has signed with Rutgers. All I can say is good luck playing against the likes of Georgetown and Pitt. So 5 of our 6 recruits have signed, and I will let the 12 college players know where they stand as far as the depth chart. A couple of them may have the option to redshirt. I'll try to get that post in tomorrow as I'm going out of town for the weekend, so everybody will have time to make decisions. |

Now that most of our 6 recruits know where they'll be playing next season, it's time to look at the depth charts for our 12 remaining players. First we'll look at the ones that have already used their redshirt, and there are 6 of them.
PG Benton Gale (High Point)- Benton is still projected to be the starting PG. PF Bam Jamison (Grambling)- Unfortunately, Bam still isn't projected as a starter. He's 7th on the depth chart, so he should get his share of minutes. SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- Qwikshot is projected to be the starting SF. PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State)- Mike will see his share of minutes for sure, he's 6th on the depth chart and listed as a PG/SG, so he should see plenty of PT. PF Path Twelve (Oregon)- Path is again projected to shift down and be the starting C. PF Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- Erik is listed 8th on the depth chart, so there's a chance he'll see good minutes. He should definitely see a lot more minutes than last season. Now for the 6 players who still have their redshirt available. C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown)- Ariel is projected to be the starting C this season. I see no reason to redshirt him, but it's not up to me, it's up to DavidCorperial. SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall)- Thomas is projected as the starting SF this season. He won't transfer if redshirted but I see no reason for him to redshirt. As StLee has not been on the boards in over 8 months (hope he's alright), I'll make the decision to play him. SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke)- Cameron is projected as the starting PG for Coach K. He will transfer if he's redshirted, but it's totally up to Grover. PG Jackson Pace (Purdue)- Jackson is listed as the starting SG and since the game has already redshirted so many players for Purdue, Jackson isn't eligible to be redshirted this season as that would leave Purdue with less than 10 eligible players. So Jackson is playing. Sorry cmp, the game took the decision out of our hands. PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown)- Jawouk is projected to be the starting PF this season. He wouldn't transfer if he were redshirted, but not sure there is a reason to. What do you say britrock88? C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State)- Tim is still projected to be the starting PF. He won't transfer if redshirted. What do you say rjolley? |

What does the rest of the team look like for Tim? Would it be worth it for him to sit?

Figured Jawouk might start after getting rotation minutes for two years. Let's see how he does!

Just got on to check as I'm back home now. Tim is 1 of only 2 post players that are worth a damn at Mississippi State. All the others are red or yellow. The bulk of the talent is on the perimeter, with several blue/blue or green/green players at SF, SG, and PG. Of the other post players, 1 is a walk-on that is red/red, there's also a senior that is a yellow that hasn't lived up to his green potential, as well as a couple underclassmen of which one is red/orange and the other is yellow/blue, so you can see Coach Mack doesn't have a lot to work with right now in the post. If that helps you make a decision at all, great. If you need more info on what the colors mean, I'll see if I can pull it up. |

Since Grover hasn't been on the boards in quite a few months, I'm making the decision to go ahead and play Cameron. I was thinking of deleting those players whose user names haven't been on the forums for a while, but I'm kind of interested to see how it goes. Same with the Coaches Dynasty. What do you guys think, should I just keep everybody in it, even if a user hasn't been on the forums in months, such as the case with StLee and Grover? Or should I get rid of their players/coaches after a certain amount of time?

If you want to keep them in I'm fine with it, but no need to hold up the rest of the dynasty if we're waiting on feedback on those players.

I agree with the others. I think it's only fair to give them a set time period to reply, and then move on if no reply comes. I would expect that to happen to my player if I didn't reply on time.

No redshirts of our 12 players this season, so let's take a look at the season tournaments our players will be playing in:
Kansas State (Mike Schaplowsky) is the top seed in the 2021 Island Invitational. Oregon (Path Twelve) is the 4th seed in the 2021 Las Vegas Challenge. Pittsburgh (Qwikshot Collins) is the top seed in the 4 team 2021 Legends Invitational. Purdue (Jackson Pace) is the 3rd seed in the 4 team 2021 Legends Invitational. Mississippi State (Tim Sheppard) is the 3rd seed in the 2021 Paradise Shootout. North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) is the 3rd seed in the 16 team 2021 Preseason NIT. Georgetown (Ariel Ginsberg and Jawouk Bafou) is the 2nd seed in the 2021 San Juan Classic. Duke (Cameron Blodgett) is the top seed in the 4 team 2021 Travelers Invitational. Marshall (Thomas Magnum) is the 3rd seed in the 4 team 2021 Youth Invitational. High Point (Benton Gale) and Grambling (Bam Jamison) were not invited to a season tournament. |

Nov. 7-14, 2021
Only 10 games on the schedule for our FOFC teams this week. Several teams didn't play, so to make things shorter for the first couple weeks, I'll only highlight the teams that didn't play. If you don't see your team, it just means they didn't have a game this week. Also, we did have 1 feature game this week. 11/14/21- Legends Invitational 3rd Place Game- (3) Purdue (Jackson Pace) vs. (1) #1 Pittsburgh- Qwikshot Collins -- Both teams looked to recover after a loss in their opening game, but the difference in this one was free throw shooting. Pitt was 21-26 while Purdue was 10-12. That was enough for Pitt to save some face after an opening round upset. Final Score: #1 Pittsburgh- 98, Purdue- 90 Jackson Pace (Purdue)- started game, 34 mins played, 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- started game, 36 mins played, 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 1-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/14/21 vs. VCU (W 61-53), started game, 17 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. Ariel battled foul trouble all game so we've still yet to see his best. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 0-1, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/14/21- Youth Invitational First Round vs. (2) #5 Wisconsin (L 71-63), started game, 33 mins played, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists. Not the greatest game in the world for Thomas, but he did battle foul trouble. Shooting wasn't so good as he was just 3-11. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/13/21- Legends Invitational First Round vs. (4) Bowling Green (L 83-73), started game, 33 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. 11/14/21- Legends Invitational 3rd Place Game vs. (3) Purdue- feature game, highlighted above. Decent first couple of games for Qwikshot, who has taken over a starting role. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 1-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/8/21- Travelers Invitational vs. (4) Rutgers (L 76-69), started game, 37 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists. 11/10-21- Travelers Invitational 3rd Place Game vs. (2) Northern Iowa (W 79-71), started game, 37 mins played, 20 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). Good start to the season for Cameron who is averaging 7.5 assists per game early on. Exactly what Coach K needs from him. Now if he could just get some production from the rest of the team. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 0-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/13/21- Legends Invitational First Round vs. (2) #15 Wake Forest (L 91-67), started game, 33 mins played, 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block. 11/14/21- Legends Invitational 3rd Place Game vs. (1) #1 Pittsburgh- feature game, highlighted above. Jackson certainly did his part for his team, and to be fair, having to play a couple of top 15 teams right off the bat isn't exactly what they expected. Still, Jackson handled it well. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 1-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/14/21 vs. VCU (W 61-53), started game, 29 mins played, 16 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal, (Double-double), (POTG). What a season debut for Jawouk as he finally cracks the starting rotation and rewards his coach for the decision. JR C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State) -- 1-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/14/21- Paradise Shootout vs. (6) Michigan (W 82-69), started game, 24 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Tim had some very good stats for only playing 24 minutes. The reason.. exactly what we were afraid of, foul trouble. He had 4 fouls. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#7 North Carolina) -- 2-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/11/21- Preseason NIT First Round vs. (14) Air Force (W 81-68), came off bench, 3 mins played, 1 assist. 11/13/21- Preseason NIT Quarterfinals vs. (6) Indiana (W 67-42), came off bench, 4 mins played, 2 rebounds. So Erik is going to struggle to get minutes this season, but he's being a great team player. When he gets in the game, he contributes somehow. Code:

Nov. 15-21, 2021
No feature games this week, so to the weekly recap we go: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big South. 11/18/21 at Virginia Tech (W 71-61), started game, 29 mins played, 18 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, (POTG). 11/20/21 at Campbell (L 65-58), started game, 36 mins played, 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists. Nice week for Benton, especially with the rebounds. Point guards aren't supposed to get that many rebounds normally, but he's turning into a solid offensive rebounder especially. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 1-2, 0-0 SWAC. 11/15/21 vs. Southeastern Louisiana (L 75-66), came off bench, 12 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals. 11/19/21 at Centenary (L 74-68), came off bench, 10 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. 11/21/21 at Arkansas (W 65-54), came off bench, 10 mins played, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Bam isn't getting a lot of minutes still, but he's playing a key role, especially on the defensive end. I think the 3 games in a row without having more than 3 fouls is a personal record for him. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 2-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/19/21 at Maryland-East Shore (L 86-69), started game, 26 mins played, 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal. 11/21/21 vs. Tennessee State (W 85-75), started game, 19 mins played, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Not the best game in the world against Tennessee State, as Ariel battled foul trouble. He'll need to get that corrected if he wants to continue his starting role. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 1-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/16/21- Youth Invitational 3rd Place Game vs. (1) Oklahoma State (W 92-91, OT), started game, 40 mins played, 42 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals, (POTG). 11/21/21 vs. Virginia Tech (L 69-51), started game, 35 mins played, 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. What a game against Okie State for Thomas. That 42 points is a new career high. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#18 Pittsburgh) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big East. No games this week for Qwikshot and the Panthers. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big 12. 11/19/21- Island Invitational First Round vs. (8) Kennesaw State (L 84-65), came off bench, 21 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 11/21/21- Island Invitational Consolation Round vs. (4) Drake (W 82-55), came off bench, 16 mins played, 8 points, 1 block, 1 steal. Mike didn't play a major role in either game, but hey, he did have a block against Drake, so that counts for something. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 2-0, 0-0 Pac 10. 11/15/21- Las Vegas Challenge First Round vs. (5) Penn State (W 72-39), started game, 33 mins played, 31 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, (POTG). 11/17/21- Las Vegas Challenge Semifinal vs. (8) Stony Brook (W 85-59), started game, 18 mins played, 11 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Path battled foul trouble against Stony Brook, but the 31 points against Penn State is a new career high. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 1-2, 0-0 ACC. 11/18/21 vs. Belmont (L 70-68), started game, 37 mins played, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists. Cameron did alright in the only game of the week. Coach K seems to be relying on his starters, as 4 bench players logged just 25 mins of action and no starter played less than 33 minutes. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 0-2, 0-0 Big Ten. No games this week for Jackson or the Boilermakers. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 2-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/19/21 at Maryland-East Shore (L 86-69), started game, 28 mins played, 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 11/21/21 vs. Tennessee State (W 85-75), started game, 29 mins played, 11 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals. Jawouk had solid numbers this week, almost getting a double double at UMES, but fell a point and a rebound short. JR C Tim Sheppard (#21 Mississippi State) -- 4-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/16/21- Paradise Shootout Semifinal vs. (2) #17 West Virginia (W 65-62), started game, 33 mins played, 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). 11/18/21- Paradise Shootout Championship vs. (1) #19 Maryland (W 74-59), started game, 30 mins played, 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. 11/21/21 vs. Middle Tennessee (W 80-69), started game, 29 mins played, 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). Great week for Tim who had 2 double-doubles in 3 games. Surprisingly, he didn't get POTG in either of those games. Crazy. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#4 North Carolina) -- 3-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/20/21- Preseason NIT Semifinal vs. (7) Missouri State (W 69-53), came off bench, 4 mins played, 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. The story is the same for Erik, he'll contribute, he just needs minutes. Code:
How about Pitt moving up 6 spots this week and not even playing a game? And how bad is Duke struggling? Not even a single vote. Code:

1 feature game for you this week, and let's get to it. 11/25/21- High Point (Benton Gale) @ Marshall (Thomas Magnum) -- The Thundering Herd blew a 9 point halftime lead as they went ice cold in the second half and shot just 37.3% for the game. The result may surprise some people, but High Point seems to be an improved team. Final Score: High Point- 82, Marshall- 67 Benton Gale (High Point) - started game, 35 mins played, 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, (POTG). Thomas Magnum (Marshall)- started game, 22 mins played, 20 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Now for the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 2-1, 0-0 Big South. 11/25/21 at Marshall- feature game, highlighted above. Only 1 game this week for Benton and the Panthers, but it was a memorable one as Benton got POTG in a High Point win. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 1-2, 0-0 SWAC. No games this week for Bam or the Tigers. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 2-2, 0-0 Big East. 11/25/21 at #8 Xavier (L 97-81), started game, 20 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. Ariel struggled with foul trouble in their only game of the week, as he had 4 and never really got going. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 2-3, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/23/21 at Davidson (W 71-70), started game, 33 mins played, 24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 3 steals, (POTG). 11/25/21 vs. High Point- feature game, highlighted above. Not a bad week for Thomas who had a POTG, and really played well against High Point but couldn't get any help. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#12 Pittsburgh) -- 2-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/26/21 vs. Drexel (W 78-70), started game, 28 mins played, 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, (POTG). Good game for Qwikshot even if he did have 4 fouls. He helped his team to a win and got the POTG. Well done. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 3-1, 0-0 Big 12. 11/23/21- Island Invitational 5th Place Game vs. (6) St. Bonaventure (W 87-82), came off bench, 18 mins played, 9 points, 3 assists, 3 steals, (Fouled Out). 11/28/21 vs. UMKC (W 87-77), came off bench, 12 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Foul trouble really hurt Mike this week as he had 8 total in the 2 games. It's a shame too, because he was putting up some really good stats aainst the Bonnies. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 4-0, 0-0 Pac 10. 11/22/21- Las Vegas Challenge Championship vs. (2) #18 Butler (W 65-63), started game, 30 mins played, 10 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, (Double-double). 11/28/21 at Citadel (W 76-64), started game, 32 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. The Ducks are really making some noise this season, and Path is holding his own. While his stats aren't earth shattering, he's consistent as he picked up a double-double against Butler and they needed all of it. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 2-2, 0-0 ACC. 11/28/21 vs. UNC Greensboro (W 74-42), started game, 34 mins played, 13 points, 1 rebound, 6 assists, 1 steal. Not great stats for Cameron as he's not scoring like Coach K would have hoped, but he's still getting his assists in and taking care of the ball. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 0-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/24/21 vs. North Carolina Central (L 91-80), started game, 34 mins played, 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Decent stats for Jackson, but what a horrible shooting game. 5-18. That won't get it done. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 2-2, 0-0 Big East. 11/25/21 at #8 Xavier (L 97-81), started game, 12 mins played, 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. Everything I said about Ariel applies for Jawouk too. He also had 4 fouls and played even less minutes. JR C Tim Sheppard (#7 Mississippi State) -- 4-0, 0-0 SEC. No games this week for Tim and the Bulldogs. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#2 North Carolina) -- 4-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/22/21- Preseason NIT Championship vs. (12) Austin Peay (W 75-55), came off bench, 4 mins played, 1 point. Ok, so Erik didn't do much this week, he's probably getting tired of playing mop-up duty and not putting forth his best effort. That won't fly with Coach Williams. He'll need to pick it up. Code:

Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2021
No feature games this week, so let's get to the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 2-4, 0-0 Big South. 11/30/21 at Cincinnati (L 68-58), started game, 23 mins played, 5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/2/21 at College of Charleston (L 67-59), started game, 35 mins played, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/5/21 vs. Canisius (L 69-66), started game, 36 mins played, 12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. Benton was consistent on one thing this week: fouls. He had 4 fouls in each of the 3 games, and never really got going. We definitely didn't see his best, he has to stay out of foul trouble. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 3-2, 0-0 SWAC. 12/1/21 at Miami-Ohio (W 93-85), came off bench, 12 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal. 12/3/21 at UL-Lafayette (W 67-64), came off bench, 17 mins played, 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. Bam saw more playing time against UL Lafayette, and he's just not getting those blocks like he has in the past. His aggressiveness is much less than it has been, but the up side is that he's staying out of foul trouble. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 3-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/3/21 at #20 Maryland (W 87-80), started game, 18 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block. Foul trouble again for Ariel, which limited his minutes. Still, he had decent numbers in his limited minutes. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 2-5, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/1/21 vs. Liberty (L 83-73), started game, 36 mins played, 22 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist. 12/3/21 vs. Ohio (L 70-46), started game, 35 mins played, 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. Thomas is easily Marshall's best player, but he can't do it all himself as the rest of the team is struggling mightily. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#10 Pittsburgh) -- 4-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/29/21 at #17 Temple (W 95-90, OT), started game, 37 mins played, 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 12/1/21 vs. George Mason (W 79-57), started game, 34 mins played, 15 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, (Double-double). Nice week for Qwikshot who posted a double-double, but no POTG. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 4-1, 0-0 Big 12. 12/2/21 vs. Wichita State (W 74-71), came off bench, 15 mins played, 4 points. Not much happening for Mike in the Wildcats' lone gome this week. He got good minutes and hit both of his shots, just didn't touch the ball much otherwise. RS JR PF Path Twelve (#18 Oregon) -- 5-0, 0-0 Pac 10. 11/30/21 vs. N.C. State (W 80-54), started game, 35 mins played, 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Ok week for Path, as he hit over half of his shots, but would like to see more rebounds out of him. He did have 3 assists though, not bad for a post player. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 4-2, 0-0 ACC. 11/30/21 at Mt. St. Mary's (W 91-59), started game, 34 mins played, 21 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists. 12/2/21 at Coastal Carolina (W 57-44), started game, 36 mins played, 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). Another solid week for Cameron, including a POTG. He isn't turning the ball over much at all which is exactly what you want from a PG. Currently he has a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio. Not too shabby. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 3-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/29/21 at Southeast Missouri State (W 100-84), started game, 31 mins played, 14 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals. 12/3/21 at #3 Dayton (W 107-93), started game, 33 mins played, 30 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists, (Double-double), (POTG). 12/5/21 at Samford (W 73-52), started game, 30 mins played, 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Great week for Jackson who had a POTG and was 3 rebounds short of a double-double. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 3-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/3/21 at #20 Maryland (W 87-80), 14 points, 5 rebounds. Jawouk also battled foul trouble this week, in fact all 5 starters in the Hoyas' game this week had 4 fouls. But Jawouk still posted good numbers. JR C Tim Sheppard (#9 Mississippi State) -- 6-0, 0-0 SEC. 12/1/21 vs. Tennessee State (W 67-38), started game, 22 mins played, 7 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/4/21 vs. Murray State (W 67-53), started game, 18 mins played, 4 points, 8 rebounds. Foul trouble was an issue again this week for Tim, and his shooting hasn't been good either. He was just 4-17 shooting. For a post player, that's just unacceptable. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#1 North Carolina) -- 7-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/29/21 vs. Davidson (W 114-80), came off bench, 5 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 12/2/21 vs. Bowling Green (W 106-97), came off bench, 11 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/5/21 at UNC Wilmington (W 82-66), came off bench, 9 mins played, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Inconsistency for Erik, who knows he probably won't get more than 10 mins a game very often. Most of the time he takes advantage of his few minutes, but a lot of times he doesn't. Against UNC Wilmington, he didn't. Code:

As the month of November comes to an end, we check on our lone recruit that has not signed yet, Bishop Palmer.
And we see that Bishop has finally put the pen to paper and will be playing for Tennessee next season! It really was his top choice for a long time, and he finally made it official. So now all of our recruits have signed. |

Pro Update for October and November 2021
2nd year PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons currently stand at 4-12, 4th in the Central Division and next to last in the Eastern Conference. Jace fought through a sprained knee early in December and is putting up solid numbers, averaging 21.2 PPG and 6.4 RPG. His best game of the month was a 42 points, 11 rebound effort in a loss to Atlanta on Nov. 27th. If he could get some help, the Pistons would be rolling. 2nd year PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers/Los Angeles D-Fenders) The Trailblazers currently stand at 6-9, tied for 4th in the Northwest Division and tied for 12th in the Western Conference. Ivan played one game for the Blazers before being sent back down to the D-Fenders in the D-League. With the D-Fenders he is average 23 PPG and 6.7 RPG, but for some reason, he didn't play from Nov. 6 through Nov. 25. Doesn't say he was injured, but something must be going on because his last game on the 26th, he saw 1 minute of action, and the game before that on the 25th, he saw 30 minutes of action and scored 30 points. Interesting. Rookie SF Chester Smith (Sioux Falls Skyforce) Chester didn't stay in free agency for long. On October 24th, Sioux Falls signed him to a D-League contract. The Skyforce are currently 1-7, last place in the Central Division. Chester has played in 8 games and started 5 of them. He's averaging 14.3 PPG and 4.9 RPG. His best effort so far was the last game, against Texas on November 29th, where he had a double-double with 23 points, 10 boards. I know Chester wants to be an NBA player, but right now he has to be happy just playing anywhere. Rookie PG Al Mighty (Utah Jazz) The Jazz are currently 8-7, tied for first in the Northwest Division and 6th in the Western Conference. Al isn't seeing a lot of action yet, as he's played in 15 games with no starts. He's averaging 11.3 minutes per game with 7.1 PPG and 1.4 RPG. He's had 2 games where he scored double figures: Nov. 7th against Minnesota he had 18, and November 17th against Sacramento, he had 23. Rookie SG Ricardo Tubbs Nothing to report for Ricardo, who is still trying to land a contract of any kind, NBA, D-League, he doesn't care, he just wants to play. Rookie C Rudy Arellano (Maine Red Claws) The Red Claws currently sit at 7-3, good for 1st place in the Eastern Division. Rudy has seen action in 10 games, starting 6 of them. He's averaging 7.4 PPG and 5.9 RPG. He had back to back double-doubles on October 28th and November 2nd, and set a career high with 14 points against Texas on November 16th. Rookie SF Jack Dawkins (Houston Rockets) The Rockets are currently 5-7, good for 3rd place in the Midwest Division. Jack has played in 12 games, with no starts yet. He's averaging 10.3 PPG and 4.6 RPG. He's only had 3 games where he didn't score at least 10 points, with his high being 19 points on November 24th against Washington. He had a career high 12 rebounds against the Los Angeles Clippers on November 14th. Rookie C Ralph King (Indiana Pacers) The Pacers are currently 3-11, last place in the Central Division and the Eastern Conference. Ralph may be wishing he would have stayed at Duke for one more season. While he has appeared in 14 games, he's averaging just 12.1 minutes a game, with 5.2 points and 2 rebounds a game. If there's one bright spot for Ralph, it's that he is currently shooting 91.3% from the free throw line. Not bad at all for a center. He has had 2 double figure scoring games, 14 points against Cleveland on November 19th and 10 points against Orlando on November 25th. Rookie SG Jaybard Riley (Dallas Mavericks) The Mavericks are currently 6-9, good for 4th place in the Midwest Division. Jaybard has started all 15 games for Dallas, and he's averaging an even 16 PPG as well as 4.9 RPG and 4.9 APG. Good numbers, yet he hasn't even sniffed an award yet. Not quite up to par with his college stats, but he'll get there before too long. He's had 4 games where he scored 20 points or more, and he's only scored less than 10 points twice. His high so far is a 28 point effort against Chicago on November 9th. The last game on November 30th against Cleveland has been his best overall game, as he had 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists. |

Sorry for the lack of updates over the past week, I've been battling the flu for the past few days and just now feeling good enough to do anything, so here we go:
Dec. 6-12, 2021 No feature games this week, so let's get to the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 3-4, 0-0 Big South. 12/10/21 vs. Winthrop (W 74-62), started game, 29 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. Not the greatest game in the world for Benton, but he did ok. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 4-2, 0-0 SWAC. 12/7/21 at UL Monroe (W 60-57), came off bench, 12 mins played, 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. The thing that is most impressive about Bam this season is that he has learned how to play without fouling. To cut down on his aggressiveness means less blocks, but he'll take it. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 5-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/6/21 vs. Southern Illinois (W 99-72), started game, 25 mins played, 18 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, (Double-double). 12/8/21 at #4 Wake Forest (W 97-85), started game, 27 mins played, 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 steals. Definitely a tale of 2 games for Ariel, as he had a monster double-double against SIU, but couldn't repeat the feat at Wake. Still a good week though. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 3-6, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/8/21 at St. Louis (W 83-75, OT), started game, 29 mins played, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. 12/10/21 at Oakland (L 83-57), started game, 35 mins played, 14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, (Fouled Out). It was a game to forget for not only Thomas, but the Thundering Herd as a team, who didn't show up at Oakland. Thomas had nice numbers at the Lou though. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#6 Pittsburgh) -- 7-1, 0-0 Big East. 12/8/21 vs. Fairfield (W 82-58), started game, 20 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/10/21 at Creighton (W 92-63), started game, 30 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, (POTG). 12/12/21 at USC Upstate (W 84-51), started game, 33 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Decent week for Qwikshot, but he's still having issues with fouls. In 3 games this week, he had 11 fouls. That needs to improve. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 4-2, 0-0 Big 12. 12/9/21 at Iowa (L 94-78), came off bench, 18 mins played, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. 1 game this week for Mike and the Wildcats, but it was a nice breakout game off the bench. The 12 points at Iowa is a season high. RS JR PF Path Twelve (#18 Oregon) -- 7-1, 0-0 Pac 10. 12/6/21 at San Francisco (W 74-65), started game, 28 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds. 12/9/21 at Villanova (L 84-58), started game, 24 mins played, 7 points, 2 assists. 12/11/21 vs. Northern Illinois (W 85-77), started game, 21 mins played, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks. Path also struggled with foul trouble this week, as he had 4 each game and saw limited minutes, decreased minutes each game. That definitely needs to improve, and fast! JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 6-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/6/21 vs. Davidson (W 96-68), started game, 25 mins played, 26 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, (POTG). 12/10/21 vs. #7 California (W 89-63), started game, 34 mins played, 21 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). Not a bad week for Cameron at all. He just picked up 2 POTG awards in 2 games. No big deal. He has been a huge help for the Blue Devils this season. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 4-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/7/21 vs. Ball State (W 80-50), started game, 26 mins played, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. Just the 1 game for Jackson and the Boilermakers this week. Jackson had 4 fouls. Foul trouble is a recurring theme for a lot of our FOFC players this week, but they rarely foul out which is good. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 5-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/6/21 vs. Southern Illinois (W 99-72), came off bench, 12 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 12/8/21 at #4 Wake Forest (W 97-85), came off bench, 10 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. Great week off the bench for Jawouk, who lost his starting position this week. With weeks like this, it won't be long until he has it back. JR C Tim Sheppard (#8 Mississippi State) -- 7-1, 0-0 SEC. 12/8/21 at Arkansas Little Rock (L 77-66), started game, 29 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/10/21 vs. Southeast Missouri State (W 83-56), started game, 8 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Good week for Tim, as he didn't put up great numbers, but he was solid and consistent. Would like to see better shooting out of him though. 41.6% for a post player really isn't all that great. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#2 North Carolina) -- 7-0, 0-0 ACC. No games this week for Erik and the Tarheels. Code:

No feature games this week, so let's jump into the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 3-6, 0-0 Big South. 12/13/21 vs. UNC Greensboro (L 84-76), started game, 30 mins played, 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 12/15/21 at Morgan State (L 83-76), started game, 33 mins played, 17 points, 2 rebounds. Good scoring week for Benton, but he didn't do much else. Would really like to see more assists coming from him. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 4-3, 0-0 SWAC. 12/18/21 at LSU (L 73-69), came off bench, 12 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals. Nice game for Bam off the bench in their only game of the week. Good scoring, good defense, and the Tigers almost pulled the upset. Well done. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 6-3, 0-0 Big East. 12/14/21 vs. Virginia (L 82-77, OT), started game, 30 mins played, 8 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/18/21 vs. UMBC (W 69-50), started game, 26 mins played, 20 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, (Double-Double), (POTG). Another monster week for Ariel who had a double-double and POTG against UMBC. That's 3 out of the last 4 games he has had at least 10 rebounds. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 4-6, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/15/21 vs. Western Carolina (W 74-69), started game, 32 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists. OK game for Thomas, but not great. He's probably rebounding the ball a little bit more than expected, but the scoring is down some. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#2 Pittsburgh) -- 7-1, 0-0 Big East. No games this week for Qwikshot and the Panthers. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 5-3, 0-0 Big 12. 12/13/21 at DePaul (W 84-69), came off bench, 17 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/15/21 vs. Illinois State (L 76-58), came off bench, 23 mins played, 13 points, 13 rebounds, (Double-double). Mike absolutely went off against Illinois State, tying his career high in points and easily setting a career high in rebounds. He was a force that wouldn't be stopped. More outputs like that might see him get a start or 2 before the season is over. RS JR PF Path Twelve (#22 Oregon) -- 9-2, 0-0 Pac 10. 12/13/21 vs. Portland State (L 92-84), started game, 35 mins played, 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). 12/17/21 at UConn (W 86-81), started game, 36 mins played, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, (POTG). 12/19/21 at UC Davis (W 69-59), started game, 28 mins played, 16 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Although Path battled foul trouble again this week, he really played well, getting a POTG. Would like to see more rebounds from him though. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 8-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/14/21 vs. BYU (W 86-61), started game, 27 mins played, 21 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/17/21 vs. College of Charleston (W 73-48), started game, 34 mins played, 18 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). Good week for Cameron, who got a POTG award. A little bit of foul trouble, and a few too many turnovers, but still a solid week. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 5-5, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/14/21 at Texas (L 89-82), started game, 32 mins played, 20 points, 5 assists. 12/17/21 at Villanova (W 73-65), started game, 34 mins played, 27 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 12/19/21 at Cincinnati (L 94-58), started game, 29 mins played, 19 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Good week for Jackson, who averaged over 20 points a game. Might want to get some more assists out of him, but he is definitely leading the team scoring wise. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 6-3, 0-0 Big East. 12/14/21 vs. Virginia (L 82-77, OT), came off bench, 15 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 12/18/21 vs. UMBC (W 69-50), came off bench, 14 mins played, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks, 1 steal. Another nice week off the bench for Jawouk, not sure why he isn't starting, but he's still producing well. JR C Tim Sheppard (#12 Mississippi State) -- 9-1, 0-0 SEC. 12/14/21 at Jackson State (W 81-75), started game, 22 mins played, 3 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). 12/16/21 at Alabama A&M (W 72-59), started game, 33 mins played, 21 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, (double-double), (POTG). Tim had a game to forget at Jackson State, fouling out and not doing much. He got it together against Alabama A&M though with a nice double-double and POTG. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#3 North Carolina) -- 9-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/13/21 vs. Delaware State (L 73-54), came off bench, 5 mins played, 1 rebound. 12/15/21 vs. IUPUI (W 71-56), DNP (Coaches Decision). 12/19/21 vs. College of Charleston (W 86-55), came off bench, 4 mins played, 3 points. Weird week for Erik, who got into it with Coach Williams before the IUPUI game and found himself suspended (this didn't really happen, but every now and then I like to roleplay a little bit and add some drama to the reports), and he played sparingly the other 2 games this week. He has to be getting frustrated with his PT, or lack thereof. Code:

Dec. 20-26, 2021
No feature games this week, so let's get to the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 5-6, 2-0 Big South. 12/23/21 vs. USC Upstate (W 58-38), started game, 34 mins played, 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 12/25/21 vs. Presbyterian (W 88-39), started game, 29 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds. So Benton got POTG against USC Upstate, but we'll be honest here, his stats weren't so mind boggling this week. 3 assists in 2 games? For a PG, that is very lousy. But hey, the 8 rebounds against Upstate isn't bad. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 5-4, 0-0 SWAC. 12/22/21 at Southern Miss (L 88-57), came off bench, 13 mins played, 3 points. 12/24/21 at McNeese State (W 84-80), came off bench, 17 mins played, 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. OK week off the bench for Bam. He got a lot more involved at McNeese State than he did at Southern Miss, but man, 3-10 from the line against McNeese State? That's bad. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 7-5, 0-0 Big East. 12/24/21- San Juan Classic First Round vs. (7) Ohio (L 82-79), started game, 27 mins played, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal. 12/25/21- San Juan Classic Consolation Round vs. (3) Ole Miss (W 85-61), started game, 22 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 12/26/21- San Juan Classic 5th Place Game vs. (5) New Mexico State (W 90-88), started game, 26 mins played, 7 points, 7 rebounds. Ariel did a good job staying out of foul trouble this week, but lost some aggressiveness. His numbers weren't great, but they were ok. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 5-6, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/20/21 at Northwestern (W 72-54), started game, 31 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals. Thomas didn't score as much as we'd like to see, but his defense was spectacular as he had 4 steals and got his hands on a lot of other balls. I'm sure his coach will be happy about the defensive effort. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#3 Pittsburgh) -- 9-1, 0-0 Big East. 12/20/21 vs. Hofstra (W 62-61), started game, 37 mins played, 11 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal, (Double-double). 12/22/21 at #18 Ohio State (W 81-61), started game, 36 mins played, 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, (Double-double). Despite the fact that Qwikshot didn't get a POTG award this week, he had 2 double-doubles and was really outstanding. I can't fathom why a POTG award didn't go his way, but if he keeps producing like he did this week, the awards will come. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 6-4, 0-0 Big 12. 12/24/21 vs. Arkansas (L 77-56), came off bench, 14 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. 12/26/21 at Nevada (W 68-42), came off bench, 21 mins played, 7 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. Good minutes for Mike, but he really didn't do much with them. Sure, he got a little bit of everything stat wise, but he didn't really excel anywhere. I guess that's ok, because we know he can score, he just didn't score a lot this week. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 9-3, 0-0 Pac 10. 12/23/21 at #13 Utah State (L 80-52), started game, 28 mins played, 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist. Not a bad week for Path. A couple more points and rebounds would have given him a double-double, but the shooting has to get better. 3 for 11 won't cut it. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (Duke) -- 9-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/21/21 vs. Appalachian State (W 71-61), started game, 28 mins played, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Cameron has had better weeks for sure, 2-10 shooting won't get it done. Perhaps a bit more passing, a little less shooting. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 6-5, 1-0 Big Ten. 12/25/21 at #4 Wisconsin (W 82-73), started game, 33 mins played, 23 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, (POTG). Great game for Jackson as Purdue pulls an upset to open conference play. Just 2 more rebounds and 2 more assists would have given him a triple-double. He still got POTG though. Hopefully he can keep it up because Purdue will need him through the tough Big Ten grind. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 7-5, 0-0 Big East. 12/24/21- San Juan Classic First Round vs. (7) Ohio (L 82-79), came off bench, 15 mins played, 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block. 12/25/21- San Juan Classic Consolation Round vs. (3) Ole Miss (W 85-61), came off bench, 13 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. 12/26/21- San Juan Classic 5th Place Game vs. (5) New Mexico State (W 90-88), came off bench, 11 mins played, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block. Nice week off the bench for Jawouk, who put up solid numbers in limited minutes. JR C Tim Sheppard (#9 Mississippi State) -- 10-1, 0-0 SEC. 12/24/21 vs. Mississippi Valley State (W 72-62), started game, 14 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, (Injured during game). Tim saw his minutes cut short this week, as he had a tough collision with a teammate going for a loose ball. The result was a pretty badly bruised hip that could keep him out up to a week. He said he'll try to play through it, but we'll see if he's allowed to. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#5 North Carolina) -- 10-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/24/21 at Wofford (W 86-64), came off bench, 10 mins played, 2 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Hey! We have a Flamebeard sighting! Not only did he log double digit minutes, but he also set a career high in rebounds and assists. Is this the start of something big, or was this simply a case of him getting increased minutes in a blowout? We'll soon see. Code:

No feature games this week, so we'll jump right into the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 6-7, 3-1 Big South. 12/30/21 at VMI (W 71-63), started game, 33 mins played, 13 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal. 1/1/22 at North Florida (L 73-70), started game, 34 mins played, 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. It's becoming clear that Benton isn't known for his assists, but rather his scoring and rebounding. At this point, as long as he's helping his team win, that's all we can ask for. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 6-6, 0-1 SWAC. 12/27/21 vs. Memphis (L 67-60), came off bench, 15 mins played, 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks. 12/30/21 vs. Stephen F. Austin (W 80-60), came off bench, 15 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/1/22 vs. Jackson State (L 91-69), came off bench, 16 mins played, 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block. Really good numbers for Bam off the bench this week, but the fouls are starting to pop up again. In limited time, he had at least 3 fouls in each game. He's gonna have to get that corrected. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 7-5, 0-0 Big East. No games this week for Ariel and the Hoyas. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 5-7, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/27/21 at Vanderbilt (L 75-62), started game, 28 mins played, 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist. Good numbers for Thomas in his only game of the week. He came close to a double-double, but not quite. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#3 Pittsburgh) -- 10-1, 0-0 Big East. 1/1/22 at Vanderbilt (W 86-46), started game, 32 mins played, 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Just 1 game this week for Qwikshot and the Panthers, but it was a good one. Qwikshot had a solid game and the Panthers blew out Vandy. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 8-4, 0-0 Big 12. 12/28/21 vs. Michigan State (W 65-53), came off bench, 14 mins played, 6 points, 1 rebound. 12/31/21 vs. St. Louis (W 85-70), came off bench, 14 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Decent numbers off the bench for Mike, but more importantly, the Wildcats got 2 big wins over big time opponents. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-3, 2-0 Pac 10. 12/30/21 at Washington State (W 70-64), started game, 27 mins played, 10 points, 5 rebounds. 1/1/22 at Washington (W 71-63), started game, 35 mins played, 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists. Good week for Path, but he sure would have loved to get a few blocks to start conference play. He was aggressive at the rim though, as almost half his points this week came from the free throw line. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#22 Duke) -- 10-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/29/21 at Winston-Salem (W 73-62), started game, 26 mins played, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal. Just the 1 game for Cameron this week, and he did alright. Got himself in foul trouble and only made 33% of his shots, so those things will need to be improved. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 8-5, 3-0 Big Ten. 12/29/21 at Northwestern (W 89-73), started game, 32 mins played, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists. 1/1/22 vs. Minnesota (W 92-77), started game, 32 mins played, 13 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Another solid week for Jackson who did it with scoring and assists, but also pulled down his share of boards. He was 1 assist away from a double-double against Minnesota. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 7-5, 0-0 Big East. No games this week for Jawouk and the Hoyas. JR C Tim Sheppard (#7 Mississippi State) -- 11-2, 0-0 SEC. 12/27/21 vs. Portland (W 65-56), started game, 27 mins played, 6 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. 12/29/21 vs. Southern Miss (L 82-58), started game, 29 mins played, 3 points, 6 rebounds. Tim certainly didn't let his injury bother him against Portland, as he pulled down a season and career high 16 rebounds. Foul trouble slowed him a little bit against Southern Miss, but then again, the whole team was slowed down in that game. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#4 North Carolina) -- 13-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/27/21 vs. Marquette (W 96-54), came off bench, 11 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds. 12/30/21 vs. Memphis (W 91-74), came off bench, 2 mins played. 1/2/22 at St. Louis (W 76-43), came off bench, 14 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Interesting week for Erik, who had 2 good games sandwiched in between a game in where he barely played. Those 10 points he scored against Marquette are a season and career high. Code:
I'm stunned that Oregon, with their 11-3 record, doesn't even get 1 lousy vote in the top 25. That's just crazy. Code:

December 2021 Pro Update
2nd year PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) Detroit currently sits at 10-21, 4th in the Central Division. Jace scored double figures in every game this month, except for the New Years Eve game against Portland in which he only had 7 points. He had a career high 47 points against the Knicks on Dec. 15th, but despite all that, he still hasn't garnered any awards. He's averaging over 20 points a game and seems to be a lock for the All-Star Game in February. 2nd year PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers/Los Angeles D-Fenders) Ivan got called back up to the Lakers, but I'm really not sure why. He played in 3 games with the Lakers, logging 1 minute a piece before being sent back down to the D-Fenders in the D-League. He played in 3 games there, which means he only played in 6 games the entire month. He does start every game in the D-League and averages 19.7 minutes per game and 6.2 rebounds per game, but word is he's getting fed up with the Trailblazers not giving him a fair shot. Oh yeah, as far as records go, his NBA team, Portland, is currently 11-17 and in last place in the Northwest Division. Meanwhile, the D-Fenders are a much improved D-League team as they stand at 11-7, 2nd place in the Western Division. Rookie SF Chester Smith (Sioux Falls Skyforce) This is new territory for Chester, as the Skyforce have won just 1 game all season. They stand at 1-16, obviously in last place in the Central Division. He comes off the bench and provides quality minutes for his team, averaging 13.6 points and 4.1 rebounds a game. A little bit of inconsistency in December, as he had 4 games where he scored in single digits, and 5 games where he scored 13 or more points. He did break 20 points 3 times in December, but for some odd reason, he's listed as a PF for the Skyforce? Interesting. Rookie PG Al Mighty (Utah Jazz) Utah is currently at 18-10, good for first place in the Northwest Division. Al is still trying to find his niche in the NBA, as he's only averaging 11 minutes a game. A far cry from his college days in Houston. He was scoreless in 5 games in December, and he broke double digits just twice, with 10 points each time. He did set a career high for assists with 6 against Indiana on the 11th. Despite his limited minutes, nobody can deny his assist/turnover ratio, which is currently 3.27/1. He's only had 1 game in which he had more than 2 turnovers, so he's definitely in their for his ball control. Rookie SG Ricardo Tubbs (Free Agent) Poor Ricardo is still sitting at home, waiting for a call. It's unbelievable that he hasn't gotten a chance somewhere yet. Rookie C Rudy Arellano (Canton Charge) Rudy was traded to Canton on the 2nd of December, where he has started every game for them. He's averaging 24.3 minutes, 7.8 points, and 5.8 rebounds a game. He's only had 1 game where he had double figure rebounds though. That was on the 13th against Bakersfield in which he had 11 rebounds. Fouls are a definite issues for Rudy though, as he committed 5 fouls in 6 games in December (remember, in pro ball, it's 6 fouls before fouling out). That is way too many, and is a big reason why his MPG average is so low. Definitely needs to work on that. And for those who are wondering, Canton is currently 8-9, 4th place in a very tight Eastern Division. Rookie SF Jack Dawkins (Houston Rockets) The Rockets are currently 10-17, good for 4th place in the Midwest Division. Jack has bounced back and forth between being a starter and coming off the bench, as he's started in 12 of the 27 games. For the most part, he was a consistent double figure scorer in December. There were 3 games in which he only scored single digits, and he set a career high in scoring with 25 against Minnesota on the 15th. He had 2 double-doubles in December: the 19th against Minnesota, and the 23rd against Toronto. Ironically, the stats were the same in both: 17 points, 10 rebounds. Consistency is big for Jack, as he's scored 17 points 4 times in December, along with scoring 21 twice and 11 twice. Rookie C Ralph King (Indiana Pacers) Indiana currently sits at 8-21, last place in the Central Division. Ralph has yet to crack the starting lineup, averaging 13.3 MPG, as well as 5.5 PPG and 2.9 RPG. He scored in double figured 4 times in December, but didn't have more than 11 points in any of those games. He hasn't had more than 1 block in any game and he doesn't take a lot of shots, but he's shooting 45.7% from the field so far. He did set a season and career high in rebounds on the 19th against Brooklyn, as he pulled down 7 boards. Rookie SG Jaybard Riley (Dallas Mavericks) The Mavs are currently 15-15, good for 2nd place in the Midwest Division. Jaybard continues to make a case for being on the All-Rookie Team. He's shooting 91.9% from the free throw line while averaging 34.9 MPG, 18.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 5.4 APG. His assist/turnover ratio is 1.96/1. Not too shabby at all. Yet despite all that, he still hasn't been in talks for any kind of rookie awards. Jaybard set a career high in scoring with 30 points against Charlotte on the 11th, and had a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists against Golden State on the 20th. |

2 things I want to run by you guys:
1. In the offseason, I am thinking about editing the D-League, as the actual D-League has only 19 teams while FBPB only has the D-League with 16 teams. My only fear is that the game will crash if I edit the league, and the pro part of this dynasty will be wasted. I know that I have edited the postseason tournaments and such in FBCB and not had any problems. If anybody out there is more knowledgeable about this game than me, please share your opinions. 2. I want to spice the pro part of this dynasty up, just a tad. I love the monthly recaps, they work for me, but I feel like I could add something to it, I just don't know what. If anybody has any ideas for something they want to see, let me know. The key performances and such are usually highlighted in the monthly recaps, but I want to make it stand out more. So if anybody has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks. |

No feature games, so let's get right into the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 7-8, 4-1 Big South. 1/5/22 vs. Wake Forest (L 84-47), started game, 35 mins played, 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 1/8/22 vs. Radford (W 83-73), started game, 29 mins played, 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Really a good week for Benton, as he had 7 big rebounds against Wake Forest and a great all-around game against Radford. He didn't get POTG, but he was a big part in the victory. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 8-6, 2-1 SWAC. 1/6/22 vs. Alcorn State (W 78-48), came off bench, 15 mins played, 12 points, 1 rebound. 1/8/22 vs. Southern (W 64-37), came off bench, 14 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal. A tale of 2 games for Bam who didn't miss a shot of any kind against Alcorn State (3-3 FG, 6-6 FT), but didn't have that kind of luck against Southern. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 9-5, 2-0 Big East. 1/5/22 vs. Marquette (W 95-86), started game, 17 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/8/22 vs. Villanova (W 70-55), started game, 28 mins played, 2 points, 7 rebounds. Not the best of weeks for Ariel, who just couldn't get a shot to drop. He did well on the boards, but the point production was an issue. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 5-8, 0-0 Conference USA. 1/4/22 at Miami (OH) (L 77-61), started game, 34 mins played, 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. Good game for Thomas in the only game of the week. Very close to a double-double. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#2 Pittsburgh) -- 12-1, 2-0 Big East. 1/5/22 vs. Cincinnati (W 77-63), started game, 29 mins played, 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. 1/8/22 at West Virginia (W 85-82), started game, 34 mins played, 21 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Solid scoring week for Qwikshot, not sure how he didn't get POTG against West Virginia. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 9-5, 0-1 Big 12. 1/3/22 at Drake (W 70-68), came off bench, 24 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/8/22 vs. Colorado (L 81-67), came off bench, 19 mins played, 1 rebound, 1 assist. Good minutes for Mike off the bench, but he really didn't do much with them. Not much work talking about in the stat lines. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-4, 2-1 Pac 10. 1/8/22 at BYU (L 74-66, OT), started game, 41 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). Just the 1 game for Path and the Ducks this week. Path was one of 3 players to foul out for Oregon. He'll tell you he's had a lot better games. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#19 Duke) -- 11-2, 0-0 ACC. 1/4/22 vs. Longwood (W 76-53), started game, 35 mins played, 20 points, 4 rebounds, 12 assists, 5 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). What a game for Cameron in Duke's only game of the week. Great assist numbers, a double-double, a POTG, and 5 steals. Well done. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 8-6, 3-1 Big Ten. 1/5/22 vs. #4 Illinois (L 83-74), started game, 28 mins played, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Not a bad game for Jackson. He definitely got in a lot of different categories on the stat sheet. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 9-5, 2-0 Big East. 1/5/22 vs. Marquette (W 95-86), came off bench, 16 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/8/22 vs. Villanova (W 70-55), came off bench, 15 mins played, 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. Great week for Jawouk off the bench. Another week like that and he may find a way back in the starting line-up. For now though, he's filling his 6th man role very nicely. JR C Tim Sheppard (#17 Mississippi State) -- 11-3, 0-1 SEC. 1/8/22 at Ole Miss (L 92-82), started game, 32 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals. Poor shooting for Tim in their only game of the week. 2-9 is unacceptable for a post player. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#3 North Carolina) -- 13-2, 0-0 ACC. 1/7/22 at Richmond (L 66-50), came off bench, 17 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Quality minutes off the bench for Erik again, as all his points came from the line where he was 5-9. He did miss all 3 of his shots, but I got a feeling when he gets his opportunity to start, he will not disappoint. Code:
Congrats to Pitt for making it to #1 with all but 1 FPV. Code:

No feature games this week, so to the weekly recap we go: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 8-9, 5-2 Big South. 1/13/22 vs. Gardner Webb (L 65-62), started game, 35 mins played, 7 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal. 1/15/22 vs. UNC Asheville (W 66-64), started game, 35 mins played, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. Nice week for Benton, who dished out a few more assists than he has been. The rebounding is still really good though, but the shooting isn't quite up to par. In fact, it's awful. 7-28 for the week, that's 25%. Wow! RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 9-7, 3-2 SWAC. 1/13/22 at Alabama State (L 88-81), came off bench, 15 mins played, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 2 blocks. 1/15/22 at Alabama A&M (W 51-47), came off bench, 16 mins played, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Bam has had better weeks for sure, but at least he's staying out of foul trouble. Now if they could just get more aggressiveness from him on the boards. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 10-6, 3-1 Big East. 1/12/22 at Seton Hall (L 62-50), started game, 25 mins played, 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block. 1/15/22 at Villanova (W 73-71), started game, 27 mins played, 5 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Ariel had a nice game against Villanova, and he's really doing a good job pulling down the boards. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 6-9, 1-1 Conference USA. 1/12/22 vs. Tulane (W 82-79), started game, 26 mins played, 15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/15/22 vs. Tulsa (L 78-67), started game, 34 mins played, 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Thomas had some shooting woes this week, but he still did quite well. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 13-2, 3-1 Big East. 1/12/22 vs. Notre Dame (L 90-84), started game, 32 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/15/22 at Marquette (W 96-72), started game, 21 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists. Foul trouble hurt Qwikshot a little bit this week, as he had 4 fouls at Marquette. He's had better weeks for sure. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 9-7, 0-3 Big 12. 1/12/22 at Baylor (L 79-73), came off bench, 19 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/15/22 at Texas Tech (L 94-84), came off bench, 16 mins played, 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Not a bad week for Mike, as he had decent production off the bench. He'd still like to get more production with his limited minutes though. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-6, 2-3 Pac 10. 1/13/22 vs. Arizona (L 78-67), started game, 29 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds. 1/15/22 vs. Arizona State (L 58-42), started game, 37 mins played, 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (Double-double). The week ended a lot better than it started for Path, as he got a nice double-double against Arizona State. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#24 Duke) -- 13-2, 2-0 ACC. 1/12/22 at Georgia Tech (W 75-64), started game, 36 mins played, 29 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/15/22 vs. #21 Virginia (W 69-55), started game, 28 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals. Even when he's not scoring, Cameron finds ways to contribute. That was the case against Virginia, but a great game against GA Tech to get POTG. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 9-7, 4-2 Big Ten. 1/12/22 at Ohio State (L 87-70), started game, 32 mins played, 13 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists. 1/15/22 vs. Penn State (W 90-73), started game, 26 mins played, 18 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists. Good week for Jackson who was 1 assist away from double-doubles in each game. SR C Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 10-6, 3-1 Big East. 1/12/22 at Seton Hall (L 62-50), came off bench, 11 mins played, 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal. 1/15/22 at Villanova (W 73-71), came off bench, 11 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Great week for Jawouk in limited minutes off the bench. He continues to fill his sixth man role very well. JR C Tim Sheppard (#17 Mississippi State) -- 11-5, 0-3 SEC. 1/11/22 vs. #2 Tennessee (L 70-67), started game, 35 mins played, 10 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/15/22 at #22 Florida (L 92-86), started game, 33 mins played, 29 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, (Double-double). Great week for Tim who got 2 double-doubles. Unfortunately his team lost both games, so no POTG for him. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#9 North Carolina) -- 14-3, 1-1 ACC. 1/12/22 at Maryland (L 79-65), came off bench, 22 mins played, 1 point, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/15/22 vs. Georgia Tech (W 80-63), came off bench, 14 mins played, 3 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Erik had a decent game against Georgia Tech off the bench, but he's not producing like he needs to. Sadly, he's getting decent minutes now. Code:

RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 9-10, 6-3 Big South. 1/20/22 at Charleston Southern (W 71-64), started game, 20 mins played, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/22/22 at Coastal Carolina (L 69-52), started game, 17 mins played, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Not a good week for Benton, who picked up 4 fouls in each game and saw limited minutes. He'll have to limit the fouls, because the team needs him out there. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 11-7, 5-2 SWAC. 1/20/22 vs. Prairie View A&M (W 62-53), came off bench, 15 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/22/22 vs. Texas Southern (W 71-62), came off bench, 13 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. Bam had a nice game off the bench against Prairie View, but not so good against TX Southern. Still a good week though. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 12-6, 5-1 Big East. 1/19/22 vs. Seton Hall (W 88-77), started game, 25 mins played, 19 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, (POTG). 1/22/22 at Notre Dame (W 64-63), started game, 24 mins played, 4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists. Much better game for Ariel against Seton Hall as he got the POTG. He struggled with fouls against Notre Dame. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 7-10, 2-2 Conference USA. 1/19/22 vs. Central Florida (L 69-61), started game, 35 mins played, 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/22/22 at UTEP (W 71-60), started game, 35 mins played, 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). Good, solid week for Thomas, who probably would have got POTG in both games had Marshall won both. He's really playing well at the right time. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 15-2, 5-1 Big East. 1/19/22 at St. John's (W 74-58), started game, 12 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. 1/22/22 vs. Seton Hall (W 86-68), started game, 31 mins played, 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, (POTG). Tough game at St. John's for Qwikshot, as he battled foul trouble, but a great recovery with the POTG against Seton Hall. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 9-9, 0-4 Big 12. 1/20/22 vs. UNLV (L 67-65), came off bench, 23 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 1/22/22 vs. Nebraska (L 96-81), came off bench, 22 mins played, 2 points, 2 blocks. Mike didn't have a great week, but did have a couple nice blocks against Nebraska. His team is struggling though. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-8, 2-5 Pac 10. 1/20/22 at #21 Stanford (L 81-76), started game, 22 mins, 13 points, 2 assists, 1 steal. 1/22/22 at #5 California (L 98-77), started game, 32 mins played, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. Tough game for Path at Stanford, as he fouled way too much and didn't grab a rebound. At Cal was better, but not his best. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#12 Duke) -- 15-2, 4-0 ACC. 1/19/22 at Clemson (W 83-74), started game, 36 mins played, 30 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). 1/22/22 vs. Virginia Tech (W 82-56), started game, 37 mins played, 20 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, (POTG). A great week for Cameron, with 2 more POTG awards. He wasn't that far from a triple-double in either game, and he's certainly making a case for several awards right now. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 10-8, 5-3 Big Ten. 1/19/22 vs. Michigan (W 72-71, OT), started game, 11 mins played, 6 points, 1 assist, (Fouled Out). 1/22/22 at #10 Illinois (L 85-66), started game, 29 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists. Not the best of weeks for Jackson, who saw 11 minutes before fouling out against Michigan, and suffered a 3-14 shooting night at Illinois. He needs to shake that off and get it going next week. SR C Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 12-6, 5-1 Big East. 1/19/22 vs. Seton Hall (W 88-77), came off bench, 14 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/22/22 at Notre Dame (W 64-63), came off bench, 12 mins played, 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks. Bit of a down week for Jawouk who struggled to find his shot. Hopefully this was just a little setback. JR C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State) -- 12-6, 1-4 SEC. 1/18/22 vs. #24 South Carolina (W 77-75), started game, 35 mins played, 11 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals, (Double-double). 1/22/22 vs. LSU (L 73-67), started game, 31 mins played, 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#15 North Carolina) -- 16-3, 3-1 ACC. 1/19/22 vs. Miami (W 82-62), came off bench, 12 mins played, 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. 1/22/22 vs. Clemson (W 76-47), came off bench, 16 mins played, 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Not a bad week off the bench for Erik, but he's still fouling a little too much for limited minutes. Code:

No feature games, so let's get to the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 10-11, 7-4 Big South. 1/27/22 vs. North Florida (L 73-67), started game, 26 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). 1/29/22 vs. VMI (W 65-57), started game, 36 mins played, 23 points, 7 rebounds, (POTG). Interesting week for Benton, who fouled out of 1 game, was POTG the other game, had 6 rebounds per game, with not 1 assist. Wow! RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 13-7, 7-2 SWAC. 1/27/22 at Mississippi Valley State (W 70-57), came off bench, 17 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. 1/29/22 at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (W 84-64), came off bench, 16 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. Good week for Bam off the bench, as he is starting to convert around the basket a lot more consistently. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 14-6, 7-1 Big East. 1/26/22 at Providence (W 94-81), started game, 23 mins played, 9 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/29/22 vs. Memphis (W 97-59), started game, 25 mins played, 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals. Good week for Ariel this week. He's not tearing down the nets, but he's staying out of foul trouble and putting up consistent numbers. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 8-11, 3-3 Conference USA. 1/26/22 vs. UTEP (L 71-50), started game, 25 mins played, 10 points, 7 rebounds, (Fouled Out). 1/29/22 vs. ECU (W 64-52), started game, 36 mins played, 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. Thomas has certainly had better weeks, as he fouled out against UTEP and had a horrible shooting night against ECU. He did pull 8 rebounds though which helped. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 17-2, 7-1 Big East. 1/26/22 at Syracuse (W 89-82), started game, 11 mins played, 5 points, 1 rebound. 1/29/22 vs. Villanova (W 77-75), started game, 27 mins played, 23 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 4 steals, (POTG). RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 9-11, 0-6 Big 12. 1/24/22 at Missouri (L 91-67), came off bench, 16 mins played, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. 1/29/22 vs. Oklahoma State (L 91-81), came off bench, 13 mins played, 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Not bad minutes for Mike, and decent production. He's still struggling with his shot a bit though. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-10, 2-7 Pac 10. 1/27/22 vs. UCLA (L 88-68), started game, 32 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals. 1/29/22 vs. USC (L 81-61), started game, 29 mins played, 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist. Decent week for Path, he came close to a double-double against USC. He's still had better weeks though. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#8 Duke) -- 17-2, 6-0 ACC. 1/26/22 at #16 Maryland (W 70-61), started game, 34 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal. 1/29/22 at Virginia Tech (W 89-67), started game, 36 mins played, 19 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals. Good week for Cameron. A consistent week with 8 assists each game. No POTG awards, but still a solid week. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 11-8, 6-3 Big Ten. 1/26/22 at Iowa (W 79-78), started game, 35 mins played, 10 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists. Just the 1 game for Jackson and Purdue, and it was a decent game. However, while the 3 turnovers isn't terrible, 1 or 2 would be a much better number. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 14-6, 7-1 Big East. 1/26/22 at Providence (W 94-81), came off bench, 12 mins played, 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals. 1/29/22 vs. Memphis (W 97-59), came off bench, 10 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. JR C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State) -- 14-6, 3-4 SEC. 1/25/22 at Auburn (W 72-70), started game, 19 mins played, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 1/29/22 at Arkansas (W 60-50), started game, 32 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. Not the greatest of weeks for Tim, who once again can't stay out of foul trouble. 4 each game, and his stats suffered because of it. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#13 North Carolina) -- 18-3, 5-1 ACC. 1/26/22 at Virginia Tech (W 82-61), came off bench, 16 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals. 1/29/22 at Miami (W 58-37), came off bench, 17 mins played, 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks. Great week off the bench for Erik. If he could put up those kind of numbers every game, he might just sneak a start every now and then. Code:

January 2022 Pro Update
2nd year PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons are now 16-29 heading into February, good for 3rd place in the Central Division. Jace has been sensational, as he is averaging 20.9 PPG and 6.6 RPG on the season. Of the 14 games Detroit had this month, Jace scored 20 points or better in 9 of them. He also set a season high for rebounds with 17 on Jan. 3 against the Clippers. He had 3 double-doubles in January: 26 points, 17 rebounds on the 3rd vs. the Clippers, 34 points, 10 rebounds a day later against Houston, and 29 points, 11 rebounds, on the 20th against Dallas. Good work for Jace this month. 2nd year PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers) Ivan was recalled from the D-League on Jan. 4th, but I'm really not sure why. He did not see 1 minute of action the entire month. He wasn't hurt, he just didn't play. He's 10th on the depth chart, so you'd think he'd see some minutes, but nope. He's so fed up with what is going on that he's already told Portland he will be testing free agency next season, and I think that's a good choice. As for the Trailblazers, since Ivan is still with them, they are currently 20-24, 4th place in the Northwest Division. Rookie SF Chester Smith (Sioux Falls Skyforce) The Skyforce are 5-21, last place in the Central Division. Surprisingly, that is not the worst record in the USDL, as there is a team with an even worse record. Crazy. As for Chester, he started in 7 of the 9 Sioux Falls games in January. Ironically, the games he didn't start were the first and last games of the month. He's averaging 12 points and 3.9 rebounds a game. He tied his career high with 23 points, on the 26th against Tulsa. Another piece of irony, the only other games he had double digit scoring in were the first and last games of the month, which were the 2 games he didn't start. Maybe he just does better coming off the bench. Something to keep an eye on for sure. Rookie PG Al Mighty (Utah Jazz) The Jazz are currently 26-18, 1st place in the Northwest Division by 3.5 games. Al has played sparingly throughout his rookie season, averaging just 10.9 minutes per game, but just 5.1 points and 1.7 assists a game. He still has a 3.04 assist/turnover ratio which is excellent. He scored in double figures in 3 games this month, as he had 12 on the 10th against Houston, which was his monthly high. He seems to be filling a role, but I think he'd be a lot happier seeing his team make the playoffs at this point. Rookie SG Ricardo Tubbs (Maine Red Claws) Ricardo is no longer a free agent! This is big news. He was just picked up by Maine of the D-League. They acquired him on the 28th, so he has only appeared in 1 game so far. In that game, he started, played 28 minutes and scored 8 points, with 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. As for the Red Claws, they are 13-14, tied for 3rd place in the Eastern Division. Rookie C Rudy Arellano (Canton Charge) The Charge are 11-16, last played in the Eastern Division. Rudy has been a consistent starter, averaging 25.9 minutes, 8.2 points, and 6.5 rebounds a game. He set a career high for rebounds with 17 on the 21st against Rio Grande Valley. He also set a career high for offensive rebounds with 6 on the same day. He set a career high with 4 assists on the 31st against Idaho. He had 2 double-doubles this month: 11 points and 17 rebounds in that career high game against Rio Grande Valley, and 11 points, 11 rebounds against Fort Wayne. Rookie SF Jack Dawkins (Houston Rockets) The Rockets are currently 16-26, last place in the Midwest Division. Jack is averaging 10.3 points and 5 rebounds a game. He only had 4 games in which he scored double figures, and just one game where he had double figure rebounds. He did set a career high in offensive rebounds with 6 on the 10th against Utah. There were 5 games in January in which he scored 4 points or less. He'll need to get a little more consistency in his scoring, but plenty of time for that. Rookie C Ralph King (Indiana Pacers) The Pacers are 15-29, in 4th place in the Central Division, a half game behind Detroit. Ralph is averaging 13.6 minutes and 6 points a game. He hasn't started a game yet, but he's had 2 great games off the bench in January: On the 19th against Portland, he had a career high in points with 19. On the 8th against Washington, he had a career high 10 rebounds. In that game on the 8th against Washington, he also had 13 points, giving him his first career double-double. Rookie SG Jaybard Riley (Dallas Mavericks) The Mavericks are currently 23-21, 2nd place in the Midwest Division. Jaybard has been great. He's started every game and he's averaging 35.4 minutes, 19.9 points, and 4.5 rebounds, as well as 5 assists a game. He set a career high in scoring with 35 points on the 4th against Denver. He then put up another 35 point effort the next night against the Clippers. He scored in double figures in every single game in January. Thanks to his efforts, he was named NBA Player of the Week for the Week of Jan. 3-9. Well done Jaybard, that award should be the first of many. |

1 feature game this week, and it's in the ACC: 2/2/22- #10 Duke (Cameron Blodgett) @ #8 North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) -- As always, this game between heated rivals was a classic. The Blue Devils led by 9 at halftime, and despite committing 19 turnovers, they also shot 56.3% to escape with a road victory. Final Score: #10 Duke- 77, #8 North Carolina- 73 Cameron Blodgett (Duke)- started game, 37 mins played, 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- came off bench, 14 mins played, 7 points, 3 rebounds. Now for the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 12-11, 8-4 Big South. 2/1/22 at Missouri State (W 78-74, OT), started game, 41 mins played, 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. 2/5/22 at Radford (W 58-56), started game, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block. Good week for Benton, still isn't getting a lot of assists, but the rebounds are nice, and he's being a good floor leader by staying out of foul trouble. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 15-7, 9-2 SWAC. 2/3/22 at Southern (W 86-62), came off bench, 17 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. 2/5/22 at Alcorn State (W 73-71, OT), came off bench, 25 mins played, 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks. Great game off the bench at Alcorn State for Bam, very quality minutes. Grambling is on a roll! SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 15-7, 8-2 Big East. 2/2/22 vs. Syracuse (W 84-68), started game, 26 mins played, 5 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 2/5/22 at UConn (L 81-71), started game, 26 mins played, 7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 10-11, 5-3 Conference USA. 2/2/22 at Southern Miss (W 88-84, OT), started game, 42 mins played, 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). 2/5/22 at Tulane (W 78-55), started game, 34 mins played, 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Good week for Thomas, who got a nice double-double, and solid scoring. Still a lower shot percentage than he would like though. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 18-3, 8-2 Big East. 2/2/22 vs. Rutgers (W 114-83), started game, 22 mins played, 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal. 2/5/22 vs. West Virginia (L 81-72), started game, 35 mins played, 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Interesting line for Qwikshot against West Virginia, as he was 10-10 from the free throw line. He played limited minutes against Rutgers, but it was nothing more than a chance to get the bench more PT. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 10-12, 1-7 Big 12. 2/2/22 vs. Texas A&M (W 82-75), came off bench, 20 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, (Fouled Out). 2/5/22 at Iowa State (L 71-51), came off bench, 28 mins played, 8 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal. Interesting week for Mike, who fouled out against A&M but pulled down 6 boards against Iowa State. They'd love more of that from him. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-11, 2-8 Pac 10. 2/5/22 vs. BYU (L 80-72), started game, 35 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Just the 1 game this week for Path and the Ducks, and Path had a pretty solid game, despite picking up 4 fouls. He played well with 4 though, as evidenced by the fact he played all but 5 minutes. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#10 Duke) -- 19-2, 8-0 ACC. 2/2/22 at #8 North Carolina- feature game, highlighted above. 2/5/22 vs. Miami (W 75-50), started game, 33 mins played, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists. Cameron had a great game against rival North Carolina, got POTG and everything. His game against Miami wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as good. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 13-8, 8-3 Big Ten. 2/2/22 vs. Indiana (W 60-30), started game, 32 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, (POTG). 2/5/22 at Michigan State (W 78-70), started game, 24 mins played, 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Jackson didn't put up monster stats to get POTG against Indiana, but still good enough. He had a good scoring week overall. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 15-7, 8-2 Big East. 2/2/22 vs. Syracuse (W 84-68), came off bench, 16 mins played, 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 2/5/22 at UConn (L 81-71), came off bench, 16 mins played, 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks. Another great week of being a sixth man for Jawouk. In some ways, he's doing better than his friend and front court mate Ariel. It's a shame he can't find a way to get back into the starting lineup. JR C Tim Sheppard (#24 Mississippi State) -- 15-7, 3-5 SEC. 2/3/22 at Cleveland State (W 79-70), started game, 31 mins played, 27 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, (POTG). 2/5/22 vs. Ole Miss (L 65-60), started game, 26 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Tim had a monster game against Cleveland State, a POTG and everything. Against Ole Miss, not so good. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#8 North Carolina) -- 19-4, 6-2 ACC. 2/2/22 vs. #10 Duke- feature game, highlighted above. 2/5/22 at Florida State (W 69-56), came off bench, 8 mins played, 2 points. Erik had a decent game off the bench against Duke, but he didn't do much against Florida State. Code:

I am going to go ahead and move forward, and let everyone see their stats at the end of February.
Feb. 7-13, 2022 No feature games this week, so let's jump into the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 13-12, 9-5 Big South. 2/10/22 at UNC Asheville (W 83-75), started game, 27 mins played, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). 2/12/22 at Gardner Webb (L 83-53), started game, 20 mins played, 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. 2 totally different games for Benton this week, as he had an awful 2-14 shooting night at Asheville. Against Gardner Webb he was the only Panther in double digits. Unfortunately, he sprained his knee late in the first half and played sparingly in the second half. He's expected to be out around 8 days, and it's not certain if they'll try to play him next week or not. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 17-7, 11-2 SWAC. 2/10/22 vs. Alabama A&M (W 93-72), came off bench, 18 mins played, 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 2 blocks. 2/12/22 vs. Alabama State (W 73-62), came off bench, 14 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Bam played some solid defense this week off the bench. He's not scoring a ton, but he's getting rebounds when he needs to. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 16-8, 9-3 Big East. 2/9/22 at St. John's (W 88-64), started game, 24 mins played, 12 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, (Double-double). 2/12/22 at #6 Louisville (L 79-67), started game, 15 mins played, 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block. Great game for Ariel at St. John's as he got a double-double, but he was non-existent at Louisville. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 11-12, 6-4 Conference USA. 2/9/22 at Tulsa (L 77-51), started game, 32 mins played, 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 2/12/22 at #22 UCF (W 80-67), started game, 31 mins played, 22 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). How Thomas didn't get POTG at UCF, I have no idea. Well, actually I do. The person the got it was 7-10 from the field and Thomas was 7-21. But still, you can't go wrong with a double-double. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 20-3, 10-2 Big East. 2/9/22 at Cincinnati (W 75-50), started game, 34 mins played, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. 2/12/22 vs. UConn (W 88-56), started game, 25 mins played, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). Qwikshot was in foul trouble both games this week, but he put up some consistent numbers. It would be nice to see how he would have done without the foul trouble. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 10-14, 1-9 Big 12. 2/9/22 vs. #21 Kansas (L 77-59), came off bench, 24 mins played, 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. 2/12/22 at #4 Texas (L 98-58), came off bench, 23 mins played, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Mike took advantage of some increased minutes this week, and had a pretty nice day at Texas. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 12-12, 3-9 Pac 12. 2/10/22 at Arizona State (W 74-53), started game, 23 mins played, 15 points, 3 rebounds. 2/12/22 at #11 Arizona (L 89-60), started game, 27 mins played, 11 points, 6 rebounds. Foul trouble hurt Path this week, as in limited minutes he still led the team in scoring at Arizona State. Crazy. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#5 Duke) -- 20-3, 9-1 ACC. 2/9/22 vs. Georgia Tech (W 81-76), started game, 36 mins played, 18 points, 3 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). 2/12/22 at Virginia (L 68-59), started game, 35 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists, (Fouled Out). Cameron was consistent with the assists, 11 each game. A few too many turnovers against GA Tech. 5 to be exact, but still he wasn't the team leader in that department. He was way too aggressive against Virginia though, fouling out when Coach K needed him on the floor most. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 15-8, 9-3 Big Ten. 2/7/22 vs. SIU Edwardsville (W 91-83), started game, 35 mins played, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, (POTG). 2/9/22 vs. Ohio State (W 72-64), started game, 34 mins played, 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Great week for Jackson as he got a POTG and committed just 4 fouls the entire week. Now that's a great job. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 16-8, 9-3 Big East. 2/9/22 at St. John's (W 88-64), came off bench, 14 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds. 2/12/22 at #6 Louisville (L 79-67), came off bench, 15 mins played, 4 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. Little bit of a down week for Jawouk. While he did ok, he's put up a lot better numbers off the bench. JR C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State) -- 17-7, 5-5 SEC. 2/8/22 at LSU (W 77-64), started game, 26 mins played, 9 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal. 2/12/22 vs. Arkansas (W 68-43), started game, 30 mins played, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. No blocks this week for Tim. That's discouraging, very discouraging. But, he's staying out of foul trouble and he's still putting up good stats in his minutes. He averages 8 free throws a game. Not bad. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#13 North Carolina) -- 21-4, 8-2 ACC. 2/9/22 vs. #18 Boston College (W 73-58), came off bench, 16 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 2/12/22 at Clemson (W 90-68), came off bench, 14 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks. Erik is starting to get better minutes. He's getting more of a chance, and he just needs to run with it. The stats aren't bad, but they could be better. Code:
Welcome back Mississippi State to the national top 25 after a short absence. Code:
Was hoping this hot streak from Grambling might get them a few votes in the mid-major poll, but no such luck. Their SWAC counterparts Jackson State, who are 1 game ahead of them in the standings, are receiving quite a few votes though. |

Feb. 14-20, 2022
1 feature game to tell you about, it took place in the Big East. 2/19/22- #1 Pittsburgh (Qwikshot Collins) @ Georgetown (Ariel Ginsberg, Jawouk Bafou) -- The Panthers continue to dominate, despite the fact they committed 20 turnovers in this one. Defensively is where they got it done, holding Georgetown to 36.7% shooting as they rolled to an easy road victory. Final Score: #1 Pittsburgh- 84, Georgetown- 65 Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- started game, 32 mins played, 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals. Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown)- started game, 24 mins played, 6 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown)- came off bench, 12 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks. Now for the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 15-12, 11-5 Big South. 2/17/22 vs. Coastal Carolina (W 62-54), started game, 33 mins played, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. 2/19/22 vs. Charleston Southern (W 65-58), started game, 30 mins played, 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Shooting was a problem for Benton this week, as he took lots of shots but didn't make many of them. You have to wonder if playing through the injury didn't have something to do with that. He did most of his damage from the free throw line. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 19-7, 13-2 SWAC. 2/17/22 at Texas Southern (W 78-44), came off bench, 16 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals. 2/19/22 at Prairie View A&M (W 85-79), came off bench, 17 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Bam was very effective this week, as he missed just 1 shot, of any kind. That's pretty good shooting right there, and 3 steals at Texas Southern? Well done. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 17-9, 10-4 Big East. 2/16/22 vs. Rutgers (W 77-68), started game, 25 mins played, 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 2/19/22 vs. #1 Pittsburgh- feature game, highlighted above. Decent week for Ariel, who got a POTG against Rutgers. His line against Pitt wasn't too bad either. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 11-14, 6-6 Conference USA. 2/16/22 at ECU (L 70-57), started game, 30 mins played, 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. 2/19/22 at South Florida (L 72-57), started game, 36 mins played, 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. A couple of good games this week for Thomas, although neither resulted in wins. He's doing his job as a SF, he's shooting the ball and scoring often. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 21-4, 11-3 Big East. 2/16/22 at Notre Dame (L 79-73), started game, 25 mins played, 5 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, (Fouled Out). 2/19/22 at Georgetown- feature game, highlighted above. Qwikshot has had better weeks, as he fouled out at Notre Dame. They needed him on the floor in the crucial minutes. Fortunately he was able to stay out of foul trouble against Georgetown and have a little better game. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 10-16, 1-11 Big 12. 2/16/22 vs. #18 Oklahoma (L 91-66), came off bench, 16 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 2/19/22 at Nebraska (L 84-69), came off bench, 13 mins played, 8 points, 1 assist, 2 steals. Good week off the bench for Mike, who came close to having double digit scoring in both games. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 12-14, 3-11 Pac 10. 2/17/22 vs. #10 California (L 83-68), started game, 35 mins played, 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 2/19/22 vs. #17 Stanford (L 80-47), started game, 18 mins played, 4 rebounds. If there was ever a game for Path to forget, it's the game against Stanford. He was in foul trouble all game, played just 18 minutes, and missed all 7 of his shots. At least he did a little something against Cal. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#7 Duke) -- 21-4, 10-2 ACC. 2/16/22 vs. Clemson (W 78-57), started game, 17 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal. 2/19/22 vs. Florida State (L 80-71, OT), started game, 41 mins played, 21 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists. Cameron was in foul trouble all game against Clemson, but he had a heck of a game against Florida State. He tied for the team leader in points with 21 and was just 2 assists shy of a double-double. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 16-9, 10-4 Big Ten. 2/16/22 vs. Northwestern (L 88-78), started game, 33 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists. 2/19/22 at Michigan (W 84-78), started game, 35 mins played, 8 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 block. Nice week for Jackson, especially at Michigan. He wasn't in double figures in anything, but he had a very, very balanced game. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 17-9, 10-4 Big East. 2/16/22 vs. Rutgers (W 77-68), came off bench, 13 mins played, 4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 2/19/22 vs. #1 Pittsburgh- feature game, highlighted above. Not a bad week for Jawouk off the bench. He's not getting the kind of production he was earlier in the season, but he's still doing ok. JR C Tim Sheppard (#21 Mississippi State) -- 19-7, 7-5 SEC. 2/15/22 at Alabama (W 92-88), started game, 26 mins played, 9 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 4 steals. 2/19/22 vs. Auburn (W 63-51), started game, 26 mins played, 13 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, (Double-double), (POTG). What a game for Tim against Auburn. A huge double-double and POTG as he continues to raise his draft stock. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#9 North Carolina) -- 23-4, 10-2 ACC. 2/16/22 vs. Wake Forest (W 105-102, OT), came off bench, 13 mins played, 1 point, 2 rebounds. 2/19/22 at Georgia Tech (W 71-69, OT), came off bench, 17 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Erik has had better weeks off the bench, but the game at GA Tech wasn't bad. He just needs to do a better job taking advantage of his minutes. Code:
As you can see, Pittsburgh's grip on #1 isn't quite as tight, with 3 other teams getting FPV. Code:

No feature games this week, so let's get right into the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 16-13, 12-6 Big South. 2/24/22 at Presbyterian (W 81-65), started game, 26 mins played, 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 2/26/22 at USC Upstate (L 70-62), started game, 27 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. The best defense Benton played this week was fouling. He had 4 fouls in each game. Decent stats otherwise, but not great. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 20-8, 14-3 SWAC. 2/24/22 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (L 74-44), came off bench, 15 mins played, 3 rebounds. 2/26/22 vs. Mississippi Valley State (W 84-77), came off bench, 14 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Bam had a terrible game off the bench against Pine Bluff, missing all his shots, but he made up for it against Miss. Valley. Most of his points came from the line, but still, he's getting there and that's good. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 19-9, 12-4 Big East. 2/23/22 vs. DePaul (W 67-60), started game, 23 mins played, 4 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal. 2/26/22 vs. Cincinnati (W 77-73), started game, 28 mins played, 2 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. A week to forget for Ariel, who was just 1-14 from the field in 2 games this week. Ugh, enough said. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 13-14, 8-6 Conference USA. 2/23/22 at SMU (W 71-66), started game, 30 mins played, 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 2/26/22 vs. Houston (W 67-49), started game, 36 mins played, 15 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, (Double-double). Nice game against Houston for Thomas, recording a double double. They need more performances like that from him. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 22-5, 12-4 Big East. 2/23/22 vs. Memphis (W 79-69), started game, 24 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). 2/26/22 at #5 Louisville (L 69-55), started game, 37 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Not the best of weeks for Qwikshot, who struggled to not only find his shot, but also had major foul trouble, including fouling out against Memphis. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 10-18, 1-13 Big 12. 2/23/22 vs. Iowa State (L 81-64), came off bench, 16 mins played, 11 points, 3 rebounds. 2/26/22 at Colorado (L 75-67), came off bench, 16 mins played, 3 points, 2 assists, 1 steal. Mike struggled off the bench this week, could never really get going. He needed to make a good impression with the decent minutes this week, but couldn't get it done. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 13-15, 4-12 Pac 10. 2/24/22 at USC (L 56-43), started game, 15 mins played, 4 points, 5 rebounds. 2/26/22 at UCLA (W 92-73), started game, 32 mins played, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal. Path couldn't stay on the court long enough to accomplish anything against USC, but had a much better game at UCLA. He did have 4 fouls in that one though, so he needs to really be smarter on defense. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#9 Duke) -- 22-5, 11-3 ACC. 2/23/22 vs. #24 Boston College (L 73-70), started game, 31 mins played, 11 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block. 2/26/22 vs. #11 Maryland (W 87-69), started game, 24 mins played, 14 points, 1 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, (POTG). Pretty impressive for Cameron, getting the POTG against Maryland and only playing just over a half. He had a pretty good week. Not great though. He's been better. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 18-9, 12-4 Big Ten. 2/23/22 vs. #21 Wisconsin (W 80-77), started game, 33 mins played, 15 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal. 2/26/22 vs. Iowa (W 94-77), started game, 32 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals. Good stats for Jackson, he got his assists this week, but most of his points against Wisconsin came from the free throw line. He didn't shoot very good at all this week. But, like all good players do, he contributed in other ways, with the assists. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 19-9, 12-4 Big East. 2/23/22 vs. DePaul (W 67-60), came off bench, 11 mins played, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. 2/26/22 vs. Cincinnati (W 77-73), came off bench, 13 mins played, 9 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks, 2 steals. Jawouk had a big game off the bench against Cincinnati, almost getting a double-double. That's the kind of performance they've come to expect from him. JR C Tim Sheppard (#16 Mississippi State) -- 20-8, 8-6 SEC. 2/22/22 vs. Vanderbilt (L 78-50), started game, 29 mins played, 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, (Double-double). 2/26/22 at Georgia (W 79-71), started game, 30 mins played, 19 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, (Double-double). Solid week for Tim, with double-doubles in both games. He was Miss. States best player in that blowout loss to Vanderbilt. Amazingly, he wasn't POTG in either game. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#8 North Carolina) -- 25-4, 12-2 ACC. 2/23/22 at Virginia (W 63-54), came off bench, 8 mins played, 1 point, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 2/26/22 vs. Virginia Tech (W 95-64), came off bench, 16 mins played, 9 points, 4 rebounds. Erik had a nice game off the bench against VA Tech, but struggled from the free throw line. Still, it was nice to see him get going a little bit. Code:
I'm really surprised Pitt is still #1. They are a good team, don't get me wrong, but they aren't even the best team in the Big East right now. Well, the pollsters know what they are doing, right? Code:

No feature games this week, so let's get to the weekly recap: RS SR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 17-14, 12-6 Big South. 3/1/22- Big South Quarterfinals vs. (7) Coastal Carolina (W 57-50), started game, 8 mins played, 5 points, 1 rebound. 3/2/22- Big South Semifinals vs. (3) USC Upstate (L 64-49), started game, 15 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. Well, that was certainly a tournament to forget for Benton who had 4 fouls in each game. High Point may have a slight chance to make a postseason tournament. I really hope for Benton's sake they do, because he deserves to end his college career on a better note than this. RS SR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 20-9, 14-4 SWAC. 3/5/22 at Jackson State (L 82-79), came off bench, 13 mins played, 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block. Just 1 game for Bam this week, and he didn't do much off the bench really. Grambling finished 2nd in the SWAC and will be the #2 seed in the SWAC Tournament. SR C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown) -- 19-11, 12-6 Big East. 3/2/22 at West Virginia (L 73-62), started game, 29 mins played, 2 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. 3/5/22 at Marquette (L 84-73), started game, 5 mins played, 3 rebounds, (left with injury). Ariel continued to struggle this week, and the final straw came at Marquette, as he left the game with a dislocated shoulder. He is expected to be out 38 days. The Hoyas would pretty much have to play into April for Ariel to have a chance to see another game. Simply put, barring a miracle, Ariel's college career is over. Oh yea, as for the Hoyas, they end the regular season on a sour note, finishing tied for 3rd in the Big East. They'll be the 3rd seed in the Big East tournament. SR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 13-16, 8-8 Conference USA. 3/2/22 vs. #23 UAB (L 77-67), started game, 23 mins played, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. 3/5/22 vs. Kent State (L 65-47), started game, 36 mins played, 12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. Thomas continues to struggle with his shot. He was just 3-20 from the field against Kent State. My goodness! Marshall finishes tied for 6th in Conference USA and will be the 7th seed in the C-USA Tournament. RS JR SG Qwikshot Collins (#1 Pittsburgh) -- 24-5, 14-4 Big East. 3/2/22 vs. Providence (W 83-62), started game, 31 mins played, 4 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals. 3/5/22 at DePaul (W 77-66), started game, 25 mins played, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, (Fouled Out). Not a great week for Qwikshot, who also struggled to find his shot, and fouled out at DePaul. Pittsburgh finishes 2nd in the Big East and will be the 2nd seed in the Big East Tourney. RS JR PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 11-19, 2-14 Big 12. 3/2/22 at #12 Kansas (L 91-73), came off bench, 14 mins played, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 3/5/22 vs. Missouri (W 81-75), came off bench, 21 mins played, 8 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists. Mike got some key minutes in the win over Missouri, and hit a couple big shots down the stretch. Kansas State finishes last in the Big 12 and will be the 12th seed in the Big 12 Tournament. RS JR PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 15-15, 6-12 Pac 10. 3/3/22 vs. Washington State (W 77-55), started game, 27 mins played, 9 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, (Fouled Out). 3/5/22 vs. Washington (W 66-57), started game, 37 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Not the best week for Path, who fouled out against Washington State and never really got going in either game. Oregon finishes 8th in the Pac Ten and will be the 8th seed in the Pac 10 Tournament. JR SG Cameron Blodgett (#8 Duke) -- 23-6, 12-4 ACC. 3/2/22 at N.C. State (W 82-53), started game, 32 mins played, 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 3/5/22 at Wake Forest (L 63-61), started game, 22 mins played, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists. Cameron had foul trouble at Wake Forest which really hurt him and the team in that 2 point losses. He always wasn't getting the assists like he normally does. Duke finishes 2nd in the ACC and will be the 2nd seed in the ACC Tournament. JR PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 20-9, 14-4 Big Ten. 3/2/22 at Minnesota (W 76-65), started game, 23 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). 3/5/22 at Penn State (W 85-68), started game, 30 mins played, 26 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, (POTG). Jackson had an interesting week, fouling out at Minnesota and having 4 fouls at Penn State. He still did enough to earn POTG, leading all scores at Penn State with 26. Purdue wins the Big Ten regular season title and will be the #1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. Congrats to them. JR PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown) -- 19-11, 12-6 Big East. 3/2/22 at West Virginia (L 73-62), came off bench, 11 mins played, 11 points, 2 rebounds. 3/5/22 at Marquette (L 84-73), came off bench, 16 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Jawouk had a nice game off the bench at West Virginia, as he was 7-8 from the free throw line. JR C Tim Sheppard (#20 Mississippi State) -- 22-8, 10-6 SEC. 3/1/22 vs. Alabama (W 94-84), started game, 29 mins played, 26 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, (POTG). 3/5/22 at Kentucky (W 79-73), started game, 12 mins played, 13 points, 3 rebounds, (Fouled Out). Tough game for Tim at Kentucky, as he couldn't stay on the floor. But a nice game against Alabama as he gets POTG. Mississippi State finishes 1st in the SEC West and will be the 2nd seed in the SEC Tournament. RS SO PF Erik Flamebeard (#7 North Carolina) -- 27-4, 14-2 ACC. 3/2/22 vs. #13 Maryland (W 74-58), came off bench, 11 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 3/5/22 at N.C. State (W 84-59), came off bench, 12 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds. Decent time off the bench for Erik, but he just isn't quite performing at the level Coach Williams wants. North Carolina wins the ACC Regular Season title and will be the top seed in the ACC Tournament. Code:
Pittsburgh, somehow, is still #1. I don't get it. I'm happy for them, but I don't get it. Code:

Tough losses for Grambling down the stretch. Now we have to run through the SWAC tournament.

February 2022 Pro Update
2nd year PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons are now 20-36, 3rd place in the Central Division. Jace continues to impress, being name an Eastern Conference All-Star. In that game he played 27 minutes and scored 14 points, with 3 rebounds and 1 assist. He also played for the Sophomores in the NBA Rookie Game where he had a double-double with 22 points, 14 rebounds. He was in double figures in scoring in every single game in February, including 2 double-doubles: Feb. 10th against Brooklyn (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Feb. 25th against Charlotte (22 points, 12 rebounds). Another great month for Jace. 2nd year PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers/Los Angeles D-Fenders) The Trailblazers are 26-31 currently, 3rd place in the Northwest Division. Ivan went back and forth between the D-League and the Trailblazers all month, playing in 7 games, all of them in the D-League. He had 27 points against Sioux Falls on the 20th, his high for the month. Other than that, he didn't really do much. Ivan is really struggling to find his place in professional basketball, and it's going to continue to kill his morale if he keeps getting bounced around. Something has to give. Rookie SF Chester Smith (Sioux Falls Skyforce/Ft. Wayne Mad Ants) The Skyforce are currently 6-27, last place in the Central Division. Chester played 2 games with them before being traded to Ft. Wayne, who is currently 20-13, in 1st place in the Eastern Division. I think Chester appreciated that trade, as he now has a change to play for a possible playoff team. He did have a season and career high in assists with 6 against Erie on the 7th, his last game he actually played with Sioux Falls. After being traded to Ft. Wayne, he played in 4 games, averaging a little over 8 minutes played in those games. Finding PT is going to be a little harder to come by with a contending team it looks like. Rookie PG Al Mighty (Utah Jazz) The Jazz are currently 31-25, 1st place in the Northwest Division. Al started the month off slow, but really picked it up late, as he was in double figures in the last 8 games of the month. He set season and career highs in points, rebounds, and assists this month. For points, he had a season/career high 29 against Minnesota on Feb. 24th. For rebounds, he had a season/career high 7 against Milwaukee on the 23rd. And for assists, he had a season/career high 9 on the 18th. It looks like he's turned a corner, now if he can continue to keep producing like he has been. Rookie SG Ricardo Tubbs (Maine Red Claws) The Red Claws are 17-17, good for 4th place in the Eastern Division. Since joining the team, Ricardo has started every game and he's had 2 games with 20 points, and another game with 19 points. He's had 7 rebounds in 3 separate games, and he had a season/career high of 5 assists on the 15th against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Ricardo is certainly proving that he deserves a roster spot, and I see no signs of him letting up. Rookie C Rudy Arellano (Canton Charge) Canton is currently 13-22, last place in the Eastern Division. Rudy showed a lot of inconsistency this month, with 4 games of 5 points or less, a game with 8 points, and 3 games in double figures. In fact, his most recent performance, the 26th against Sioux Falls, might have been a breakout game for him. He had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. The 16 points was a season/career high, and he also set a season/career high with 5 assists. Rookie SF Jack Dawkins (Houston Rockets) The Rockets are currently 21-34, last place in the Midwest Division. Jack was in the starting lineup for most of the month, with most of his games being between 8 and 13 point efforts. He did post one double-double, against Atlanta on the 19th. He had 13 points and 10 rebounds in that game. Jack has been steady, and I feel the best is yet to come from him. Rookie C Ralph King (Indiana Pacers) The Pacers are currently 19-37, good for 4th place in the Central Division. Ralph had a short month, playing in just 3 games before being injured. In 2 of the games, he had double figure scoring, but he was injured on the game against Detroit on the 7th. The injury is being listed as Patellar Tendanitis, which was diagnosed for him to be out about 25 days. That time is almost over, and he's listed currently as day to day. Look for him to resume action shortly into March. Rookie SG Jaybard Riley (Dallas Mavericks) The Mavericks are currently 27-30, good for 2nd place in the Midwest Division. Jaybard played for the Rookie Team in the NBA Rookie Game over All-Star Weekend. He played 21 minutes, scored 10 points, and had 4 rebounds and 5 assists. He has started every game for the Mavericks, and he set a season/career high in points with 37 against San Antonio on the 16th. He scored in double figures in all but 2 of the Maverick's games in February. He was held to 4 points on the 7th against the Lakers, and 9 points on the 8th against Orlando. His lowest scoring output after that? 15 points, twice. HE's set to have a long, long and great career. |
